@@TheRedc0met You might be right but it seems he definitely locks up at 1:21 and you can hear the tires sliding/squealing, the way he pushed that beast of a car is mind blowing!
@@evann5451 you might be right, but that happens when you turn the tires, they slowed down tho, and @TheRedc0met is kinda right but not for the right reason, because senna's throttle control is really strange, and it throws the balance of the car around a lot, but it might not be it, because the engine had very little torque and it was uphill with a decent bit of downforce to throw the balance that far to the back, and tires just squeal all the time no matter how slow or smooth you go.
Thats inner wheel lift while he was braking, you can clearly see it lift. He made the turn at that angle because when that locked front right wheel touched the ground just before the apex, it pushed the car around the corner. With 4 wheels going around, and the right front one locking up, the other 3 keeps going and pushes the car around to the right. This goes beyond simple car control as we know it, you have to really sync with the track too, and it's no secret that at Monaco, Senna did that.
He is not only the king of Monaco. he is the king of F1. Absolutely incredible. Doing this lap in a monster with a manual gearbox and no downforce crap that are fixed in modern F1 cars, i cant even imagine how hard it is to drive those briliant cars. Modern F1 drivers are nothing compared to the ones in 80s and 90s. Not their fault, the progress of engeneering is just mindblowing.
The safety part is good no doubt, but the reason that this video is so liked so much is the incredible sound of that car, the fact that it was manualy shifted etc... and that has nothing to do with safety. Technology has essentially ruined the sport as it has less than ever to do with driver skill and yes daring, than technology. Of course people were killed in F1 back then but of course people are still killed and injured in motor sports to this day. Indy car racing, Nascar, drag racing, virtually all forms of racing still come with some risks and it will always be like that. Taking steps to make it safer has not made it more boring. Technology has made it boring - very boring and F1 is undoubtedly the most boring of all motorsports to watch now. Very sad.

@@projectjt3149 im not disagreeing with you, but the f duct was used kind of liek drs to reduce drag. You wouldnt be using one hand in the corners. Also it would be much easier to control modern day f1 cars compared to the cars of the late 80s and early 90s. But f1 drivers today are still cool.

So, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Alonso, Hamilton, Clark, Stewart, Vettel, Hill, Lauda, Piquet, Fitipaldi, Rosberg... all of them are better than Fangio never was.
aka the best driver EVER
I truly believe this is one of the best videos on TH-cam.
When you watch this….you know why he was the best. Willing to push the car (and himself) to the absolute limit. Brilliant.
Imagine what was going through other drivers minds when they saw that yellow helmet getting bigger in their mirrors.
*Gulp*
"Fucking Aryton again -_- great..... I'm going to get lapped...again..."
*"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!"*
Dez Rosswess they were thinking: OH NO I M SCREWED!
BEST COMMENT I'VE SEEN IN A WHILE!!
Every year, during the Monaco GP, I come back to this video to remember how exactly it should be done.
me too.. :)
Thats the way you do it!
Ben what about bruno?
@@oldfridge5059 we dont talk about bruno
Chidiebere Ndukwu exactly✌🏻👍Every time I watch I find it hard to believe that it’s a human being that is in control of this incredible machine that even is manual shift ... Never ever saw a person doing the same
Every time I come back to this video, it still gives me goosebumps. Senna was the GOAT.
omg the sounds.. I got goosebumps while listening to this
SCHUMACHER : Another PLANET.
FANGIO : Another GALAXY.
SENNA : Another UNIVERSE !!
All right ....
Hamilton: An other record
Vettel: An other team order
Alonso: An other Gp2 engine
SENNA: another dimension
The fuck is fangio?
th-cam.com/video/MJSDHyRhrxk/w-d-xo.html oh just a guy who happened to drive 300km/h on 2CV tires without a rollcage.
Actually F1 drivers: It's hard to drive in Monaco
Senna: Hold my beer
this video is art, miss you Senna, even though i was born in 1996, you are my hero.
Magician, I can't get enough of watching, pure talent!
Ayrton the Best!
The concentration level he had was insane, and this is with h shift stick too. It really is phenomenal
top demais
tentando mestrar monaco no f1 99-02 e quis ver a aula do chefe kkk
Direto meu amigo, direto...
why do I cry everytime I see this?
Because it is out of this world and will always be. New drivers and cars are great but this...is just hard to compare.

