Got that Hellcat dynamic in Iron man infuriated me. Just as an aside, the reason Tony is on a hospital bed there is because he basically had to turn himself into a bullet to break a bunch of civilians out of a deadly imprisonment device. He flew straight into it and it shattered almost everything in his body.
Any person bold enough to date She-Hulk without some kind of super durability is braver than any super hero in The Avengers, so Jack of Hearts deserves his spin off.
It's nice to see someone else poiting out how awful is the treatment of Hellcat to Iron Man. Even for a guy with a big ego and a long list of fuck ups, she is treating him in an extremely cruel manner. "Tough love" involves saying to someone you love when they have fucked up. But also giving them some room when they are recovering on the hospital after saving a lot of people, Patsy.
Yeah that attitude is warranted immediately after a fuck up not just as a lingering resentment that comes out whenever the writers feel like clumsily reminding the audience Tony Stark is a rich white man Also if they wanna go with that angle that's fine but they should pick almost literally any character other than his love interest for it.

Agreed on the Hellcat angle. I'd understand Tony's attraction to her if she wasn't telling the man who once got bankrupted by Obadiah Stane, fell into alcoholism, and nearly froze to death on the streets that he doesn't know what it's like to struggle.
The weird thing is that Tony has done things that merit someone giving him hell every so often (Mainly what he did during both civil wars) but Hell-Cat never refers to that and also, like, at least wait for him to be out of the hospital before yelling at him or maybe getting a nice "Thank god your not dead and I love you a lot" diner first?
@@theelementalstation947 That's a very good point. There ARE things he can be taken to task for, but she seems weirdly fixated on his status, and he doesn't give so much as a "If you don't like me, then leave." Does Tony simply not have any other female friends he can confide in? Again, that could be an interesting consequence of the Civil Wars and his personality to explore, but that's just speculation about why Hellcat and not... Pacing is fine for me for right now and I find it amusing, but I do wish for a bit more She-Hulk action. However, I think this will pick up with whoever's lab Jack escaped from comes for them. I do like how how connected to continuity it seems to be. Between all the previous She-Hulk series being referenced, the Hellcat scene, and the suspiciousness around Jack of Hearts since his words/memories don't match with his history it feels very connected to the greater Marvel universe. I like getting that feeling from a Marvel comic again since I've been reading lots of Krakoan X-Men which often doesn't feel connected to the greater universe despite the world defining events/decisions happening in those books.
I would really like to believe that there is room at Marvel for a Shulkie slice-of-life comic. I hope that with all the movie and merch money they can afford to free up the artists/writers to have some fun.
Count me in the party of people enjoying the way RR's writing She-Hulk so far! I do like that she writes with the goal of doing longer story arcs over many issues, although it is troublesome for a comics format since there's no guarantee you'll be able to play out everything you set up. This tragically happend with Runaways when RR was writing for them and I'm forever salty about that. I did see online somewhere that her run on She-Hulk was extended to ten issues, so we'll be getting slightly more, I hope it runs as long as possible!
4:39 Surprised there aren't superheroes just being made through radiation for cancer treatments. ☢️ It's either radiation making superheroes or _chemicals._ Either falling on someone or someone falling into a vat of them.
11:13 wait what? Are we going to just ignore that one of Marvel's oldest continually used characters (but not best remembered characters) is dating/engaged to Tony Stark? When did this even happen!? I am so confused. When did they even start having a relationship?
Despite having never read anything She-Hulk or Jack related, I'm loving this series! I'm glad I decided to pick it up, I like some lightheartedness to break up the endless parade of multiverse-shattering crossovers in comics.
6:15 That's an issue I had with a romance novel I was reading and some tv shows I've seen. Characters would speak like that, and it just feels awkward. It sounds like a blog journalist or video essayist trying to write dialogue.
All I can say is this is way better than the character trashing that Jason Aaron did to She-Hulk in Avengers. Oh, and Hellcat is totally out of character in Iron Man. She's more like classic Hellcat in THIS book!
I have noticed in modern comics, as of the last 2 years, there is a lot less action in superhero comics. I mean, there is so much sitting and talking in Marevel that it feels boring. That's just me, but I still love She-Hulk.
