Simon’s a monster. After he left AC/DC, they never recovered. Fly on the Wall is the single greatest hard rock drum LP of the entire 80’s decade. I saw him live in ‘85 and it was a religious experience (5th row center). I’m more interested in seeing SW than I am in Queenryche.
I think Simon must have been about 14 when his band Tora Tora opened for mine at a local college. He had a silver double kick drum kit & from the moment he started we all had our mouths open & there was no point trying to follow it. We played our little show with some embarrassment if I'm honest. He deserved his breaks & career.
This is a great drummer and very lucky to play with such a great name in music but its never the same without Scott Rockenfield , such a great asset to music, one of the greatest drummers in all of the land.
Except this isn't the real Queensryche. This was Geoff Tate's solo band after he was out of the band. There was a lawsuit, and the original guys got to keep the name with their new singer.
Good drummer... but it should be specified that this is Geoff Tate's Queensrÿche - there will only be one drummer in the real Queensrÿche (and only one Scott Rockenfield ever!) Also the sound of QR's drums is very much Paiste cymbals. While I love Sabians, it's the wrong tone for this music.
I agree certainly on this evidence that I've never witnessed anybody else for like Scott for his creativeness. I still listen to the Empire album for fill ideas. Fantastic stuff!
Scott R isn’t fit to carry Simon’s stick bag. Also, Geoff Tate IS Queensryche. Any other singer is a GT imitator. And other band is a QR tribute band. FACT.
He is so tight crazy....phil Rudd is and average player...hes so tight (at what he does) but compared to a real drummer. Simon Wright. Phil is very average

How come Scott Rockenfield (who is actually the drummer for Queensryche), doesn't have an artist spotlight? Surely he will use Vic Firth if you send him some sticks. .
Just because Phil doesnt play complicated stuff in acdc it doesnt mean that he cant. I mean we actually dont who good he is technically cause there are no videos where he does a drum solo so we cant juge his technique I guess
It's Geoff Tate's Queensyche. The REAL Queensryche is now continuing with a new singer called Todd LaTorre. Simon Wright should get back with AC/DC now that Phil Rudd has messed himself up.

What ride is that? Wikipedia says "22" AAX Heavy Ride" but all I can find is "22" AAX ARENA HEAVY" listed on Sabian site. Doesn't seem the same.
