    Lyrics:
    Welcome you fool of blunder, insert rite of nether dreams
    Sheep or leader, your worth equals filth
    I grant illusions of purging flesh no dog shall be spared
    Pollution I carry unsuspected
    Erupted sanity I hereby sell you reign
    Fallen figures on their knees cry sacrilegious
    Enticed by fruits of life as death was sent to collect
    Silent praying spreads through the air without response
    Storm of sick and wealth
    Lights go out, stunning chill, waves of sin brought to kill
    Screams eroding panic explodes to their delight
    Storm of sick and wrath
    Fair angels demons follow, where there is grace they shall nest
    To smear their loathing and put them to rest
    Wings of gold ripped off cold left dead without a soul
    Upon dethroning their glory, a bleeding fist
    Bereft of life indeed
    Ripe and sweet, birth out of grain
    Rotting meat all that remains, sin may bring relief
    Witness in awe the sight of celebration
    Plow through it all, find nothing but deception
    Leap into the furnace flames attack in numbers, let them stroke
    Sanctimony breeds here undisturbed for reasons, no one knows and no one will
    Darkness leads, eminent in gifts levitate and shifts
    Watched from below transformed and flawed
    No one's left behind pain is here to stay these last of days
    Silent praying spreads through the air without response
    Storm of sick and wrath
    Lights go out, stunning chill, waves of sin brought to kill
    Screams eroding panic explodes to their delight
    Storm of sick and wrath
    Thief of them all portrayed as distant somber
    Hence they shall fall, provoked and in time to reap the call
    Fair angels demon follow, where there is grace they shall nest
    To smear their loathing and put them to rest
    Wings of gold ripped off cold left dead without a soul
    Upon dethroning their glory, a bleeding fest
    All that's left dies here with sorrow, where angels go demons follow
    Declining not shining deep is the pit where they all now sleep.

    This is seriously one of the best tech death records ever released from any band. Incurso is probably 2nd behind Necrophagist's Onset of Putrefaction and then Anata's The Conductor's Departure is 3rd on my personal list of all time favorite tech death records. Those 3 have just an immortal listening value to them in my personal opinion. Actually all of the full length records by those 3 bands all are phenomenal records and they have a legendary status in my eyes. They should definitely be in any tech death metal fan's listening arsenal.

    To the people who praise Muenzner; Sure, his solos are wonderfully crafted and he is one hell of a guitarist (especially the second solo is just amazing.) - but one thing should be clear to all fans of Spawn of Possession: The music is mostly the work of the band's founder and musical genius Jonas Bryssling. :D

    It is impossible to expect most of the world to get into this music. Some of us, however, like trained death metal musicians or practiced listeners, need something with more depth and more complexity. If you listen to this band once, you won't get it. If you listen to this band 3 times, you still might not get it. But when you do get it, it is musical enlightenment. no matter what your taste it is ignorant to knock down a group with such a high level of musicianship. It's not randomness, they

    It's quite the process to be able to hear separately the guitar's, drum's and vocal's and when band's like this have even more going on i.e. symphony in the back ground..it just add's even more layer's to sift through..but once you have the ability, i don't think there is any better music in the world..same concept with classical :p

    Yes it takes brain power to understand this music, it's not something you put on the background and half listen to. If you stop paying attention for a second, the music will leave you behind. When the music becomes familiar that is when it is most enjoyable. It is not randomness, these guys can play this stuff live the same way every time. It's precise music but to casual music enjoyers it sounds like chaotic noise at first listen.

    the only thing deathcore does is playing same sounding gay ass breakdowns... death metal has a very diverse sound, you can't compare this to cannibal corpse or aborted or death or obituary, they all have their own sound, and about the no talent part, check out muhammed suicmez, his father broke his first guitar as a kid, he wrote an entire technical death metal album without it at age 18, and it set a new standard for tech-death... no death core artist can say the same

    I don't agree with that. The only other band I have heard that sounds remotely similar to Obscura is Decrepit Birth and for obvious reasons they both sound like Death.
    The tech death landscape is cool because the lead players all individually have a sound and they usually (like Chuck) write all the music. I play guitar so the way I sometimes listen to tech death involves just focusing on one instrument and listening intensely. The good bands all sound very different.

