One thing that changes when everyone can make their own video game is that it becomes less and less likely for there to be extremely popular games. not impossible, mind you but take the music industry. I think VRAM usage is a definite consideration. Most environment artists will reuse materials across multiple assets, e.g. create multiple statues but baked with the same textures and shared normal map etc. but I assume with this AI model generation 1 model = 1 material, unless you want to then export it, UV it, etc. But as standard use, your texture usage is going to grow pretty quickly if over-using this feature.

visuals is not the issue and will be barebone at best, where destructible environments, good reactive fighting animations to physics are way more important. The immersion aspect is lacking big time in UE. Are there any good physics fighting animation models made which reacts and feels good? Like taking hits to hitting things in their surroundings that reacts realistically? Hitting stones to wood where it reacts accordingly, and stopping animations if you're to close to walls and obstacles? If these things doesn't get implemented sooner or later, it is just a glorified flat photo imho. The issue with the massive procedural generation is really down to the gameplay elements of what you can do with said generated content. And often its not much more then going there and looking at it... Even starfield only procedural generated the landscape ONLY (inhouse), nothing else! Net result, every planet became the same gameplay wise....
This is really good for games that don't need specific things or arent heavily narrative based. Creating purposeful environments for single-player open world rpgs with AI tools will come in the future but currently AI just isn't there yet.
Actually am not glad AI interfering into game development, But at the end the competition is so big that we must use it, because if don't use it, somebody else will!
Woohoo! We get even more bigger beautiful worlds - with no actual professional level design in them. Woo... whoops. As humans are driven to "ooh pretty" - rather than "awesome playable level that is actually designed with a thought catering to player physics and mechanics". Imagine generating HUGE map with nice detail, and then spend the time to go through it, tweak everything so its actually playable and works with playtesters etc... The time saved vs time spent... Not sure. Btw, is this your project or sponsored content, not sure.

there are 8 billion people on earth. There is only saturation of every market, AI really doesn't make this more of a problem, competing with those billions of people is everyone's real world problem.
Be optimistic! Stay pro-active. People said that computers would be the end of jobs too, but we're all still here kicking. We just need to stay vigilant and keep exploring, and I assure you we will all find our place in this next phase of our society.
a lot of those ai assets were actually perfectly fine for games. even aaa games. plenty of those have whacky artifacts in their models. you have to remember 99% of the players dont' look very carefully at the 12 chairs in the room. because, in a properly made game, they're hooked on the story, or the action, or looking at the puzzle, not the background. and then there are 1% that might be devs or artists and might NOTICE a quirk, but then it's not like a> AAA titles made by humans don't have those and B> that it would be immersion breaking. really, if someone is examining the wall texture or random desk in an office building for issues... you've failed at making your game interesting already. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ tools, ,whether they are player pianos that destroyed the music industry, or typewriters that destroyed books, or graphics tablets that destroyed art... these tools that allow better story telling or entertainment will only allow good creators and story tellers to do more, better, faster. 'bad' results would be blaming the tools, not the artists trying to use them. in fact, there are a lot of tiresome boring "but flashy" movies and games out there right now, because there's an audience for them. at some point it'll swing back into better stories, puzzles, and thoughtful action games. or... we've ended up in idiocracy, which there is a chance of, I'm just hopeful that it won't be the case.
Very cool, what would be even cooler is if players can generate unique items in game, it cant be far off with tools like this. Maybe we could have a real online economy that actually pays instead of us paying the developer, we'd be paid for developing things.
An often overlooked component of artistic ability and quality control is the artists eye to be able to identify what looks good, and what does not, and what need improvement, where and how. While someone with no artistic abilities can certainly use AI to help them, they'll quickly find that their results are much less cohesive and much less visually coherent and accessible than that which has been made by someone who knows what they're doing. It's the difference between giving a high end camera to a random person, and the same camera to a professional photographer. That being said: AI does expand the pool by lowering the barriers to entry. In particular it allows those who have a natural affinity for the arts, but lack any formal training due to life choices, to make effective use of it.
You can already do this. There are thousands upon thousands of free resources out there, and then when you consider the costs behind this 'AI' stuff, there are even more cheap high-quality resources available. I think what you really mean is this enables someone without any passion in whatever area they use it for to slap some filler over that void.
Hey just curious, are these free tools? If so? Why does it ask for my credit card information when I go to download Cyberver and Ludus from your links?
