Great video! Watched several times in preparation to installing the Stealth Hitch. My Model 3 was delivered November, 2018, and there are 6 additional 10mm bolts holding the bumper fascia to the gravel guard, in addition to the clips you mention. When I pulled the top of the bumper fascia away from the body clips, the bolts were plain to see and needed to be removed to separate the two sections.
@@tesbros Makes perfect sense! In installing the Stealth Hitch, I needed to remove the gravel guard to be able to easily cut an opening that didn't exist on my 2018 Model 3. Newer versions have a removable panel already part of the gravel guard, or you can just buy a new gravel guard if you don't want to do the cutting and fussing with attaching the cut piece back in place when the receiver is not plugged in.
Good video. After DIY'inga hitch install this morning, there are two things that are a PITA. (1) Removing the taillights. I cracked one and I suggest assuring you only pull STRAIGHT back. A slight angle will break the lights. (2) Reinstalling the bumper. I suggest clipping the middle part first then working carefully towards the sides. 4hrs by myself.
Thank ya! We do say that in the video to pull straight back. They’re easy to break. And for reinstalling, very true. We explain it further on how to best align in our model y rear bumper removal. Glad it was a successful project!
Thanks for posting this vid. I just ordered a receiver hitch for my 20-22 long range. I know it's going to be slightly different but this is All the important stuff.
You saved my trips to Tesla Service center!! Thank you so much... The tough part is attaching the Bumper back, I missed to remove all other three screws, and it was nightmare without this video... min 4:10 to 5:15 is too important... and also "we need to install the bumper back in the reverse order of removing it"
Very good video, thank you. The bumper is not well aligned on my model 3. The trunk touches on the left side and the gap is about 2.5 to 3mm on the right. Do you think it is possible to adjust the position through a removal and reinstallation of the bumper? Thanks for you advice. Antoine
My bumper fender gap is not as close as it was before removal (where you use painters tape). I have unclipped and re-clipped it several times and the gap is still larger than before. Is there any adjustment? What could I have done differently, it’s like there is a slight sag. I did swap my original gravel guard for a new one with a trailer hitch door.
There is an arrow in the middle of the bumper where you are supposed to align first. Then, work your way back and forth until you get to the sides. This works a lot better with two people so you can both cover the same parts at the same time as you work your way around. Assuming you've done all that and it still isn't in correctly, you might want to open it up again and check for broken clips.
Is there a way to reach the connector for the trailer ecu without removing ? Teslas Tutorial shows that they are disconnected the cable before removing the Bumper. I want to check first if the connection and maybe trailer mode working without toolbox
I would check Tesla parts catalog first - epc.tesla.com/. We can add that to our list, but try installing it from doing everything in this video in reverse. And let us know if you have any questions.
Are you thinking about installing a hitch? Traveling or moving? Let us know in the comments!

That is correct if you want to remove the guard from the bumper. In this, we end up not doing that and just keeping it connected.

Just wanted to come back and say thank you. Replaced my bumper today and I couldn't have done it without your video. Thanks from the UK
That's awesome! Glad to help.
Is it the same for the 2024 model?
@@Mircekoun we will be doing a video soon. Similar with some adjustments.
@@Mircekoun The design has changed. Wait until tesbros does an updated video.

Nice video! Don’t forget to bring a towel! 💨
Thank you!!! I had asked not too long ago so really appreciate the demo. Super detailed.
Glad you found it useful!

If it wasn’t in a accident, most likely. Just align it down the middle. You’ll see where the arrows meet and that’s how you know it is aligned.
Any luck doing this? I have the same issue with my trunk with the right side hitting the bumper and the gap on the left
Hi Michael, I did not do anything in the end. I chickened out :).
Excellent video thank you. 🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful, thank you!
Beautifully presented 💪A+
Thank you.

Thank you!

Is it easy enough to just remove the bottom plastic without needing to remove the full bumper?
Yes, it’s just a bunch of 10mm.
@@tesbros awesome, thank you
Thank you
Thank you great help
Great vid
Thank you for this great video. Is this already the model with electric trunk? Do you know it the process is the same for a 2022?
This is a 2018 so no power trunk, but yes it's the same process!
@@tesbros thank you
Hi! Do I need to somehow turn off the car's electrical systems to remove the bumper? Are there any errors after installation?
no, you should be fine!

@@alexinked yes on the newer rear diffusers there is a slot where you can remove at the bottom to access trailer area.
@@tesbros it’s a 2023 M3 SR but it doesn’t has the slot. I may try it by myself with both tutorials to check that out. Thanks 🙏
Hey @TESBROS Where did you get the diagram at 4:13? Is it a manual available online?
This is available in your Tesla EPC online. If you have a Tesla, you can access it.
@@tesbros I have a Tesla but I don't know where you are talking about. I've logged into my account and i can't see anything.
The issue was the left tail light by the electric charging lens. It’s it’s a harder tail light.
Was there any disconnecting a speaker or subwoofer
No
What's above the plastic shielding that's attached to the bumper?
Where is the t25 @ 4 mins?
Did the car have to be reprogrammed when you fit it back on?
Nah it should work fine right away. If you have issues, just do a hard reset and it should work.
where to buy rear bumper and how about cost?
I would contact your Tesla service center about cost and ordering the part
Can you please suggest where to order rear bumper online. Also can you please post a installing the rear bumper.

Yes, I have a question, can you come and replace my bumper please
Too dark of video, can’t hardly see.
