Excellent. Many thanks.
Your most welcome, could you like 👍 the video for me please
Thanks for fine gallery of photos. My mother was 7 when the 1909 pics were taken. I went to Roper Street (CoE School) 1946-51. The one pic I recognise is the horse bus (at the Broadway). The famous Thomas Tilling. TfL garages still witness him in their codes, eg TL for Catford, TB for Bromley. Avery Hill was hit by a bomb in WW2.
You’re welcome hope you enjoyed
Lovely. My mum would have recognised all that. She was born in Avery Hill in 1907.
Hope you enjoyed
I went to the C of E school on Roper St and I remember seeing the old workhouse before it was pulled down.
I am now 67.
Thanks for Watching
Seeing these photos makes you realise what a mess we have made of Eltham!
Thanks for Watching, hope you enjoyed, can you leave a thumbs up 👍 please
A valid point, Eltham has certainly lost a lot of its charm. However, balancing the negative side of progress, Eltham has also lost rickets, dysentery, polio, tuberculosis and other poverty driven ailments. Yes, as sad as losing so much is, I retain a glass half full outlook.
More of the same please 👌🏻
