- A video documenting my over 200 hours inside of the circle clicking game known as osu!
This video goes over everything I have done up until around August 2024, which is when I started editing this. I talk about how I got interested in this game, the milestones I achieved and how I got there, as well as a bit more.

I didn’t want to add it to the video since it felt out of place, but I have been working on this project for around 3 months at this point. This video is by far the longest thing I’ve ever created and I have spent probably tens of hours putting everything together. @InkLyned Quite the opposite actually, I've got like 1.5x the playtime and number of plays. Im guessing probably overplayed cuz I stagnated for a good few months without improvement and have just started hitting 150pp+ on my plays.

I started around the start of august this year and have around 130 hours in the game according to my osu! profile and i've only just gotten my first 100pp play a couple weeks ago
Goated osu video. Congrats on your progress and its so awesome to see other people so enthusiastic about this game. I knew the moment I started playing it seriously again that it was something really special. Really fun game no matter where you are skill wise and what your intentions are. Also I'm so surprised you never heard about Your Name until recently thats crazy its a certified classic. I recommend Night is Short, Walk on Girl if you want another great watch. Oh and Wolf Children too but prepare yourself for tears. ALSO ALSO you're based for being a Mac player I actually started playing again because I found out about lazer and its compatibility with Mac! Mac superiority!!!

I agree with everything you've said tho, funny thing was I tended to avoid anime content before playing this game because I thought I was "above it" (sounds pretentious I know)
After playing this game tho? I don't care anymore I'll watch whatever the hell I want and I'll enjoy it
I'll definitely give wolf children a watch since I've heard many positive things about it, and yeah osu mac gaming is underrated as hell it might be a bit laggy but who cares it works

I love the last two minutes of this video so much 😭
One of the reasons I love osu! so much is because of the songs and the story behind each beatmap. I am probably a boomer of osu! now, because my time of osu was 2015-2019. Because your last two minutes of the video, I was able to recall all of my joyful feelings of discovering new anime and new visual novels that I wouldn't have known if I hadn't decided to download a certain map. It almost made me teared up. Looking back, it was a long time ago now. I even forgot that I used to have those feelings too. Thank you so much for including those last two minutes into the video 😭 I wish your journey will be as fun or even more fun than mine.

this really motivated me to keep on playing ive been playing this game for over 4 months now and the best I can do is barely pass a 5 star map by luck and a highest pp score of 52 thanks so much for this vid dude we appreciate you
keep going, 4 months in and I was the same. This game takes time to get good at so I encourage you to keep going until you get to that point

Also yeah I'm an acc player, I hate it when a play is held back by the accuracy which you get from it (my daidai play for example)

I mean tbh I think the reason I gained ranks so quickly was because I wasn't farming. Even now I think there are about 10 more untapped farm maps that I could abuse to get to mid 5 digit
I'm sure you'll get to 5 digit eventually as well, just make sure you're not tiring yourself out by playing too mcuh
yeah that sounds right, my top play is a total fluke of a 1 miss on marshmary 5* for 168 pp, haven't gotten close to recreating it since which is wild because I can remember barely passing that map
I did kinda farm from 350k down to 300k but I'm pausing playing for a while now, next goal is the emu1337 sidetracked day FC which can net 170 pp at 50x100 accuracy
This is so high quality and nicely edited. I appreciate how its not just random clips from twitch.

Honestly amazing, you've improved so much in such a short period. It's rare to see one that grows so fast in my entire playtime, just keep doing what you are doing now and you will be fine!
For me though, I hurt my arm mainly because of osu, luckily I am still young enough and only took one month to be almost recovered after seeing a doctor. If you ever felt like you've hit a wall, don't struggle to stay away from osu and take a small break. While osu might have changed our life, it's not worth devoting your entire life to it. Also, never doubt your ability :)

cant believe how much similarity we share, we both choked our first 200 so many times, we both got into anime because of this game, we both watched your name and recognized the radwimps songs in the movie from osu, we both changed our music taste to liking more anime and vocaloid songs because of this game, if not for this game i wouldnt have been the person i am today, and im proud of what i am right now, and its the same for you as well, no matter where a person is from, this game brings the same feeling to so many people. at the end of the day, we just play games for fun, and osu is just that, a fun game that changes people

It's very nice seeing someone whose video emanates passion for something, and i find yours really special, not just because you were a 6 digit like me and many others, but because i can feel the passion and dedication of someone from this video(That AAAHAHHHHHHHGHG, on daidai genome spoke to me VERY personally), and its uncommon for someone to put this much effort on a video(Not like i am an example, i mostly use this account as an timeline for my proud plays in osu!), and even if it's just an impression, it seemed like you got to the place you are by pure and raw effort, which is why this feels special, it's more common for really talented people to make these kinds of videos showing an explosive increase in skill, but this is natural, and just feels about right

