Nice to see the Buccaneer. Did you know that when the kit first came out (I think it still carried the original designation of NA-39) many aspects of the aircraft were top secret? Airfix made the kit with a rotating bomb door: it pivoted round to end up inside the fusalage, exposing the bomb to be dropped. Apparently the Navy got straight onto Airfix and demanded to know who leaked that secret, to which the kit-maker replied that having seen official photos of the aircraft's underside, they deduced that it was the only way that a single bomb door could operate.
I remember my 1st Airfix purchase, the Africa Corps and the 8th Army Soldier Packs. 45 years ago... A lot of tanks and planes followed. Today I fly this iconic WWII machines in VR Flight Sims. Damned, still a kid 😁
Just brought the re released hms devonshire. Remember buying the kit in the 70s with my pocket money in Woolworths, after seeing a county class destroyer firing a missile on the TV series UFO . Now armed with my 3 d printed upgrade parts and brass etch set from Atlantic models, I will make a waterline version .👍😃
Well done Airfix for this wonderful selection of new releases on offer. I am getting back into kit building after 50 years and have the 1:72 Wildcat and 1:48 Sea Fury to start off with. There are some very tempting kits shown here for later. What pleases me the most is that there is still a demand for plastic kits meaning the passtime is alive and kicking for the time being.
Really good to see the 1/76 military miniatures coming back, there used to be a huge range in the 70’s. I would also love to see all of the 1/32 scale military miniatures reintroduced.
Amen. Would like to see some new ones too, as we *were* getting new 76th Tanks until only a couple of years ago. 32nd cars would also be nice to see more of.
Uhm, one suggestion: I love to see all those 54mm scale figures... waterloo stuff etc. I love Napoleonic models, I just finished repairing and restoring my vintage collection ( various bits broken off, reglueing, and even remake bits by hand) and just finished the Polish Lancer... But if you Make More of them, like a "Brithish Dragoon" a " French Carabinier, a Russian line infantry man, Russian Cavalry etc etc, man, I'll LOVE to buy them. I'm a Napoleonic reenactor, and I'm sure you wil hit the jackpot if you start making more Napoleonic stuff in 54mm.
Wonderful! This tube reminds me of leafing through the fantastic Airfix catalogue in the 1970s. I even built a few models back then, although never anywhere near the standard of the modellers who show their wares now on youtube. Maybe I'll have a try at one of the starter kits, for old time's sake, as well as for fun.
It's been decades since I put together models like these. I might join you in picking up a few sets. I love those V-bombers. I might need to get a complete set of those. The Brits sure make beautiful aircraft.

It be nice to see an Avro Arrow model kit and Edmund Fitzgerald model kit. It's been years since an Avro Arrow model kit has been released and the Edmund Fitzgerald (Great Lakes ship) has never had a model kit done.
Definitely would love to see that. The TSR-2 kits were a great hit (Airfix had to be lobbied hard to do the 1st one, but it paid off), and a high detail Arrow (MK.1 or 2) doesn't exist yet. Plus the only two existing Arrow kits in 72nd & 48th are ancient and rare.
Was the last scheme of the Anson a RCAF machine. I wish you guys would make 1/32 aircraft kits. I would love a 1/32 Typhoon to go with my 1/32 Spitfires.
I've noticed the name "Cross" on a lot of the older box art illustrations. Is there any possibility you could make a video on some of the classic Airfix illustrators?
I came here to comment this. I actually searched for this video for more information on it as I am planning to build one. Disappointing that it's the only one not explained lol
I've been trying to find a Mk 4 Seaking from the first Gulf War, no luck yet, I worked on them out in the desert with 845 Naval Air Commando Squadron. Don't suppose there are any plans for that? It is something of a forgotten war to be honest.
Xtradecal has a sheet of HC-4 Sea Kings with Gulf War markings in the sand pink scheme. Without looking, not sure if new or later main rotor blades were fitted then. Also the nose, if it was "plain" or had sensors scabbed on. Airfix kit is for late version. I'm wanting a Falklands version, which would require too much altering. Will use a Revell Mk 41, a 30+ year old Airwaves HC-4 conversion set and main rotors from a Fujimi kit...plus Airwaves door mounted GPMG and PJ Productions crew figures. Nothing easy.
@@Georgeconna32 Happy to pay it. It's going to be light years ahead of the old Buccaneer and 100% better than the TanModel Bucc which was promised & never appeared.
I built the Blenheim years ago, brilliant and I’ll build it again. Airfix will always be close to my heart, thanks for many years of happy model making.
I built a 1/24 scale Spitfire when it was last in production in the '80s. A great model with serious detail and even more detailed by the look of it in the new version. I seem to recall that when it was last in production there was also a 1/24 scale Bf109.

Some fantastic re-releases there. Definitely picking up the Victor and Spitfire F.22 as they go for silly money these days. Only one new 1/72 tool which is a shame but I shan't complain as it's a Meteor.
The new 1/24 Spitfire IX looks sensational. I just bought the Vintage series Mk 1a to relive my childhood model (which was mould in white plastic, but now a light grey). Good to see the Buccaneer too.
Very impressive but when will Airfix or anyone else produce a decent kit of the Supermarine Scimitar? Not produced in big numbers but an important aircraft of its time and definitely missing from all FAA fans collections.
I always wanted an Anson in 1/48 and the Buccaneer is well overdue. fantastic - look forward to the 3 new armour kits also (how about a 1/24 scale Lizzie?)

Absolutely thrilled with the Buc release. I'm sure the 1/24 Spitfire is going to be amazing as well. The Vulcan released last year is a beauty.
OMG! My all-time favorite helicopter is the Westland Whirlwind HAS. It is a “must have” model and I will buy multiples of this kit. I just hope I’ll be able to find it in the US.
Definitely going to get the Lightning and Bucaneer this year, looking forward to those!
The Anson and the Buccaneer are welcome - but a 1:350 Ark Royal R09 would have been a killer
Cannot wait to get those new vintage classic kits
Some fantastic re-releases there. Definitely picking up the Victor and Spitfire F.22 as they go for silly money these days. Only one new 1/72 tool which is a shame but I shan't complain as it's a Meteor.
Really pleased to see the Russian 1:76 infantry, now if only there was a decent quality Western front 1:72 allied infantry set
Would love to see that 1/48 Spitfire XII scaled down to 1/72.
