Big Thank you to Grinnelli over at GrinnelliDesigns for letting me show off this amazing proof of concept of his Thrust Vectoring F-22 Raptor, as mentioned in the video it was never intended for public release, it was way too complicated to actually try to do anything with it that would make it worth it for the community, but we're lucky enough to get a peak at it, if you guys have any cool ideas of what we should do with this thing let me know in the comment section below, we just have a go at it. Thanks for Watching guys Much Love.

Out of curiosity, what's making this too complicated for it to be worthwhile? Complicated installation, performance impact, interference with non f22 modules, something like that?

The hardest and funnest to fly tho were the ww2 props, just because you have to know asap what ur enemys plane is thru sight, and then know how to outfly that certain type of plane. So if it was a plane that could outturn me, id boom n zoom it and rinse and repeat, and keep my energy. It teaches you how to have good visual radar aswell, if u cant identify other plane types and dont know ur advantages its over, jet fights are way more simple. Bi planes are fun because there lofty, and the manuevers you learn here will carry over to the ww2 era fighters. Bi planes turn rediculously good, and a furball of them is wild lol.

My house is under the flightpath of the Raptor (and other fighters) as they maneuver to return back to the airfield. Plus I have a great view of high acrobatics. The Raptors like to fly low because it's an airshow so I get a very good look at the jet (and the insane noise it makes).

    Very cool to see!
Assuming rectangular nozzles rotate ~20-30 degrees maximum, it seems a bit over-tuned, especially at higher speeds. If they just did a degrees per second implementation I can see why it does so. This excludes other factors like G-strain on the aircraft when fast, proper FLCS limits for each speed, and some aerodynamic interactions. To nail this down would be very difficult unless it was built into the physics engines.

Definitely reminiscent of the kind of maneuverability I saw a Raptor demonstrate at the Atlantic City Airshow over a decade ago... pilot got in hot waters for accidentally demonstrating way too much that civilians weren't supposed to see. I even saw him perform a _Pugachev's Cobra_ maneuver and tail slide before his actual show time when he probably thought no one was watching since all eyes were on show center above the water.

Back in '04 when I was in the Civil Air Patrol we were doing some work out on Fairchild AFB during the airshow and they had the F-22 doing show runs, still remember my jaw dropping at that thing's ability to do what I'd only ever seen a bi-plane do at shows, including fly backwards. Still wonder if what I was told about it, the airframe being able to handle and outperform the pilots survivable g limits, is true or not.