Like being stuck behind a senior citizen driving an old Pontiac Bonneville on the freeway. This will get cancelled in a year and that will be when the so called "Little House on the Prairie" storyline reaches its' milk-toast conclusion. And don't be fooled by these fake "Rah rah's" they don't read comics, they're hired fans. Paid to pump up possible readers. They're part of the problem.
The panel with Hellcat saying Tony has a God Complex has the same energy of someone winning a twitter argument. That's the exact face they would have for the take that ironman is privileged
Jen has comics where fighting isn't the main focus and that's fine especially since Bruce is going angst again. I mean since Jen had rough couple of years, maybe it's better that they use this series to do a soft reboot on Jen to back to traditional She-Hulk status quo. Also Tony, maybe marry the other Red-head near you aka Pepper. I mean might as well man.
[record scratch!] Hellcat is Tony Stark's girlfriend?? What happened to Pepper Potts?? Oh, right...bad writing. It's that whole "main characters can't have good stable relationships - for more sales " BS.
Love your vids and the new She-Hulk series. It's been a breath of fresh air. And yeah, I really hope to see her and Jack get together, for however long it'll last, it'd just be nice to see.
Glad this is part of my pull list. I have more than enough serious adventures through my weeklies. Jack of Hearts was a surprise to me; I am old enough to be familiar with him years yonder. Rainbow has thus far given us an easy, pleasant introduction of Jen's new life endeavors. Antonio/Renzi have solid, whimsical angles of art. I like it thus far. Looking forward to issue #4.
From the decor, I thought Tony and Hellcat were doing their business in a dingy motel. That spun into me thinking She-Hulk didn't approve because one or the other was married which turned into "You're Iron Man, you can afford a better place to bring your mistresses to".
I just really love the art and the covers are gorgeous but and it's great to see Patsy and Jen just doing friend stuff and the fact that Jen's living in the exact apartment form her 80s run is amazing but it would be nice to see some action
The strength of Jen as a character, the art, and the potential interesting mystery surrounding Jack's return are pulling me through this one, but it is starting to feel like this series was a quickie side project that was thrown together to briefly tie in to an upcoming TV series but that Marvel editorial doesn't really care about. Dan Slott is doing more with her in his FF book, but that might be because he has a fondness for the character after writing one of her best loved runs.
It’s Cute 🥰 & Light Hearted, which we need in a world with Cringe Worthy things like that “ IRONCAT” Relationship 🤨 I’m Surprised You didn’t bring up MJ when Jen called Jack Tiger 😎 I’ll stay with You on this Journey as long as Your whims takes us there …Keep Up The Outstanding Work Sasha 🖖🏾 Vids 3 of the last 4 days ✊🏾
I actually love this. For I always thought she-hulk works best when her stories are character-driven. That and I'm getting more of an "I am here for you Jack vs I can fix you Jack" vibe from Jennifer. Like she wants to get help, but she is also showing Jack enough empathy here so that this dynamic they find themselves in feels honest and organic. Like I'm reading this as Jennifer being enough of a true friend for Jack that she is not willing to dismiss his fears or should I say issues he has with their past teammates.
After the last few years of character assassination I really don't mind the pacing. Feel like they are working her back to the She-Hulk we know and love. I just hope they have a solid plan for the story either way mini or ongoing.
Nothing happens and I'm here for it. A slice of life story is always a nice palate cleanser. I get some people read this series just for the plot, but I also really enjoy these covers.
@@thebandwagonfanpodcast They're supposed to be deal with Nimrod, again... Yet how it's going it's most likely gonna be a mutant civil war... Yet currently there's a lot of talking and stupid soap opera mess.
Linkara's ROM-trospective was the first place I had heard of Jack. Afterwards I began reading ROM but I got sidetracked and didn't get to Jack showing up.
For the genre I don't mind them lamp-shading some of the heavier material to focus on softer subjects. But I do wonder if this comic should've been called Jen & Jack instead of She-Hulk with the focus it puts on him.
Regarding Hellcat and Iron Man in that hospital scene: does Marvel not have an editor anymore? Because that straight up read as an antagonistic mocking the protagonist. And that concept could really work but something tells me this is not a cross section a cleverly written bit of character work where the love interest is actually the antagonist and the consequent sorrow and betrayal plus the lense of privilege and responsibility that looks at Tony's character in a new light and conflicts that lets his character grow. But just some really bad ham fisted writing about real world buzzwords that comes off as cringe.
