BMW BRAKE & 4x4 warning lights reset

In this video I have a 2007 BMW X3. The BRAKE & 4x4 warning lights were stuck on, and i couldn't figure out why. Turns out this can happen when you replace a battery, or simply unhook the battery terminals.
NOTE! this is not the same fix for the BRAKE - 4x4 - ABS warning light issue.

This method should work on any BMW, but specifically for:
2004 BMW X3 X5
2005 BMW X3 X5
2006 BMW X3 X5
2007 BMW X3 X5
2008 BMW X3 X5
2009 BMW X3 X5
2010 BMW X3 X5

If you're 110% sure that all bulbs are working... (including the rear hard to get one) then you might have to get the FRM Footwell Module Reset. Unless you have the computer to do this, you'll need a tech. Never had experience with that though. Its always been either bad bulb, or bulb connector for me. good luck.

Try removing the positive terminal of the battery for a few minutes. Then repeat the steps.
If it still does not fix the light, then you have a different issue, outside my knowledge. Good luck.

I did that and mine goes away and came back as soon as I moved and hit the brake

If it only comes back when you hit the brake, then this is likely your transfer case actuator.
Well beyond my expertise and knowledge though. Sorry the fix I provided did not help you. Good luck.

If after multiple attempts it doesn't fix the issue, then its likely the Transfer Case Motor Gear is going/gone bad. Here is a link to the part, and you can find videos of replacing it on YT. amzn.to/48qSBRL

HI This only works to clear the two lights together, Brake and 4x4. For just the brake light, you can try this: Reset Your Brake Warning Light
Insert the key (or key fob) in the ignition.
Move the key to position 2, but don't start the ignition.
Open the driver's door and wait for approximately 10 seconds.
After completing the above three steps, the brake pad lights should reset!

After trying this, if it does not work. You can remove the positive terminal on the battery. Then put the battery terminal back on and repeat steps. If it still does not fix, you need to get a code reader to see what the fault code is. One like this for example: amzn.to/3M1Ndfb

@@murkoutdoors i had the transfer case opened and the parts are new.
Sorry i need to clarify my abs and break light and 4x4 is on. Its stuck driving fine in 4 wheel drive.
