Riding different types of Express lifts

  • Hello, and in this video I take a look at 4 different types of Express lift.
    The first in this video is a VAC controlled Express lifts installed in 1983, which uses Express C machines.
    The second is a 2 speed Express lift, which also uses the Express C machine.
    The third is a single speed Express, which used the Express B machine.
    The final lift is also a single speed that uses an Express A machine.

    Amazing compilation. How come you just touch the relays without using an insulator stick or something? Sure, maybe the logic is a low voltage, or the relays are insulated, but that's a bit of an unnecessary risk.

      Express relays were designed in order to be pushed from the front, and this was so engineers could send the lift to floors for testing. The front plate of the relay is fully insulated from the electrical circuit so it's safe to touch.