Great hair as always Sasha! I am mildly amused by this new She-Hulk series so far, but its pacing is starting to wear me down. I'm starting to lose the high from the only fight scene so far back in issue #1. Call me Old School, but as much as we love the soap opera stuff, if you don't squeeze in some comic book superhero action every few months, it might be why our favorite jade Amazon gets canceled so often. Hopefully Rainbow is taking us somewhere fun! If not, I can always go back to Jen's first few issues back in 1980, where I was happiest with the character, while I wait to see what the Disney+ series does with her.
Thank you for this video!! I went to my local comic book shop and picked up #2 and #3, and they're basically everything I was hoping! It seems like a printing error in the Canadian price meant that all of #1 has been bought by speculators, but the shop owner said that he's ordered in the second printing (!), so I'm hoping to pick that up soon!
Not really. Comics in general have millions of characters, so some of them are guaranteed to get swept to becoming D-List to even Z-List characters. Personally, I first learned of Jack back when I was around 10, from an encyclopedia of all things.
@@luigiboi4244Absolutely! I understand that. But since he's been gone so long and has returned in 2 titles at the same time, that's what confuses me about his celebrated return in one, but not the other. That's all.
Yea it’s beyond annoying that comics don’t use thought balloons anymore, what’s up with that? You never see them anymore, but manga is full of them, every single manga I’m reading has them on every second page.
This is an odd detail, but I really liked how the interior colors of this comic aren’t overly rendered. That, mixed with the saturation, gives a classic vibe that I really dig. (Plus, I’ve never been a huge fan of the airbrushy Photoshop shading that so many Marvel and DC comics have used since the late 90s/early 2000s.)
Did she explain why she stays in She-Hulk form? Lol. Gotta love that Hellcat voice. Appreciate the green hair Sasha. I think there needs to be more slice of life in comics- the whole reason Marvel comics became great is that they treated the characters like real people. They have problems, they have issues, they sometimes can't pay their rent on time. It's relatable.
You know I never how much I wanted more slice of life She-Hulk romance stories until now. I mean I would love an action She-Hulk series, but it would be cool if they did have this mellow romantic series alongside it. Also I do love romance tropes, they sustain me and nourish me. Also this pairing feels like it’s drawing from past interactions to make something surprising. You know instead of the other couple mentioned in this book that give me the impression superhero pairings are done with a goddamn dart board.

Not only does this issue need jazz, it must be SAXAPHONE jazz.
Cantwell run
Yeah, I always liked Jack too. I was introduced to him in the Silver Surfer series from the 90’s. He has a cool costume and cool powers .
Great video, Sasha! Diggin the hair for this one. Love the outro music!! and your lipstick is on Point!! 🥰
Despite having never read anything She-Hulk or Jack related, I'm loving this series! I'm glad I decided to pick it up, I like some lightheartedness to break up the endless parade of multiverse-shattering crossovers in comics.
The next time my wife claims she is not in the mood, I am going to call her the literal poster girl for self love. That should do the trick.
I could see Marvel doing a comic book by the name She Hulks boyfriend Jack of hearts
Lol I just want some long convoluted titles again, but I'm probably the only one
@@CasuallyComics not alone, I am right there with you
6:15 That's an issue I had with a romance novel I was reading and some tv shows I've seen.
Notice that berserk book in the background. A video on Berserk would be awesome!
I'm here to see how many people call Sasha out on Lockjaw/Lockheed...
Looking forward to issue #4.
this she-hulk book makes me so happy
I'm a DC guy but I'm completely entertained by your presentation. It's coming off as a superhero romance novel.
Is there really a point to putting a leash on Lockjaw, a giant dog that can teleport?
I am enjoying the fact that you are enjoying this, which makes it worthwhile in my book.
“Tough love puppy” That’s just insensitive verbal abuse there
"Will somebody please punch something!" Is what happened to me when I read Young Heroes in Love
Too many animals whose name starts with Lock.
Good grief, that's how they're writing Hellcat now?!? Tony came back to life for THAT?! (I mean plotwise.)
seeing tony in pedestrian clothes with a pair of headphones was suprisingly fun
After the last few years of character assassination I really don't mind the pacing. Feel like they are working her back to the She-Hulk we know and love. I just hope they have a solid plan for the story either way mini or ongoing.
