    Wow what a long line of fabulous cars. The craftsmanship to detail and reworking each and every one of them. If it matters I appreciate the lowriders and everything that goes into the cars. I'm a little bit different than some of those who appreciate it because I was born and raised in the middle of the country and four-wheel drive. I like them too. But back in the day when I bought my first 63 Chevy ragtop they laughed at me. That's okay who's laughing now! I've been collecting these cars from the 50s and 60s I'm not saying perfect and some of them were pretty close. Been collecting them for many years before and the people had acquired the taste. I read up on the zoot suit riots and I'll read up a little bit more. Thanks for showing the cars

    Me and my husband & nephew were there for the 2 day events.
    We've had the honor of attending this event for the 3rd time.
    It is a honor to attend. This is in memory of those who were killed during the riots and those who lived and now have gone before us.
    If you notice some of the first cars have a sticker that says, "funeral " the sticker indicates that it is a funeral procession in memorial to those Zoot suiters who were killed and who have lived and now gone.
    It is such a beautiful heart felt event.
    Chato and his wife Shy girl are the organizers of the event and again, it was a honor to meet them. Very humble couple. Beautiful.
    And I want to say Thank You for this beautiful event.
    Thank you to all those who work very hard and tired hours you put into this event and those who participated in it. To those who dress for this events.
    Thank you and God Bless you all❤❤❤❤

    Impressive array of period cars. I'm 86 and have been a car nut since around 1948 and recall the rage to add an external custom sun visor. None of the ones in this vid seem from that vintage and the ones seen would be made recently. They are too big fore and aft compared to originals.

    • @jimmieroan9881
      @jimmieroan9881 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well im 81 and actually lived in that part of california in late 50s and again 65-68. lots of clubs with those cars, and we had plenty here in texas. most of the sunvisors i see on the cars look like they belong there, you could get after market for almost any car from the 20s thru the 50s, some look custom and could be what you say but if you were around these cars they also had fender skirts that would fit like from factory or big bubble skirts exaggerated. i was looking for the numbered streets in these parades, i worked at the highest point on first street, for a while it was just known as the first street hill, i worked in the westinghouse building at the top of the hill in downtown LA

      I'd love to know the history of why the lowrider crowd so overwhelmingly went for Chevys. The Ford flathead V8s had well-known cooling issues which made them suboptimal for "low and slow" cruising, so it may just be that technical matter.

I wonder how many had to be resurrected from the boneyard ? " Slow and Low " ! 😊 All in all , a freaking cool parade . 🎉🎉🎉 OK , I admit it , I love 50's Mercurys , when they are custom , my opion is they are hard to beat . Lead Sleds , gotta luv'em !!! I'll wager there are some BAD ASS ENGINES in more than a few rides . 😮😊😊

    Very cool rides. Can’t stand Cali politics but the car culture and volume is off the hook. Thanks for sharing

    Classic rides that are badass and make me proud to be Hispanic. No rap/hip hop music and no bouncing cars with hydraulics making the cars going up and down. It was great to see the Los Angeles Police Department clearing the streets for the cars❤

      Thats too bad! We were waiting on the 6th Street Bridge for over two hours because the flyer wasnt specific about when they would be cruising through. We thought they would drive by around 10AM since the flyer said the roll in time was 7‐9:30AM. We didn't know they were gonna be parked on Whittier Blvd until past noon!
