100%, and also because they DID NOT COME UP WITH ANY OF THE DESIGNS OR BUILDS. They were probably legally obligated to recreate the Galaxy's Edge Disney World theme park to the exact detail, because this is literally an advertisement for Disney World. I've been to Galaxy's Edge, they DID recreate it exactly, and THAT is why its so detailed and well done

I'm having a lot of fun with the pack and was looking forward to playing with it since the leak. Now I'm recreating tatooine :) For a while I wasn't very inspired to build in the Sims (which is almost the only thing I do) but with the Star Wars pack I got back and found that inspiration again. So yeah, I think the pack is for me :)
I am the “Target Audience” for this pack. I grew up with Star Wars, have seen every movie a million times and have a deep love for it in my heart. I own lightsabers, star wars legos,etc. I was FURIOUS when this pack was announced. This is a blatant over priced cash grab by EA and my god am I fed up. I don’t want star wars in my sims games. If I want to play SW I will go play 👏🏼👏🏼AN ACTUAL STAR WARS GAME👏🏼👏🏼.
I honestly think the target audience are the actual SW fans that don't play the Sims (in an effort to bring in new Sims players). Anyway, I'm a SW fan and I'm still excited for this, lol.

jimjimjimmy I’m not buying the pack regardless, but whats the point of having lightsabers,etc but no force? It just feels like no thought other than “how much money can we make” went into this. I have a feeling this pack was just made to release around the same time as Mandalorian season 2 to get as much money as they can.

Because she doesn't want this scenario of not getting early acces to repeat so she is probably a bit more positive then she should.
EA probably gives packs early only to those who have more positive reviews on their packs on a longer term.

Literally thousands of people haven't thought of that I guess, I wonder if they know they don't have to continue buying the only life sim game there is, that they've been playing and loving for the last 20 years and almost every single one having some type of emotional attachment to the whole franchise, to the point it has become a collection built through out their whole lifes, only to watch it go downhill progressively because developers continue doing surveys and telling us they're listening to us, making us involved in the decision making of what we'll get next, but still ignoring our replies and doing whatever the hell they want. Is such a relieve to know that the game I've been spending thousands with for the past 20 years to get the whole complete experience can now just be left incomplete, filled with bugs and overall trashy because with every *empty* pack and update they release a collection of new bugs that are added to the already existent ones. So crazy that we thought that after surveys and forums and twitter replies and the game changers program and whole packs being made through our vote we actually thought we had some type of space to communicate them what we want and expect from future packs. I guess nobody knows that after spending their whole lifes playing this literally unique game with amazing quality and that used as their foundation the close relationship with the consumers through out it's whole existence, we can just... stop playing... like it's nothing... just because we've been progressively more active in the quality improvement of the franchise only to see ourselfs being given the opposite of what we asked and yet in awful quality (something completely new to the franchise). You totally got the point, thanks.

Lol the only reason why EA made the houses as objects is because they didn't want to incorporate round walls in the sims in general.
Imagine how psyched we all would be if the houses weren't just objects and the Sims did a free update that let us all build with round walls. I think it would have completely flipped the controversy around this pack on its head. I understsnd there are major technical challenges to that, but it would have blown most Sims fans away to get rounded walls.

i really hope cc creators make meshes that are base game compatible. there's a tiny bit of good stuff in this pack that i really want (like the floors, round bar and one of the outfits) and it's not even that i don't want to spend money, it's just that i don't want to enable this amazingly awful pack they think they can make for people

1.Will i be able to use my lightsaber in battle outside of batuu in your sims homeworld??
2.Are lightsaber have their own Skills or is it skills based on fitness skill or does it not matter??
3.Will i able to use my starwars droids outside of batuu ??
If everything is limited to Batuu im not buying i would want to use a droid AnyWhere Any World, and Lightsaber spar AnyWhere Any World

This pack is another example of why I'm sticking with the Sims 3, it lags but I'd rather have lag than an empty wallet and a boring game.
Tbh you dont have to buy all packs for have fun on sims 4 hahaha i have 1 expansion and still have fun.

It kinda hurt my feelings when she said “the sims team cares about the sims more then you do” just because people are voicing they don’t like a pack. I would have loved to make a little family of Jedi to live in the world (like strangerville has a whole different world for its specific storyline & that doesn’t interfere with other worlds). But idk ... I can’t do that. Or build in the world really.... or anything and I thought it could be a cool pack if done right. I also didn’t like it when she said “go buy it! Totally worth it” for the flooring. But personally I think that a cute picnic table, a few stone flooring, and some cute Star Wars stuffed animals isn’t worth the money. Like idk I love lilsimsie but this just wasn’t what I was expecting from her review to reprimand simmers for being disappointed.

