- [4K] An INSIDE look at USS Torsk Navy Submarine in Baltimore, Maryland. It's a self-guided tour. Admission is $20 and also includes two to three other historic ships you can go on as well.
"Commissioned for the United States Navy on December 16, 1944, the USS Torsk was the only submarine out of its Tench Class fleet of ten to see service during World War II. Over eighty sailors lived aboard Torsk at particular times. In these very crowded conditions, the only way to pass someone was to turn sideways. After numerous war patrols and duties as a training boat after the war, the Torsk arrived in Baltimore to serve as a museum and memorial in 1972." - historicships.org/explore/uss...
Tour filmed August 2022 at the Historic Ships in Baltimore, Maryland
If I wasn't in South Carolina I would take my dad to see this. He was in the Navy and fought in Vietnam. He was on destroyer's but still he would love this.
Wow!
This is amazing! such brave men to live, work and fight inside this incredible machine. I would not last 5 minutes.
This is awesome. I'm from Massachusetts and up here we have Battleship Cove. It's worlds biggest collection of WWII Naval Vessels. It's just like this, self guided tour through all the Battleships and submarines. If I ever go to Baltimore I definitely want to check this out.
I loved visiting Battleship Cove. It was a great experience.
If my grandpa was still alive he would love this
I served in the Navy 14 years and was never stationed on a submarine. Now females can get assigned to them. They look cool but I’ve met other veteran sailors that have PTSD from being stationed on them. They’re not to keen on daylight and work night shift jobs because of it. You’re not seeing daylight for a few days possible weeks when you’re out to sea. Great video!
*saluting*
I'm watching 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea right now this makes it more immersive.
This was awesome thank you.
Thank you for the video!
A Navy Submarine Baltimore place is beautiful
I found that very interesting....thank you!
If I was ever to visit Baltimore, I will be sure to visit the USS Torsk. My father served on her sister ship (USS Argonaut) when she was sold to the Canadian navy and renamed HMCS Rainbow in 1968. I went on day trip on her in 1973 the navy call it a family day.
Amazing tour
Very similar to my first boat, the USS Runner SS476 Both two battery Portsmouth boats. Lots of memories there.
yooo I went in this same one in baltimore
Watching this video makes me think of the movie Down Periscope.
this is super mega ultra cool
As a Navy reservist i was assigned to the USS McKee, a submarine tender.
By US law i was prohibited from boarding the Navy's submarines
Submarines made today are huge, almost as large as the Seaview.
I feel like too many people have hurt themselves through this tour to many times lol.
I’m WAY too claustrophobic for this mess.
And I went in the full walk-through inside the ship right next to the submarine in the 2010s.
my Grandpa Ernie A Jankowski was in that submarine in the Sovent Union He was in the Navy that time He died in April 16 2016
There is soooooo much going on in here. Future submarines gonna look like the inside of a yacht sooon. With all the buttons up-front like a space ship. Lol
It's sad (but understandable) we don't get to see the inside of modern subs. Would love to see one.
It's amazing.
3:16 Why do only old submarines have doors like this? These new submarines have round hatches.
Huge compared with an Oberon
No talking, no flashy graphics. We are allowed to use our imaginations to feel the claustrophobic horror it must have been like to be on this ship during WW2.
wouldn't a real sub have things for sailors to hold onto so they can brace for impact and not get flung around?
I didn’t see any PlayStation handles in the control room. Weird.
The first instructions were ignored. Turn a face all ladders.
Zootopia in Shanghai Disneyland is about to be completed. And Universal studios in Beijing. Welcome you to play😆
It’s not yellow!
i live in this city
This is not as spacious as Submarine Seaview.
6:10, where tushies drop those brown stinky torpedoes in the toilet. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
An it’s haunted too.
claustrphobics need not apply!
We can see you apparently don’t listen to instructions
