I listened this music for the first time yesterday (Ink Spots version) and i'm falling in love for it. It's good to see the owner of the beautiful and emotive voice of this wonderful song. Thanks
Notice the microphone the announcer uses at the begging and end an RCA DX-77 a TV version because its painted Matte gray so it doesn't reflect on camera unlike the shiny radio version.
If you search "Knickerbocker Beer Show" you can find it with no editing but there's only one channel. I'm not certain there's reverb on this though... back then live shows often had some natural reverb from the amplification of the host (and guests). I did apply a pseudo stereo effect for dimension though. My audio source was separate from what Anthony DiFlorio used. I think this is of higher quality with no skips or much background noise... although it does clip a lot throughout sadly.
@@garryclelland4481 he's famous for that vibrato, but his voice certainly exposes the limitations of both the amplification, the broadcasting equipment, and the recording medium it was archived on. There is loss of information at every stage, from amplification to digitization to youtube compression.
Such a unique beautiful voice, wish I grew up in that generation listening to this.
He was such a treasure.

Still don’t know what the hell he’s talking about but damn his voice is soporific.
Just.... Wow..
I hope folks understand how many huge hits he had in the 30s. and 40s. Long live the Ink Spots.

i reckoned that his voice was so powerful it clipped the primitive equipment and the vibrato was mainly an artifact or am i thinking wrong ?

Beats the hell out of the crap on the radio today.
Sure does
I wonder, is this clip from an early Steve Allen show?
Certainly it is, likely 'presented by Knickerbocker Beer'.....
The early ‘Tonight’ show.
Is this guy even singing in falsetto????
