Apparently common sense isn’t common anymore nowadays.
Because they used NOT to have DEI and all the forced, immersion breaking, untalented bs in them.
The way games used to be were games that did not contain social engineering.
Lest we forget that Space Marine 2 comes hot on the heels of two very high profile gaming failures (Concorde and Dust thingy) and it’s colossal success has made those ideologically aligned with the latter even angrier.
Now they want revenge by any means and will scrape any barrel to get it. I fear that that CEO, despite saying nothing remotely controversial or unreasonable, has nonetheless given them the ammunition they were desperately searching for. 🙁

As a long time fan of ScrewAttack especially Stuttering Craig, I'm glad one of my favourite video game content creator from the 00s doesn't bend to these people ideology. Big fan of Vault and Top 10!

It's crazy how these journalists can claim something is controversial when the people are all onboard
They surround themselves with people who agree and believe in their ideology. They are out of touch.
Let me make it as simple as possible. If you make a game people want to play, they will give you their money. If you make something they don't want to play, they keep their money.
Remember that you're talking to modern game devs - can you dumb it down a little?

What I have noticed with gaming content creators that are monetized, they are scared absolutely shitless to say anything against DEI/woke games so that they don't get demonetized. In my opinion they are part of the problem. They are paid by these companies to bend the knee and these promotions make video games and hardware cost more because they have to pay these content creators. DEI companies know exactly what they are doing.
What matters is its really fun. Gaming PC with 360 controller. Single player was awesome, multiplayer is fun, unlocked the Black Templar's skin set. Played with friends in co-op in said skin. Cannot praise it anymore than easily on the best games of the year. That's what really matters.
360 controller have awful d-pad. PS4 controller is better

@@Jackrost01it is an awful D-pad the 360 has, no doubt at all. But it's never an issue since it is mainly used for the UI/menus and not movement within a 3D environment.
@@lancepage1914 For platformers - it's losing some accuracy. For some games it still fine if it allows some room for slight error.
But for fighting games it just don't work at all.
But Space Marine 2 does make a statement. Just not the one those they/thems want it to make.

I already supported them because i don't listen to culture war tourists like yellowflash and Hypnotic and form my own opinion. I knew it wasn't going to he woke when the creative director said he read Know no Fear to understand the ultramarines and be faithful to the lore.

First off, there's nothing controversial about the comment that was left in Asmon's video under Karch's name. They are claiming it's controversial to be click bait. Secondly, I don't even think it was him. I think the company recognized that someone impersonated the CEO but it was well received so they kept quiet and let it play out.

Wukong, space marine 2, and plucky squire are just games that are just fun games. Games can have story and sometimes moral messaging, but they still need to be fun to play. Ive been having a great time with wukong and plan to get space marine 2.
Stellar blade, granblue fantasy relink, FFXVI, Rise of the Ronin etc aka eastern made games have been carrying so hard for years now.
How anyone follows IGN or the ilk is still beyond me. SM 2 is a great game and we really do need more games like it.

My only issue with this game was that it was too short for the price. I finished it in a weekend. And yes I know there is more content on it's way over the next few months, but still, the core campaign was way too short. The one thing this game excelled at above all else was the battles going on in the background as you play, and the environment, were both truly epic in scale, and beautifully executed. It felt like you were in the middle of this epic battle.
Then replay it...the firsr one was short also. Halo was short also. Just play it again
Bro, we literally have PVP and PVE along with FREE season passes all throughout 2024 & 2025. A whole road map already planned way before & shown to us already with no payment required unless you want extra chapters or skins but that makes sense. This game took me 11 hours to finish because I took my time and didn’t blitz the story so it took 4 days to finish
@@adaptivegamer9905 You must be younger than me because games used to give you weeks worth of story game play for that price point. Not hours worth. The PVE was fun but with few maps. I found the PVP to feel generic and again few maps. Their entire road map for the next 3 months should have been released day one for that price. I did not say to not buy the game. I just recommend holding off till the available content fattens up, or it is on sale.

Personally I blame Sony and the PS1 for transforming gaming from a childish pastime that prepubescent boys hurriedly discarded once they discovered cigarettes and girls to a multi-billion colossus that massively expanded the core audience to teenagers, twenty somethings and socially awkward leftwing young women attracted to gaming _culture_ rather than gaming itself….
Once the latter demographic grafted themselves on and, though it has taken a few decades, gaming’s fate was essentially sealed. 😁

Activism is one thing, some of the far left is just straight up bigots--speak out when you hear their double standards, hate, etc.
There is nothing controversial about it. It's just the way, a developer, writer, director, artist or actor should think.
I have to thank IGN for this Streisand effect because I would have known this CEO was based if not for their attempted smear.
Of what I've played so far the one thing I can really give it credit for is it's stable, I have had zero crashes or glitches, EA/Bethesda slop would have had a half dozen by now.
Definately going to crank it up to hardest soon, the hard difficulty is very punishing on mistakes as it is, I need to suffer.

Controversial as in we personally don't agree and don't think anyone else should, either.
Nobody I know, play with or met would term that comment as controversial. It mirrors the sentiment of everyone I know that actually considers themselves a gamer. The fact that the games journalists that are widely reviled among the target audience they supposedly inform would disagree with it simply represents yet another reason why nobody who actually plays games as a hobby gives them any credibility anymore.

I kinda blame activist investors and UN mandates, I worked for a AAA studio, and we had a mandate from the UN to make less violent games...... not sure what happens if a company complies, but i'm assuming they get more investments.

Video game journalist has always been people that weren't able to make it in actual journalism or needed experience under their belt. Since TH-cam allowed people who did what "journalists, but more frequent and with personality you could get through the video instead of interpreting some writing style that only their circle knows. You see it now in the"panels" they do, it's boring and you get next to no new information on anything gaming.

TH-camrs do just talk to a camera and some extra stuff.. don’t act like you are some great and Uber hard working person that makes videos and does journalism. The world can function just fine without journalists and TH-camrs. Neither are a fundamentally needed thing.. The job is self reportedly incredibly easy as said by many many people.
