This is experience is kinda weird, the autotone is a little bit disguting (but at the same time it's like another instrument). Btw i'm gonna be honest, they sound really good and fresh. We need more new proyect like this.
Agreed. I love the music, but pretty much have an allergic reaction the minute I hear autotune. She can sing, the songs are good, so it seems entirely unnecessary as well. If it is like 'another instrument', it is like bagpipes or accordion, should be used in only the right situations.
1980-83 era Genesis vibes. I hated to miss them opening for Pavement at Edgefield., which seems like kind of a perfect match-up. I have to see them live someday!
re: 23:20 i dunno man, the spotify algorithm is what first hipped me to Guerilla Toss a few years back. it started throwing yalls songs into my daily mixes. i might not have knew the material if not for that first intro on the controversial music listening app way back when
It’s something they used early on and became a part of their neo-psych sound. Kassie’s vocals were less refined until recently. She really focused in on improving by working with a vocal coach before their new album.
this is like the most normie surface level understanding of contemporary music ive read on utube, none of those band are even close, if anything this is more like Devo zaniness + a broad palette of old and today post-punk + more synthesis