    @DrEviscerator666 Have you heard the songs off Global Flatline? They're not Goremageddon, but the crunchy tone is back, and the drums are fantastic, so I'm happy :D Nile is probably my favorite band of all time, so no surprised there. Cryptopsy is making good stuff again? Definitely good to hear. I'd love to hear some new Suffocation or Vital Remains, and I also really enjoyed Cynic's EP. Good stuff everywhere!

  • @DoggoWillink
    @DoggoWillink 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you think this sounds like Obscura, then you clearly are mistaken. And as far as the anti-cosmic overload goes, I can play the entire song, and this is not similar to it. The approach is entirely different, and the sound. Because Christian played the leads on this, you can hear his style in the solos; but not obscura's style.

  • @Jimbengoz
    @Jimbengoz 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @mamaloney1 Since Death don't exist anymore, Obscura have achieved said status in the year 2009 with such tunes like Orbital Elements, Desolate Spheres, Universe Momentum and Centric Flow, total mind-overwhelming voyages through time and space. But I'd say the real Tech-Death Kings are Atheist with their new album. Haven't considered a band that has reformed recently, sorry :)

  • @Jimbengoz
    @Jimbengoz 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @mamaloney1 It's just that Obscura are the Kings of Tech-Death nowadays, so all the bands that showcase elements similar to them will result weak compared to such virtuoso heaviness. Same thing for my band, which is still chaotic (willing or not, my band is running through the whole history of Death Metal, from blunt chaos to thrash-infused sounds to technical stuff)

  • @kela92jd
    @kela92jd 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    This song is good but I am disappointed in it. Knowing the line up changed and expecting no change in sound is naive but I loved sop sound more than obscura and this new album is sure to some extent blur the line between the two sounds which I'm unhappy with. This album will no doubt be great but IMO will not top noctambulant.

    I don't get what everyone is saying about how they want to go back to Obscura after listening to this. Don't get me wrong, I love Obscura, but this blows them out of the water. There is way more involved with this, and for the first ten listens of each of SoP's songs you can find something that you missed in the previous listens.

    To people who are saying this sounds like, what you are hearing is christian's lead influence not obscura's influence. None of the riffs remind me of obscura.

    Don't look at the voice as something you have to understand in terms of words. Look at the voice as a bunch of cords connected to a human spirit as a natural universe born instrument that can make strangely beautiful noises.

    This is not the Spawn of Possession of six years ago.... just sounds like Obscura. Not bad, good wankery and all but I miss the old SOP

    For once in the endless sea of youtube comments of nothing but trolling and arguing, I think we can all agree this repeat button has been RAVAGED.

    @TheEnigmaticForm11 If you get a chance, (since they are a Vancouver band), go see Archspire if you get a chance. SICK tech death.

    This is so technical it makes most technical death metal bands seem like folk rock

    SoP sounds like SoP, it's a different style. Obscura is more progressive and fusion, SoP is straight up crazy technical death.

    @DrEviscerator666 Not just tech death but Cannibal Corpse, Aborted, Behemoth, Nile, Suffocation (maybe) and a shitload more!

    Arguing who is more technical, is irrelevant. I would say that Necrophagist is more complex and less linear than SOP. That however, does not take away from the badassery of SOP. I thonk this band is fucking genius, and I would love to see them live.

      Necrophagist more complex and less linear than SOP?! I love Necrophagist, but SOP is wayyy more intricate composition-wise.

    @ZombieDissectingDude Nope, it's Erlend Caspersen, his TH-cam name is Bajskung. He has been (or is) in a lot of other great bands: Deeds of Flesh, Vile, Blood Red Throne, The Allseeing I, Incinerate, Emeth, Decrepit Birth...
