For those who is confused how it works. Its an OLED display, flexible one at that If you see closely on the down side, you will see a "yellow" connector (forgot what its called). Its connecting to the motherboard. Its the one thats able to make that OLED display is.. well.. displaying If you ever see how an lcd phone is repaired, you should have seen many techs didnt combine the lcd before testing it
This is not a charging cable, but primarily an information bus for the display matrix. Without this, even with a battery, they will not work. Simply put, for it to work like this, you need to glue these displays onto a smartphone - where the battery and all the necessary hardware will be. And yes - it already exists - it’s called a smartphone. :) And these are just 2 displays from a smartphone glued together with their back sides. To operate they require a microprocessor, various chips, a data bus, a battery... This is just an interesting video, nothing more. The chips and battery will NOT bend even if you put them between the displays like cheese in a sandwich. It will just be a smartphone with two displays. You can do this without flexible displays. In short - this is a hype video for TH-cam - nothing else.
Imagine making something akin to trading cards with these, so cool. How sick would it be to flip open a binder of these and they’re all lit up and animating. Maybe some kind of binder product that is able to charge them while socketed in.
This is cool. I never thought of this sort of thing, but then there's those folding phones so... There's probably practical use to them that I can't think of currently. But for fun, I can see this being used in the future for things like trading cards and card games (as well as tabletops). The price is the only issue, but if the technology became common it would lower in price.
I think i can see where you are trying to go with this, only question is; how to get the rest of the components onto the device.. My personal suggestion would be to find a way to split the battery power between the top and bottom along the bezel maybe? it would retain it's flexibility, though you might sacrifice some of the thinness of the design overall; but you could make use of it by having the contours act as grips along the outer edges. For the inputs.... hmm.. might have to think a while on that one, but you definitely have something going here! You make quite the intrapreneur!
What display is that and how came I upload a video to them? This technology shouldn’t be left classified or top secret. I’m en electrical engineering student, and that display will help me get experience