I’ve got some concerns with AI tools like these, especially when it comes to transparency around training data. You mentioned that the training data sorcing transparency is getting worked on, but I haven’t seen much information about it. Maybe I’m just not deep enough in the AI space to catch those updates, though. If there’s anything solid out there, it’d be great to see a video covering those AI transparency standard and ethics around them ang have a bigger discussion. As for Cybever and Ludus AI, I don’t see myself using either for now. Cybever doesn’t really fit my workflow or needs. Ludus AI is a no-go for me because I don’t use UE5. Cybever does mention in their FAQ that their training data was ethically sourced, which sounds good on paper, but I think they could be a lot more transparent about it. For example, they could include "training data credits" with links to the individuals whose work was used in the dataset (where possible). That kind of clarity would go a long way. Without clear sourcing, there’s no way to know if the data was obtained with proper consent or if it was just scraped in bulk, leaving people no way to opt out. There’s also the concern that "ethically sourced" might just mean they got it through a contract with a popular service that didn’t actually ask users for consent-or worse, made consent opt-out by default. Even if technically above board, that doesn’t feel genuinely ethical to me. That makes me hesitant to pay for services like these without at least some of my points about how the training data was sourced being addressed. If I can’t verify that the data was obtained ethically and consensually, it’s hard to justify supporting it, no matter how much value it might provide. If these AI services addressed these concerns, I think they could earn a lot of goodwill from people. Setting a strong standard for transparency would not only improve trust but also make these tools far more commercially viable in the long run.
is it me or the plugin is broken because when I ask it the same question in your video to make a tree this is the answer I'm getting Unfortunately, I cannot directly create a 3D model of a tree or place it in your Unreal Engine level. However, I can guide you through the process of creating or importing a tree model and adding it to your level. Here's how you can do it:
creativity, self learning, understanding technology, thinking through your problems... all dying concepts I guess. Also how do you determine creative ownership of the assets created or even the projects you make when you are relying on trained AI to do all the work for you.
really hating the repeated video in the background. Why do you choose to show us things on repeat for no reason? Id rather just not have pointless repeats, it is distracting to what you are trying to say
I think it's great that you're so optimistic about this stuff. Respectfully i am not, and i originally subscribed for updates on harsh doorstop. Did you have a different channel to get videos on the game or am i mistaken?
This channel is generally not only about OHD, but Unreal Engine development in general. I'd say the next best place to get OHD updates is from the OHD Steam page, where we post regular news and other event information.
Tools are just tools people. The worlds greatest typist becomes useless if all the keyboards disappeared and if they never learned how to use pencil and paper.
the level design means nothing, u can do good 80% of level design in a weekend (thats even what I prefer, to block levels with real assets to get further inspiration)... but its worth nothing with all the coding/bp needed to turn it into actual game. Even the stpid menu with all settings, separated audio, saving and basic inventory is way way more work than playing with level... and what about gameplay, footsteps, animations, talking NPCs haha, so much work to cover just a core. This is just bait for starting devs without skills and w/o gamedev challenges knowledge.
I hope this wouldn't make developer getting more lazy... We had enough with trash game made by lazy developer and their game ended up as a meme.... Yeah, you, western AAAAAAAAAA Developers...
I spent 9 months creating a UE project that would do what your talking about... not quite as fancy, but did from terrain through roads, buildings that you supply, etc... and then UE 5 came out and I scrapped it. SMH
It feels like you are contradicting yourself when you say ai will be good for *us* in the end. And you yourself create educational games for a market that won't need education... Where does that leave you in 10 years?
Really? Crazy I feel like this video was more of a big deal than that, but alright. Definitely a lot of people are interested in the facial animation metahuman stuff so maybe I'll revisit that.
@@Bluedrake42 It is truly incredible how Metahuman Animator makes it possible to have near-pro quality facial capture with a phone app. So many stories that otherwise couldn't be told due to publisher disinterest are now potentially viable. can someone please help? I am trying to set up Ludus AI with unreal and it keeps telling me that I need to link my unreal and github account and I have it it liked for years. @@FrankyGuyManbro, im using a 4070 S and still stutter in Stalker 2 😂
Not unreal problem it's devs problem @@FrankyGuyMan
You get 17,000 credits per month with Ludus. It takes about 10,000 credits to write/look at a BP. Its not good at all.
There is an excellent chance at some point it will work with your own AI. I know the model that it is using, so I know that it will be possible.
"this will change the industry"
"how will this help with game design"
"game design???"
This is really good for games that don't need specific things or arent heavily narrative based. Creating purposeful environments for single-player open world rpgs with AI tools will come in the future but currently AI just isn't there yet.
Even for those things, it can still be used for getting the foundations down quickly
Your comment aged like milk. You should search game named Carly. It's a NFT game made by AI
@@nyomanbandarayani6830 Now, be honest with me, are you an ad bot?
It's strange that there is not mush info about Ludus AI on YT, beacause the idea sounds amazing.
Unlike Cybever you can download and install it right now though, so definitely go take advantage of that.
@@Bluedrake42 Yeah, I guess I'll just give it a try.
Quantum computers is a fascinating topic to talk on... Can u try making a video on it lol
Actually am not glad AI interfering into game development, But at the end the competition is so big that we must use it, because if don't use it, somebody else will!
does the first one have ability to work for unity?
Can it work with UE 5.5.2 and can it help with creating functional Blueprints by showing you which nodes need to be connected with each other?
When i ask it to make a Model its saying it cant do it do i have the wrong Version ?
Just a dream until AI improves in 1-2 years.
text to 3d build in is actually crazy
i love ai ... i love this future
Cant believe you actually mentioned the atrocity that is Starfield 😂😂😂
BD for President!
Please cover AI tools for unity as well.
Great. Gamers now can experience stutter with AI generated content. Neat.
This video is not sponsored, no.
