    Have always been curious as to how you'd tackle a compact build like this. Super nicely done, it's crammed, sure, but everything makes sense and it doesn't feel cluttered. I like how you've managed to keep a few green spaces too which always helps make a park feel less crowded. Great work! Still can't believe you fit a reasonable looking wooden coaster in there, I was half joking when I suggested it on stream haha.

      You're only a few scenarios away, curious to see what you'll make work.

      This was one of the most fun scenarios to do so far since it was the first real 'challenge' to try and squeeze things in while still being sort of realistic. I was certain the wooden coaster was going to ruin that, but I'm happy you and the rest of chat kept pushing for it because I think it ended up working pretty well to fill out that side of the park. So a very good suggestion!

      Also fantastic advice regarding pathway layouts (I often go back to a pathway review you did for a nin/pac six flags park for your path wisdoms haha)

      @AmusementAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha thank you! I am self conscious of going far off on tangents at times-- but I guess that's kind of what this channel is about.
      Pathway layouts are one of my favorite things to think through so I do enjoy trying to translate that into the much more limited single wide stuff of the original game.

    I know you weren't keen on the idea of adding the woody but you did a great job at fitting it in amongst the existing rides and paths. Also I love the little detail of the entrance and exit buildings poking up out of the ground and surrounded by hedges, it's something I've always disliked the look of when I'm met with this but you made it look quite charming. This entire series so far has definitely taught me to embrace the more traditional and fixed aspects of the limitations given by the game as I often get a little hung up on things like this. Really enjoyed this one, thanks for sharing. Always looking forward to the next one.

      Thank you! I was definitely not sold on the wooden coaster, but I do think it turned out pretty well in the end. The entrance and exit huts are a constant annoyance for me-- that they're so tall and I can't rotate them in vanilla-- but stuff like hiding them with the hedges seems to be the next best thing. Part of this scenario series has been challenging myself to get over aesthetic issues like that which would bother me in any typical park build. So it's been a learning experience for sure. Thank you for watching!

      I love the idea of everything in this park being like 600 people per hour or less and then this Schwarzkopf is over here at like 3000.

    • @AmusementAcademy
      @AmusementAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's actually a really fun idea. Since we were so focused on making it compact, I'd be curious how it would look with the rest. I'll add that to the list of stuff to do. Great suggestion!

    I played this scenario myself in RCT2! It’s got a Vekoma boomerang, a custom TOGO standup coaster, a custom GCI woodie, a Schwartzkof launched double looper, and a custom B&M Invert

    It's so much fun to watch you play with space like this! Really impressive. I remember when I was a kid playing this level and discovering that you could tunnel underneath the highway to additional land, I felt like a genius. It's so cool seeing you be able to create these effective, compact coasters really create effective levels and STILL landscape neatly within the starting parameters. I'll definitely have to check out one of your livestreams on Twitch, because I feel like I lose so much just looking away for a second on a tight build like this.
    (I know I've asked before, and I completely understand your reasoning, but as someone who can only figure out how to play RCT3 on their mac, I would love to see you navigate some of that--while I totally agree that the mechanics, gameplay, aesthetics, etc. are just not as good or as satisfying as the original. I've tried to recreate some of your gameplay there, but I think I still need to experiment a bit more. I'm also really excited to see you start to get to some of the more challenging parks!)

    • @AmusementAcademy
      @AmusementAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you!
      You know it's funny you mention a tunnel because that never occurred to me-- I've always just done a bridge in the past. But a tunnel could be a much cleaner look! Good thought. If you can catch it on Twitch or watch one of the VODs, you will likely get a little more out of it perhaps since I do spend time talking through planning and things. But it's definitely a bigger time commitment to watch it all! I have thought about a 2nd channel here for uploading the raw stream files, but I'm not sure how much call there is for that.
      When I go back home in a couple of weeks for the IAAPA Attractions Expo, I'll see if I can find my RCT3 disk and install the game. I've played so little of it because it just wasn't my thing, but I would be open to at least screwing around with it later to see how it is. RCT2 is forever my aesthetic, but it's good to branch out sometimes!!
      Thanks for watching!

    I don’t know if you’re familiar with Deurklink, but he did something interesting with this scenario: he turns the entire thing into an indoor park. Main attraction was a vertical drop coaster that took up most of the space.

    Dinky Park is weirdly one of my favorite scenarios in the game. Something about the original park boundaries feels more nostalgic to me than most of the other parks in the game.

    • @AmusementAcademy
      @AmusementAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I honestly love the vibe of the park you start with. It's super charming and I feel like I can picture it in real life. Feels almost sad to cram a bunch of stuff into it, but I'm still happy with the result. It's been a lot of fun going back to these super nostalgic maps and playing them now, 25 years on.

    Not sure how common it is but I grew up near a park with the scrambler in a building and so I often place scramblers in buildings. Wouldn't be super realistic but I probably would have placed it under the Schwarzkopf and used that back corner for something else. Love the layout of the coaster and just overall its hard to make this small space work but I think it would be fun to visit and explore the different tiers.

    • @AmusementAcademy
      @AmusementAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've done a few of the indoor ones over the years-- the northeast has a number of them. I specifically remember Canobie Lake's. Six Flags over Georgia had a good one too before it was removed. In my head that Schwarzkopf is the roof of one big building that would have stuff like a scrambler and an arcade underneath. It's always a little weird in RCT1 where you can't really see into the space-- much better suited for RCT2 where you can have columns to allow for a little peek underneath. But I do think we can all use our imagination with it for now! Definitely a good way to make use of small amounts of space.

    I didn't know we could have put stalls underground in RCT1.

    • @AmusementAcademy
      @AmusementAcademy  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      With the original RCT1 you could not. You could raise/lower stuff with shift. But when that was added in OpenRCT2, it applied backwards to their port of RCT1 also which allows for it. Not sure if Classic lets you do it or not either, but in the original game it was definitely not a thing. Should've been though!

      That's the intended method of expansion but I think it's impressive that he managed it without that and without just pasting the same stat perfected coaster 10 times into the park over and over.

    • @AmusementAcademy
