I once flew on an ATR 42 with American Eagle in 1992, from Raliegh Durham to Charlotte NC. The thing I noticed was that it was somewhat less noiser than most turboprop airliners. It appeared to have thicker cabin insulation that somewhat muffled the low pitched drone that's produced by the props. My girlfriend gave it the nickname, "The Whisperprop",
I don't like the parts where there's music and no prop sound. Especially during the taxiing. I like hearing the sound of the pitch on the props. That's the thing in this video that could have been done differently.

Love flying in turboprops, than on those turbofan airbuses, recently flew in an ATR-turboprop, from Hyderabad to Raipur, but most memorable experience was in Japan, flying from Fukuoka international to the Kagoshima airport, it was great to fly low over snow covered dormant void with their tops filled with the rain water, lovely flight, brings back lots of memories.

ATR generally do not use the conventional aerobridges/jetways because of their height and door mechanism. Sometimes they do use them.
Essentially the aerobridges are meant for a320/b737 type aircraft or wide body aircraft like the a330/b777/b787.

Twenty (20) is bit too long, try to make future volgs between 10-15 min. It will be more inresting to watch.

I've flown on the ATR before with American Eagle and USAirways Express and it's a great airplane. So is your video. May I make one suggestion? Cut down on the music a bit. We'd like to hear some more airplane noise.

Nice video. Cut down on the music a bit. Also include more detail about the seat pitch, luggage racks and space restrictions.. And sad smaller airports have no taxiways. Even calicut also has the same issue. Waste of fuel and runway efficiency if aircrafts keep occupying runways without reason..... Good video...

Good video. Thanks to ATR, we've cheap commercial planes in India.
Today in India, road accidents kill around 1,50,000 people per year on average which is more than 400 per day. Whereas fatalities because of Aircrash is so low, even if you put together all worldwide fatalities all put together accounts to 695 in 2018, (1 day in India vs 1 year worldwide), Since 2011 there has been no Commercial Airline fatalities in India till today. So, Aviation is the safest transportation available today. So, the irony of India is, you are more likely to be killed on your way to the Airport than in the Air... And if its a road accident, even if your VVIP, only news will fly about maybe what hit them, or how it happened, but safety of road transport remains same even after accident, whereas in Aviation, one accident will lead to more safety measures across the world and into the future as news circulates into the manufacturer and engineers themselves, and work together to produce safer transportation worldwide. So, if you feel unsafe on any commercial aeroplane, it's just your mental illusion.

Hopefully we will know soon the cause of crash as black boxes soon to be examined. My guess is icing .Ref American Eagle Flt 4184 and USA NTSB report Re fatal crash in Chicago.
The icing in this aircraft happens so quickly that it’s doubtful if any pilot can handle it. Wing modification needed. Estimate a couple of hundred lives lost

It’s frightening the way this aircraft is being promoted. It has killed a lot of people in icing accidents. Don’t fly on it
What time does it depart from Bangalore?
Is the engine noise annoying or is it comfortable with that noise?
@Federal Bureau Of Investigation The turboprop sound is prominent, but I was able to acclimatise with the sound pretty fast :) It should not be much of a trouble :))

I am a turbo prop fan...I flew on many props in the sixties and 70 and the DC 3, 4, were very noisy Then they made design improvements and planes like the Martin 404 twin prop became popular...then the B727 and B707 became the standard until the early part of the 1990's when dash 8 (224 kts) replaced the Twin otter (179 Kts) I have both the ATR 72 and Dash 8 on my flight sim but they don't come with the flight sim you have to purchase them. If you really like flying put fly a glider on your bucket list.....it will amaze you...I have 80 hours in them (wish I( had more) and love them
In ice you need a super pilot. Many fatalities from icing fatals

ATR is also good I have traveled in art 2 time once in SpiceJet which is bad and 2nd is trijet which is really NYC..
I only flown on A320, A321 neo and Boeing 737-800 and 900

My experience was horrible. So much so that I'm never going to fly in an ATR again. The seats were rock hard, my feet were almost touching the front seat. But the cabin was not noisy as i expected it to be. The flight was smooth but the seat was absolutely horrible.

After watching the video I felt like I walk with my head held low. It’s mostly floor.... I can understand there’s hesitation filming, for someone may protest, but try to level the camera off at eye angle.

i would have kept a lower frame rate to make the rotor look spinning :)

I have horrible experience with same plane on same runway 1 year ago (on 1st of July)our plane attempts to land but pilot was unable to land and go around for first time. after completing go around he again approach for landing that time plane landed on runway but due to excessive speed pilot was unable to control plane so he aborted landing again and give full throttle to lift up and second go around.all passengers are tired that time. Finally on third attempt we successfully land on tirupati airport.That was my first and horrible experience of ATR-72

While taking off engine blades aren't moving??
Why?
@Amit Kaushal Hi, the propeller blades are moving at a very high speed (rpm, revolutions per minute), the camera cannot capture the blades turning at a very fast rotation speed. Hence, the camera captures it as such :)
When camera Frame rate matches the RPM. Voila magic happens
because someone behind the plane is pushing it !

It either is coming from the Ground Power Unit (GPU) or surrounding aircraft.
My dream
In propeller Engines... ATR is Good enough... Better than The Bombardier 🐢....
Prop engines are noisy no matter which Flight

Because the camera's refresh rate aligns with the planes blades rotation causing that visual effect

@Deepak Singh There is nothing wrong with the aircraft! It's due to rolling shutter a phenomena that occurs when something is rotating at high speeds, the camera is not able to capture it at such high frames per second :)

@Suraj Prasad Indigo's ATR has a total of 74 seats in an all economy class configuration :)

@tejash jl Thew row I was seated in had a decent view, but if you do not want any obstruction (caused by the wing or fan blades of the propellor) then you should book a seat in the last few rows :)

Which seat is better in ATR?
@Vikas Cool The seat I was in had a good view of the engine as well as outside , if you prefer a better engine view you can choose any window seat on the either side in the first 5 rows of the aircraft :) If you prefer a quieter environment you can choose any seat in the lat 5 rows :)

How is the turbulence compared to jet liners?
@@thomasmathew5361 An airliner powered by prop-JET engines is a jet-liner aircraft. It's a jet-engine with a propeller attached to the front of the engine.... thus, the name prop-JET. I've had very bad turbulence on some fan-jet airliners & very little to no turbulence on a prop-jet airliner. It depends on the weather & the air-currents while flying more than the aircraft.

The worst thing in indigo flight is u can't stretch ur legs very uncomfortable seats.
@mosa mosa Indigo is a Low Cost Carrier (Or also know as a budget airline), legroom is expected to be lesser compared to other full service carriers (E.g. Air India, Vistara...) :) Adding on, please keep in mind this is the smallest aircraft in their fleet (ATR 72-600). However, considering the size of the aircraft and the nature of the airline the legroom was still quite decent :)
Yeah I agree but quite uncomfortable that's why I prefer to travel in vistara and air India.

They use their own butterfly seats to keep the aircraft light and accommodate the maximum number of passengers that is why the tickets are cheap when they are bought beforehand

Check mayday crashes of such planes you will come to know the risk and the pilot should have excellent skills to handle plane during any fault with propellers
I don't think indigo has well experienced pilots in terms of flying hours

@Vikas Kumar For your information, the propellers are not going slow and if you referring to the part where the aircraft was pushing back the propellers were not started up yet at that moment :)