exactly!! the sims team don't actually necessary have to care about the game either... like, this is their job. if they were all fellow simmers who represent the community they'd know this type of content isn't worth anything at all and actually show that they care by making good things that people actually want. i think it's time to stop defending the developers for everything when they are consistently disappointing
That statement was so cold to me. I have so much passion for this game. I own 2, 3, and 4. I talk about it often and get lost in the lore. To be told that this team that has basically killed a franchise I know "cares about the sims more than you do" is insulting. I think this will be my last video that I watch from her. It seems that she cannot say negative things about The Sims. Clearly this pack is unfinished and the team doesn't care. Plus the gurus and other people that communicate with the fan base are so passive agreessive. Why?! That's not professional. That's not how you treat your fans! Let's differentiate something real quick... Game developers do gameplay... animators do the looks. When a build isn't really a build, is just a shell with a rabbit hole, that's basically just animation. If you can't interact with the build is because there's not much coding there. They didn't make this choice because it was better, but because it was easier. They relied completely on looks and not on actual gameplay, and from that you can tell a lot of things like: you're paying for an advert without being aware; disney is trying to sell Star Wars theme park and this pack was to sell the concept and the feel of it. This is wild capitalism right there because you're buying a game that barely has any game to play, that the actual developers did basically nothing... This after they did a survey to which this pack was the least voted... The fact this is a GAME pack is literally shameful, it should've been stuff pack. Literally do not sugarcoat this. Seriously, a build you can't go in and just click "Sleep"?? They coded a UI command on top of a animation and that's it? That's the GAME pack you're selling? Me clicking on a box and waiting until my Sim pop out after it disappeared for a while? What a joke

Literally. She's acting like we're all builders who only like family gameplay but she knows full well that lots of "us" love vampires. This pack isn't for "us" because it's a bad pack. It's simply designed to trick Star Wars fans who don't already play the Sims into buying the base game. And she knows they'll be as disappointed when they try to play it as we are.

This pack is an advertisement for Disney's Galaxy Edge theme park. That's it.
At least with Strangerville, you got a world that you can use for other things once the gameplay was done. The same cannot be said for Batuu.

It may seem weird, but I'm actually really upset with all the effort that they put into this pack. Like, with the cantina being just a shell and then dressings around a room to create a really unique and interesting environment. The details they put into landscaping, the 'costumes' to make people look like aliens from the franchise, and the CAS and Build/Buy being so detailed and focusing on the little things, that it genuinely makes me upset.
I know that they probably had the backing from Disney and that since EA OWNS the rights to create Star Wars games they have a lot more material that they can possibly already use. I'm not pretending to know anything about creating games but surely they can use some models and textures and import them into the sims and rework them a little to fit the parameters of the Sims vs the original game.
But it's....if they can put this much Effort into this ONE game pack to create an interesting and unique experience that is, as Kayla put it, just completely fascinating and makes you curious and want to know/do more....why couldn't they do that with everything else? It just seems like there was more care put into this pack than previous packs.

I'm honestly so disappointed at some things simsie said in this video. Yeah, the developpers had fun doing the pack, thats amazing! But sims is a product. We PAY for this product so we can have fun, if the gamepack is not good (neither something the sims target audience is interested in), why does it matter if they had fun? Honestly this seems like the perspective of someone that knows the gurus personaly and is desperatly not trying to hurt their feelings lmao
The sims team care more about the game than us? What?? Me (and lots of many players) have been playing this game when it first came out. It has been a part of our childhood, it thas conforted us whe we were down, and given us amazing memories. The reason the community is in outrage is BECAUSE we care. Its because its hard to watch something we love so much going down the wrong path.
Also, yeah the game looks amazing, the world looks good, but the gameplay is empty. I don't understand why you put so much emphasis on the looks.

It's their art too. I get your blind consumerism but if you don't like it don't buy it. They put a lot into it. I wanted spaceships and sci fi gets neglected in cc. I am looking at ts3 too and it is really good to be honest. I look forward to ranching themed stuff.
I think the problem is that the current Sims players think they are the target audience. The point of this pack is to draw new players in, people, who were never interested in The Sims, can now see this pack and might try it. Packs like Eco Lifestyle and Nifty Knitting are for the dedicated Sims players. I know the pack came out of nowhere for Sims players but just let it be, the Sims team technically could make whatever pack they want, but they still do surveys and try to listen to the fan base. So if you don't like it, ignore it. Let it be a flop. Disney was really looking to advertise Star Wars Land, and The Sims was looking to gain new players, so stop acting like the Sims team committed a vile act with this pack.

Star Wars games are literally made by EA and probably they used recycled animation, which is why Kylo Ren looks off from the sims aesthetic, cause the texture may literally be made to a different game. Literally is not like Disney sent the sims animators the print they had use

EA wanted to do a Star Wars game but maybe to get the rights, Disney demanded a game pack for The Sims to promote the theme park? Because I mean, they took the survey only to ignore the result? The whole purpose of a survey is to know what will be worth to invest in, and a big corporation would just simply choose to do the least favorite just because one employee is fangirling? Even if it was her idea to start of, no chance a big game corporation would allow the project if they had actual statistical evidence the project would be a total failure. Maybe that's why is so empty, they knew it would fail so they probably hired and delegated less people to it and allowed less amount of hours and payment for it. As a big corporation they can afford one pack failing - cause credibility wise The Sims is solid and they can recover easier than we think (I mean, wouldn't you go crazy if they gave an actual full and well developed pack of something we as a community really want?) - and that was in the name of a whole Star Wars game that I can't imagine how much profit is generating right now... so I think Lyndsay just took the heat.