@@Bluedrake42 Ok. Was just wondering as the links in description go through your domain, but the download links there are to the actual companies download sites.
lets gooooooo
there are 8 billion people on earth. There is only saturation of every market, AI really doesn't make this more of a problem, competing with those billions of people is everyone's real world problem.
Ludus seems to only work up to ue 5.3 …they need to update it to 5.5 already
Ok, I wont have a job anymore 😂
Be optimistic! Stay pro-active. People said that computers would be the end of jobs too, but we're all still here kicking. We just need to stay vigilant and keep exploring, and I assure you we will all find our place in this next phase of our society.
It will just allow you to make your vision bigger. AI is a force multiplier.
@TechnoMinarchist Im very intrested in using Ai to help me with blueprints and game logic
@@unrealhabitat Ludus will do that, many more plugins and AI software coming down the pipeline as well. 2025 is going to be insane.
so many bad games being made, I believe it is great to democratize game development. the future is bright for educational and entertainment games.
a lot of those ai assets were actually perfectly fine for games. even aaa games. plenty of those have whacky artifacts in their models. you have to remember 99% of the players dont' look very carefully at the 12 chairs in the room. because, in a properly made game, they're hooked on the story, or the action, or looking at the puzzle, not the background.
and then there are 1% that might be devs or artists and might NOTICE a quirk, but then it's not like a> AAA titles made by humans don't have those and B> that it would be immersion breaking. really, if someone is examining the wall texture or random desk in an office building for issues... you've failed at making your game interesting already. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
tools, ,whether they are player pianos that destroyed the music industry, or typewriters that destroyed books, or graphics tablets that destroyed art...
these tools that allow better story telling or entertainment will only allow good creators and story tellers to do more, better, faster.
Maybe we could have a real online economy that actually pays instead of us paying the developer, we'd be paid for developing things.
this is cool because it allows someone without any artistic ability to create video games.
Individuals with artistic ability and a willingness to continuously learn will always have an advantage over those with none.
What is Ludus trained on?
I would switch over from Unity but I am so deep into it now I just dont know
Hey there designers hold onto your socks!
Hey just curious, are these free tools? If so? Why does it ask for my credit card information when I go to download Cyberver and Ludus from your links?
There are paid options but the base plugin is free, although Cybever is still invite-only
It is already implemented in Age of Empires 4
Oh really? Can you give me a source on that?
All fantastic points, and I agree
Lol
cool
is it me or the plugin is broken because when I ask it the same question in your video to make a tree this is the answer I'm getting
Unfortunately, I cannot directly create a 3D model of a tree or place it in your Unreal Engine level.
In a few years game developers will be obsolete, people will just give an AI prompt and you'll have your custom generated game.
Maybe. We’ll see. Don’t think it’ll shake out exactly like that.
Definitely not.
really hating the repeated video in the background. Why do you choose to show us things on repeat for no reason? Id rather just not have pointless repeats, it is distracting to what you are trying to say
Cybever hasn’t released much footage, so I apologize for that. If there was more footage, I would show more.
Can you cover unreal or unity tools for creating comics? I hate drawing environments :)
The problem isn't that this is a bad thing the problem is optimization and we are in for a lot of unoptimized crap for at least 5-10years
I think it's great that you're so optimistic about this stuff.
@Bluedrake42 okay this definitely helps.
And Merry Christmas to you and yours
We are jobless soon.😢
Wheres the physics stuff
Tools are just tools people. The worlds greatest typist becomes useless if all the keyboards disappeared and if they never learned how to use pencil and paper.
holy shit
You probably know sh!t with that headlines lol
Okay
the level design means nothing, u can do good 80% of level design in a weekend (thats even what I prefer, to block levels with real assets to get further inspiration)... but its worth nothing with all the coding/bp needed to turn it into actual game.
Wish there was a unity alternative though lol 😅😂😂😂
This ain't it, either
I hope this wouldn't make developer getting more lazy... We had enough with trash game made by lazy developer and their game ended up as a meme.... Yeah, you, western AAAAAAAAAA Developers...
I spent 9 months creating a UE project that would do what your talking about... not quite as fancy, but did from terrain through roads, buildings that you supply, etc... and then UE 5 came out and I scrapped it. SMH
Mind sharing it? Even if it isn't finished? I think we'd all love to see what you've done.
It feels like you are contradicting yourself when you say ai will be good for *us* in the end. And you yourself create educational games for a market that won't need education... Where does that leave you in 10 years?
At least AI can Never make Animations Xd
Did you not watch my last video?
Sounds great in concepts, but results are terrible
will people become unemployed because of such tools?
People became unemployed because of cars and computers so… I guess so, yeah. Does it mean everything is over and we should just give up? No.
No, it won't.
okay,,,,,
Nah, this shit helps nothing. The one that will shatter the industry is video to Metahuman facial animation AI
Now if you could do full body mocap with that plugin too...
what the hell
oh good, now we get to see more crappy AI generated trash projects...
Great times for lazy people.

can someone please help? I am trying to set up Ludus AI with unreal and it keeps telling me that I need to link my unreal and github account and I have it it liked for years.