Because you lost your personal hero and raw model as I feel too my dear friend, that’s why....

When the engine bottoms out past casino puts a lump in my throat everytime
We miss you Senna! Much love from Australia. The drivers driver!
Australia was his last victory and where he met Tina Turner, he was very fond of his country.
This should be in the Louvre beside the Monalisa! Magnificent piece of art! 🙌🤩
Imagine, 2 hours driving like this.
One would require a ridiculously strong neck, and a MASSIVE pair of balls.
MavErickChris so sick
I would end made a pile of crap, but with the widest smile on my face as possible.
When they told him to slow down in 88 he crashed .
Ayrton discovered the Matrix way before Neo! Always amazing to watch. Rip Ayrton 25 years...
This car had the colours of my favorite football team, the engine of my bike and my favorite person in the entire F1 history was driving it. I couldnt go wrong supporting them
The Greatest that ever lived all the others dream of being like Ayrton .
I've just watched Lewis Hamilton win his 6th World Championship.
This guy still is the best. Lewis would agree with that. Absolutely insane.
Lewis himself said Senna is his idol so lol
@SUPREME MEGATRON yes, Senna and Hamilton are in a league of their own
His is a gentleman and a Champion!!
@William Cook I'm pretty sure theres a video online of Lewis taking Sennas car for a drive
Idiot
Ayrton Senna.....EL MEJOR DEL MUNDO !!!!!! Saludos !!!! J.H.

O chefe pilotava demais.Ayrton Senna da Silva:patrimônio do Brasil.
My gosh he completely locks the wheels at 00:31, He was pushing that car to the absolute edge of control. What a driver.
I still have no damn clue how he made that turn at that angle
@@TheRedc0met You might be right but it seems he definitely locks up at 1:21 and you can hear the tires sliding/squealing, the way he pushed that beast of a car is mind blowing!
Z Malik Look at the tire lettering. They stop for a split second
Very sad.
André Silva Gracias!!!
André Silva No wonder Lewis Hamilton admire him, although it was later revealed that he actually admired Muhammad Ali and not older F1 drivers, including Ayrton Senna himself!
Farhan Maleq expect he has had a yellow helmet for his entrie career since karting...
Don't forget, those cars didn't have power steering in those days either.
On this day 29 years ago, Legendary Formula 1 Driver Ayrton Senna unfortunately passed away during the Itialian Grand Prix in Imola.
Aryton Senna was most loved for his unique driving style and his sheer passion for the sport. With 41 wins, 80 podium finishes and 3 World Titles to his name, Ayrton Senna will be known as one of the best Formula 1 Drivers in history.
We miss you a lot Ayrton Senna.. 🏎🏎
From a lifelong Dale Earnhardt fan. Ayrton Senna was my favorite F1 driver by far. I've not seen anyone better than him in Formula 1.
I am not going to disagree with you......but there was a driver at his level....Alain Prost.
Man he was licking the walls with his tires, LEGEND
New F1 drivers might be cool but they'll never be heel toeing, one handed steering around a corner at 140mph cool.
I'm going to disagree with you my friend, new F1 drivers aren't cool, they only think they are.
there’s even videos of drivers like Hamilton and K-Mag saying it’s just legendary that Senna went thru corners one-handed. (By any chance was the F-duct used in Monaco?)
mundulla sa it’s easy to say that as a viewer from the couch... all generations of f1 drivers have an ungraspable amount of talent, but senna showed drivers that he wanted it more than anyone, and nothing can stop him except reality, but he pushed that boundary to the limit like no one else could.
@@mundullasa223 let's see about that. LeClerc vs Verstappen is looking like a very spicy rivalry
Perfect synchronization between man and machine. Both at the absolute limit of perfection. Fantastic.
he missed a gear at 1:01 but he still one of his greatest laps around Monaco.. 😉😉😉
Eterno, maestro.
This is the late, great Brazilian racecard driver Ayrton Senna in action at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Roland Pemberton, aka "Cadence Weapon" wrote the song about the legendary racecar driver "Senna" and released it, becoming an instant hit.
"Senna, Senna, Senna" is the chorus.

pure aggression together with precision, control and on the limit. F1 doesn’t get any better than this.
Why does this look so much more FUN than modern F1?
Extremely difficult to control