The game packs should be enhancing the gameplay. The only reason she focused on all of the objects is because there wasn't much to praise otherwise. This video was embarrassing, I don't know what kind of response she was expecting from it.

I thought the same thing. You can't tear Strangerville apart and then defend this pack. Strangerville is far from the best pack but once you played the story through you have a decent world to play in regularly and a career that you can actually use. The gameplay of Strangerville is really not good and the existing houses... Well. But you can fix that and actually use the world and the stuff we got with this pack. I'm not saying I wasn't annoyed or even a little mad about Strangerville but compared to what they did now? I'd rather buy Strangerville again.

Honestly I don't know anything about the comments under the strangerville video because I haven't read them. Don't need to since I mostly agreed with her video then. Honestly it's a beautiful shell... but still an empty shell. I think you should have explored just a bit of the "gameplay" (if we can call it like this) to understand how bad the gameplay itself is. I think you judged it too quickly: a bunch of nice buy objects and a beautiful world that you can't even interact with (cause you surely noticed that the waterfall you really liked isn't interacting, like lot of the rest) isn't worth 20$. I don't like giving thumbs down, but I feel like game changers like this, who encourage EAs scammy behaviors and even tell us to buy packs for 2 items, like around the 09:00 min mark, are also part of the big problem with packs in the Sims 4! Wasn't she the one who tore the stranger things pack to shreds just to now praise a pack that is all that but way worse. She even liked that we have no real lots to build on in this pack. What do we do with all those weird new objects then, I might ask? Build in Willow Creek? I also remember her saying that the Sims 3 was plum for having rabbit wholes. Well I guess now the Sims 4 surpassed them with that by a mile. In this pack the Sims even vanish to pee 🤣. I would have never guessed that she would become like that, that's so disappointing!

Yeah I think the point is that some packs don’t appeal to every sims player. Like occult and fantasy packs were not for me and the many other realistic gameplay simmers. This pack however is for such a specific niche group that it should be an exception to that argument.
I mean I understand that not everything should be for "me" but I don't think this is good for even Star Wars players. I mean the way the skimped on aliens in this pack. What happens if two twi'leks try for a baby? Cause I think it is pretty obvious what is going to happen. Being a scoundrel in Star Wars is about dealing with people of a less than reputable quality such as how Jabba the Hutt throws people to the rancor/sarlaac pit or froze Han in carbonite.
Other interactions like how Han had a bounty on his head from short changing Jabba and shooting Greedo first in the cantina. None of this is going to be reflected in the game.

Game developers never really enjoy making a game because is stressful as hell and they work non stop with a very tight schedule, especially if it's from a big corporation game. The fact this is being taken into consideration in her review as a good thing is at least annoying.

At the end, she said the things she did like about it instead of just bashing it while also saying something along the lines of "if you think these few items are worth it, go for it" and that to her the cost wasn't too bad for the amount of entertainment. Yeah, tbh the build/buy and CAS stuff is gonna be perfect for the sci-fi/cyberpunk/post-apocalyptic stuff I want to create. I’m gonna get so much use out of this pack, and it’s a downer that everyone is non-stop complaining (some are even attacking people who like the pack or even hating on game-changers who don’t HATE the pack). I wish simmers would stop acting like they speak for the entire community when they screech about what “we” want. Idgaf about babies or cars. Better skintones are legit important for representation, but that’s not this pack’s fault. There were Star Wars hints in this game for YEARS indicating a collab was likely.

honestly, how well done this specific pack is, and the whole "open world" transition into the buildings, is EXTREMELY depressing and patronizing. so like, its entirely possible for them to not make their content shitty, AND its entirely possible to make the entire game open world using that same exact building transition thing used for the cantina? and they only put in actual effort when they're making a cash grab advertisement for Disney??
The cantina is opened like that because when you arrive to the market (ir what is it called?), yoi arrive to the cantina lot and they just covered it up in debug walls so it looks absolutely amazing, but it wouldn't work in worlds with more than 1 lot 😔

@@pixelcattv8172 it's not a cash grab? they literally made an exact replica of the stars wars land at disneyland/disneyworld and all of the food in the game is the same food they serve at the restaurants in disneyland/disneyworld (for example, the ronto wraps). i hate to break it to you but this whole pack is an advertisement for star wars land. ea and disney just want our money. do you really think they made this pack because they care about us? no. the community has been asking for things like better babies, bunk beds, better skin tones, farming, hotels, etc. for the longest time. they even had us fill out surveys asking what we want from the game. then they turn around and give us something that no one was asking for because it's an advertisement for disney. i hope you realize that this pack is not worth the money at all and you shouldn't keep giving ea money for terrible packs just to "complete your collection." you should watch plumbellas review of this pack it's a lot more honest than lilsimsie
