I built a modified version of the the Low TIM amp with Prof Leach in 1985 as my senior project at Ga Tech. It is still working, as are the preamp and a pair of three way ported speakers, all his designs. He was fantastic teacher and fun to work with. Happy to see your amps are working as well !
Nice looking Builds! I was a student of Dr. Leach in 1980-82. I built a Low TIM and a double barreled amp while I was one of his students. I am cleaning and repairing the Low TIM amp and look forward to hearing more of your experiences.
Did you build his pre-amp? I did but I only have the phono part with me. No idea what happened to the line amp. As a matter of fact, I am in the process of building the line amp again to see how it performs together with the power amp.
@@thomasdiyaudio5353 In addition to the amps, I built a speaker system that was his "lab" system at the time. It is bi-amped with an active crossover he designed. Awesome sounding speaker system with his double barreled amp on the woofers and the Low TIM on the high frequency head box. We we are listening to it still. In his Audio Design class we had to calculate the RC values to accurately reproduce the RIAA equalization curve for a phono preamp. He said it was important to get the EQ curve right in a phono preamp. Did he publish a design for a preamp? I would REALLY like to build it.

Did you build his son's Leach Amp 4.5? I am in the process and hopefully get it done in a few months.
