Body horror is the scariest genre of horror in my own opinion. Just taking someone else’s body and completely altering it until it isn’t even recognizable as a person anymore is the scariest thing ever. This movie, Human Centipede, The Fly (kinda), is so fucking terrifying even more unrated films like Tetsuo the Iron Man.

I literally felt physically sick after seeing the reveal of what happened to him. I didn't even feel like that after the Human Centipede.
This traumatized a deep part of my brain. I never had a movie make me so disturbed that I had to stop watching it first time around.

LoL, I run a Fantasy Role Playing Game ( Dungeons and Dragons style Game ) and I created an NPC Magic User that used a powerful Polymorph Spell that temporarily turned a Player Character that one of my Friends has into a Seal. To be more precise, a Grey Seal from the description that I rendered . I had it so that the Man- Turned - Seal would have to undergo some "Treatment" from a more powerful Magic User than the One that cast the Polymorph Spell in order to be returned to normal . Of course I did not let my Friend KNOW that the Spell could be broken for several minutes and I sure did get a good chuckle out of my Friend acting like a Seal, You know, the kind of barking like a Sea Lion makes ,and even clapping His hands like they were flippers , as He was trying to communicate to others His "interesting " predicament. I even went so far as to have the " animal control " officers capture my Friend's Character and transport Him to the beach and release Him to go with the actual Seals that I had in the Game because as the plot went , those Officers thought that a Sub- Adult Seal had somehow gotten lost when It was attracted to the smell of fish at the Market in the City and wandered too far from the other Seals . The look on that Dude's face when He thought that Magic User " SEALED" the fate of His Character though 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 , PRICELESS ! For a moment , I thought that my Buddy was going to give up and stop playing that Character and want to generate a new One. Now I wonder if My Buddy will "seek vengeance" when He runs a Game and have " something awkward" happen to the Character that I have. Guess I'll have to wait and see. 🤣🤣

The "based on actual events" is a joke, but the movie premise is based on a joke ad that was posted online, offering free rent as long as the tennant didn't mind dressing up and acting like a walrus occassionally.
I really recommend Kevin Smith's other horror movies, so good man!

The fact that a farcical ad involved someone putting on a Walrus costume and "acting the part " for free rent is odd in and of itself . A WALRUS of all Creatures ? Why not a dog or dress up as a "Furry" for free rent ? I'm thinking that not many ( none actually) took the joke seriously .
The fact that when howard says ”walruses don’t cry!” And Wallace, or atleast the thing that, that is cries at the end, showing that Wallace is still trapped inside is so horrific and it makes this movie ending so good but extremely sad.

Salo is way worse than this because I feel like that happened in real life or Atleast can happen in real life. Human centipede is dumb and tusk was just.... idek. That movie is in a league of its own. It’s kinda “disturbing” I guess but it’s also funny as hell for no reason. Hereditary isn’t real and midsommar is pretty avoidable. But Salo..... That movie freaks me out the most because it just seems so realistic to me.

i had a friend absolutely obsessed with this movie, like he said he watched this move every night for like two weeks straight. literally would not stop talking about this movie at work. he would bring it up for at least a month straight, he would DRAW IT AT WORK! he was a caricature artist and he would DRAW ART OF IT! that movie corrupted that man, and i watched it with him. the entire time i felt an uncomfortable presence from that movie, it haunted me for weeks guys. i dont know why this movie was created, but i do know that i will never look at a walrus the same way ever again. i hate this movie.

The movie is based off a gumtree ad that was asking for someone to dress up in a walrus costume in exchange for rent. The part in the movie where he talks about the walrus he named Tusk saving him in the war is what was written in the advertisement, obviously the ad was just a joke but Kevin Smith ran with the storyline to make Tusk

I see tons of people comparing it to “the human centipede”, I think this is more disturbing since at least at the end of human centipede she walks away still as a person, just a little messed up but this guy there was no going back. I also think this walrus was scary AF but the centipede was just people stitched together but not too mutilated. I also didn’t think the humor in this worked
From what I remember she was stuck between two dead people. Although there were two dead cops at the scene too, which would have garnered some attention sooner or later, would she survive until then tho?

I watched the original trailer for this when it first came out, the trailer shows about the firsts 30 minutes of the movie, so I always thought this was a very serious and suspenseful horror movie. Years later I saw this in some streaming service while I was with s group of friends and I remembered how good the trailer looked and asked my friends if they wanted to watch it. You can NOT imagine my surprise when the movie became insane and the man got turned into a Walrus. Every single person in my group was losing my mind. That's a memory I cherish very dearly it was just so fun.

I've never been so completely disgusted and mentally disturbed by a movie in my entire life and I haven't even watched it before. I only know the general plot and have seen that horrible ending, yet this movie has stuck with me all these years. It has taken me 3 days to scour up the courage to finally watch this reaction so wish me luck.
Edit: I chickened out and couldn't watch the video. I only listened to it and took 1 or 2 glimpses. This was enough to make me sick to my stomach and I genuinely feel so nauseous right now.

Usually I’m great with horror movies and I brag to my friends about how I don’t get scared and they do……. But this…… honestly was so sickening to see. Big props to the director cause this is gonna mentally screw me up for like a week😭

Yeah, Kevin Smith came up with the idea on his podcast. He and Scott Mosier were looking through Creg's List adds and they came across one that was like "I'll pay you to dress as a walrus and live in my basement. You must always remain fully in character when I'm around, including eating fish I feed you and swim with me in the pool." Kevin Smith was so fascinated by the idea that he and Scott came up with this movie right then and there on the podcast.