I'm loving how many uploads there's been this past week 😁
Nothing happens and I'm here for it. A slice of life story is always a nice palate cleanser. I get some people read this series just for the plot, but I also really enjoy these covers.
I'm fine with slice of life in Marvel when there isn't a looming threat overhead. Here it's refreshing yet in X-Men I am annoyed by it
@@ExeErdna That's totally fair! I think you said it perfectly. I'm not reading the current X-Men but that does sound like a bummer.
@@thebandwagonfanpodcast They're supposed to be deal with Nimrod, again... Yet how it's going it's most likely gonna be a mutant civil war... Yet currently there's a lot of talking and stupid soap opera mess.
Just love Sasha spelling the tea about Marvel heroes romances, I want more
I love you're matching she-hulk makeup and wig you look stunning as always
I saw that ROM SPACEKNIGHT pannel. Go on, do more ROM. You know you at least want to cover Rick Jones' storyline in it.
I was hoping someone would notice ROM lol
Linkara's ROM-trospective was the first place I had heard of Jack. Afterwards I began reading ROM but I got sidetracked and didn't get to Jack showing up.
@@CasuallyComics My dad actually owned a ROM comic back in the day. It's how I learned about him for the first time.
I just hope this mini series keeps going for your explainations of it
For the genre I don't mind them lamp-shading some of the heavier material to focus on softer subjects. But I do wonder if this comic should've been called Jen & Jack instead of She-Hulk with the focus it puts on him.
honestly the hellcat tone deaf moment was soooo good lmao I would run too
Tony needs bail out QUICKLY!
I'm legit hoping when he proposes in issue 20 she just says no and kicks the ring out of his hand lol because my word...
I felt like I watching a domestic abuse scene in a drama. What was that? "Tough love buddy"?! 👀
It’s Quite a romance where the She-Hulk is the less bizarrely-looking of the pair (and by a good stretch) 🤔✌️
That out of place Aladdin reference had me snorting
I have been out of the loop for so long that I didn’t even know that Patsy and Tony even knew each other, much less being engaged.
I never heard of Jack before, but he's also in Silver Surfer Rebirth. Curious why people only care that he's in She-hulk.
Is that weird?
I think he might be a character who is important when he is there, then forgotten when he is not.
That's all.
Im honestly curios where Sasha buys her wigs each one is amazing in every video.
Tony & Patsy 🤔 Well at Least Ollie & Hal weren’t Sleeping Together during Their Toxic Relationship “HARD TRAVELING HEROES 😎 🖖🏾
Did she explain why she stays in She-Hulk form?
Lol. Gotta love that Hellcat voice. Appreciate the green hair Sasha.
Favorite Sasha Quote: "there is liquid honey and then there is solid honey" "You're not safe around me. I drained your energy last time." Feel like I could tailor that into a pick up line. Lol
She Hulk: I had to teach someone how to eat, drink and go to the bathroom today.
Spider-Man: Cosmic being?
She Hulk: Amnesiac Super Hero.
those lines from hellcat in that iron man comic got me wonder. Tony why are you dating her??? or am i reading that so out of context cause man that toxic
Side note. They should have just called it a Sicilian pie instead of thick crust. 😉
She actually does call it "the best Sicilian in New York City" about half way through the comic book.
@@josequintana3669 Thanks. Now I have a good reason to read it again.
Tony doesn't feel he is hard enough on himself to "stay honest", so he's getting into an abusive relationship where her criticisms aren't helping
I honestly wouldn’t mind waking up to a giant green woman poking me with a pizza box.
I think there needs to be more slice of life in comics- the whole reason Marvel comics became great is that they treated the characters like real people. They have problems, they have issues, they sometimes can't pay their rent on time. It's relatable.
I'm getting Harvey Birdman, Attorney-At-Law vibes.
A green wig! You're channeling both She-Hulk and your strong will today!
I think we need to jump at least three sharks before we're at Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane. And boy would I love if we got there
You know I never how much I wanted more slice of life She-Hulk romance stories until now.
I’m really loving the series.
"There is liquid honey, and there is solid honey." 😆😆😆😆 Casually hilarious as ever.