I didn't have time to watch this whole thing, but I want you to know how heavily the thesis at the end resonated with me. I've been playing osu for over 7 years and it has truly defined who I am in so many ways through influences both in and out of the game. I also watched Your Name for the first time this year, and I've gotta agree that it's a wonderful experience.
That's okay, I'm glad the ending resonated with you as much as it did for me. This game changes people and I wanted to put it in a way that would get across to other people
Your video made me look into all my old random clips I had and surprisingly I had a lot ever since I started playing. I went in a completely different direction compared to you. I was instantly hooked with learning stream maps and flow aim maps and I very much neglected jump maps which I now regret xd. Recently got my first 300 on a stream map tho but anything jump map, ill be surprised to get over 200 xd. Anyway rly sick vid, good effort was put into it. Have fun clicking circles.
Yeah I was more interested in hitting godmode clips on jumps rather than streams, probably a bad decision because I can barely stream 180 with good acc (the honesty fc near the end says it all)
@@InkLyned hey stream maps can also be nice clips depending on the stream difficulty. 180-190bpm is my comfy zone but I can do 210 if I push myself harder, 220 on a rly good day xd. Even tho u r higher rank than me(I'm currently 113k) I can still give u a tip. The way I've been improving is just playing all sorts of maps, not just specific types, obviously streams is my main thing but I haven't hyper focused on such maps. It may be slower but there are periods where I notice I've gotten better at many diff type of maps. If you only do jump maps but wanna improve in other areas I suggest just slowly mix diff types and not everything at once. Since I already play all kinds of maps all I did was just focus a little more on jumps. Don't neglect what u r good at tho.
@@voxarts933 the funny thing is i didn't start going all in on jump maps until very recently, I'm pretty decent at every other skillset (maybe not ez but I'm working on that) so I think the main thing right now is just playing more maps that combine most skillsets

My improvement stagnated for 6 months twice is probably the reason for my rank.
If you're ever stuck in improvement either take small breaks or grind one skill set than rather than play everythinf.
In the end I'm still pretty happy where I am rn but seeing ppl in top 100 joining literally 1 or 2 days earlier is kinda weird bc I could also be there

The worst part is that I improved pretty fast at first (set my first 300pp and 7* fc within around a year I think), but it took me 15 months to set a 2nd 400...
As a higher ranked player I love seeing videos like this showing that the community is growing and being positive as at a higher level the community is very focused on Metas and Drama about players and maps rather than just enjoying playing the game and listening to the songs.

I have been the classic trope of the off and on player, with long breaks broken by short months of intense game play. Recently, I've been much more methodical with my training and my sessions, structuring them to build and maintain foundational skills and slowly but not overly pushing my limits with higher difficulty maps. Even taking time to watch replays to actually hold myself more accountable and see where I'm improving and where I need to correct bad habits. For now the lesson from another video of dedicating time to playing below 2* to work on the basics has helped me tons. I'm currently still in the awkward phase of getting better at 3* maps but unable to pass 4*(Mostly because I'm focusing on acc.). Any tips for these lower difficulty maps where 1/10th of a star rating can be a major spike in difficulty? Also, do you recommend the rehab maps for someone that doesn't have a particular specialty with a general all around no mod play style?
tbh while I respect the dedication, I think at this point its still to early to be worrying about whether or not you can do everything
Yes I would 100% recommend the rehab maps if you don't have any preferences for what maps you like since they are all rounder maps that test aim and streams. But if you can't pass 4 stars then I don't really see a reason to go all out with training
I PERSONALLY think you should just train aim and bursts with the rehab maps until you can fc 4 stars, then just play whatever the hell you want, once you can fc 4 stars the floodgates open up to a lot more options of playing

- AR8, Hidden, Tech, average 900 combo top 100, AR11 is within reach of sight reading, very high combo consistency for anything under 6* and under 200bpm.
Tldr: Why is everyone better than me in less amount of time. ;-;

I wish i had a spark to play the game once again but ive lost to it when i reached 30k on mania but once in a while i try to comeback to the game

Good video! One tip is that you can pitch up the mp3 for the before recording the replay so that osu sounds aren't pitched up.
Yeah I didn't think of that before recording all the footage and it would've been a pain to rerecord all of it (which is why most of the replays aren't pitch adjusted and this video has a shit ton of copyright claims)

I just think that mouse players like me play to pain (fun*)😂😂😂, also im 140k in osu , nice video mate , your play time is good compared to the rank you've ❤ (my play time sucks 😂), but for me i knew osu bec a friend of mine who plays valorant was playing it and he actually was playing 3* and i was like woah how you do that ... and started playing to improve my mouse aim , but what i realized that whatever i do in osu wont improve my aim , so i changed my target from improving aim to improving in playing osu , bec its fun ❤ , i really like osu + watching anime

The thing is I already play lazer sometimes, I have a 227pp play on sendan life (the short version) so I would definitely say its viable for everyday play
The only problem is that its kind of bland, don't get me wrong I don't think it looks bland and I could definitely get used to what they're going for but osu is BUILT off of its community and the fact that such a big part of skinning is getting removed in current lazer really kills me inside
Also on macos theres a really weird screen tearing issue which isn't a big deal but it never appeared when running stable through wine
Actually I already use lazer for mapping so I would say that its significantly better for that they just need to implement the rest of the mapping features (storyboarding, adding video, actually being able to upload beatmaps directly from lazer)
That's basically every reason, from playing lazer it's actually pretty good and if osu staff cut off support for stable today I think its in a good enough place that I would just move to lazer, but since the options still there (and theres no sliderhead accuracy) I'll keep using stable
