This reed looks like N american reed. Has nothing in common with italian or german reeds, but sounds really good and round.

A good bassoon reed can also have a curved side, as found in some reed shapes sold by major German companies. The way he talks is not about a good bassoon reed. It is just about his good bassoon reeds. It sounds awkwardly authoritative, but somehow misleading.
