I’ve been listening to these in Flashy’s own chronological order, and they are amazing. Brilliant blend of self deprecating humour and refreshingly bluff unapologetic jingoism. Might have to listen to them all again. 😂
I think I got more outright laughs out of this episode than out of all the others. Elspeth surprising Harry after so many decades of marriage, and in different ways, was just too funny. The series is just done masterfully.
The English language at it’s best. Buy the books if you can, they will give you more depth of information. GMF was a real historical scholar and a man with a great sense of humour and mischief . Check out his other books ; they will enhance your life .
@@jonshepherd2550 I'd still been thirsty for his work after finishing flashman and was most taken aback upon reading quartered safe to discover he was such a sweet innocent young lad.
I like the not-exactly tension with Flashman's disguise being examined. If GMF trying to point out flaws in Doyle's writing/Holmes's methods, or will there be a twist at the end where Holmes leans in once Watson is away and whispers "Have a safe night General Flashman."?

@@zopEnglandzip hmmmm interesting thanks
So true, the flow of the language as well as the comedy are remarkable. Are the MaAuslan books up to the mark? Thanks in advance
Such an amazing book , I love it

I love the Flashman books but sadly the whole book was entirely ruined by far too many revolting ads😢
Ublock and open youtube in the internet browser, not the app.
Debouchery, slovenliness, depravity and wanton disgregard for human dignity. Was there anything else that bothered you?
Other than the aforementioned, entertaining in a mean sprited sort of way. Ah, the good old days.
