It looks great in the cinematic trailer, but gameplay is going to feel entirely different. Can't wait to see Darth Vader randomly assigned as a bartender somewhere.
my biggest problem aside from the obvious "we didn't ask for this" is that it's not even going to be fun to play with how the game works. what am i gonna do, click "battle with lightsaber" on a stormtrooper??? how very immersive
I give up on EA, I’m never buying anything from them because time after time they have just proven to us that all they want is money and they don’t care about the game or the quality themselves.
Mac was part of a patch update though, not an actual pack of any kind. That's probably why she didn't mention it. So therefore the only thing people had to pay for was the Sims game itself. But in all honesty I forgot about it so... *_Shrugs_* lol
My last remaining hope is that since it looks like Star Wars was already gonna happen before the survey, maybe, *maybe* they’ll use the top votes ideas for the next pack?? There’s like a 1% chance of that happening though🤡
The fact that they released this despite a literal POLL of the community saying please anything BUT STAR WARS really irks my nerves. I will NOT be buying the star wars pack. The only way it will end up in my game is if they add it for free themselves.
The star wars in that pool was only a way to introduce the idea in our heads. Sims have always put star wars content in the game because Disney owns the star wars and because Disney and the sims are partner's

This LOOKS - aesthetically - pretty. However, the concept is ENTIRELY unappealing to me. I don’t wanna see Don Lothario with a lightsaber, but I can see how some people would - though I think the people who would WANT a Star Wars x Sims 4 are actually less than you’d think, considering Star Wars IS so popular. I would have rather seen a Star Wars game, instead of a collab between Sims & Star Wars
the only thing i MIGHT get the pack for is that short ombre hairstyle in the trailer lmaooo but we probably have cc like it (on the sim at 8:17) and the lightsabers just to see how it works
In all honesty you can just leave it. I don’t understand this constant criticism for ‘realistic gameplay’ because you don’t have too buy the packs. Like another comment said, we’ve had mermaids, ghosts, vampires, witches, aliens in the game forever
My problem with this pack is that it looks to be lacking originally and being customisable. It seems lazy too. At least in stangerville, the storyline had room to be fleshed out. It is just star wars, but in the sims. There is no creativity. It would have worked better as a star wars inspired pack, or even better, a pack inspired by futuristic science fiction. This pack just feels like recycled content.
I agree. I love Star Wars, I grew up with it. However, I don’t think a full on pack taking place in Star Wars works for The Sims. It would’ve been better if they kept that space theme, but only used inspiration for maybe alien species and spaceships from Star Wars. Strangerville had an interesting story and was very unique. With a Star Wars pack there’s less creative freedom sadly. But I do also think this had to do more with EA than the sims team itself.
To be honest, if they, say, expanded the acting career path and added star wars costumes and stuff, maybe then it'd feel like it makes sense. This seems a shameless plug in for galaxy's edge (the new Disney star wars Park thing), because the park also depicts batuu. The worst part of it all is that no one cares about batuu, not even star wars fans would care about this pack.

This is the first Sims 4 pack that is a 100% non-buy for me. In every single other pack (except My First Pet Stuff lol) there's SOMETHING that interests me enough for me to get it, but as someone who hasn't seen Star Wars and probably will never see Star Wars because I don't like that genre, this feels kind of unnecessarily alienating?? I can already tell that there's gonna be a massive chunk of Sims 4 players that just don't buy this. If you're excited for this pack then I'm actually genuinely happy for you and I hope you have fun :)
I have never seen it and will probably never see it. I’m with you. There is nothing about this pack that is making me want to buy it or even if it was gifted to me, nothing makes me want to play with it. If I wanted to play a Star Wars game, I would’ve just gone and bought one.
I agree (although I actually bought the My First Pet stuff pack and use the blinds, pet beds and hamsters quite often). There was nothing in the Star Wars pack trailer that appealed to me at all.
I’ve seen Star Wars and I’m not excited. I’m more excited for the my grunge stuff to put into my Apocalyptic World but that’s about it. So probably a no buy for me.
Look I like Star Wars, however, this is another example of EA blatantly ignoring what it's community is asking for in an attempt to siphon more money out of people. There is very little crossover between fans of the Sims and fans of Star Wars and they've gone out of their way to announce this at Gamescom where all the "real" gamers go and frame the Sims in a way that's appealing for an audience that it doesn't have. It's depressing. Another example of EA selling to the highest bidder and ignoring its regular consumers and fan base in the process
100% agree. I love Star Wars; if I wanted to have Star Wars gameplay, I'd play a Star Wars game. If I'm playing the Sims, I don't want to see my townies running around with lightsabers, I want friggin bunkbeds and cars and gameplay that simulates life, like a life simulator is supposed to.

They would never have added better skin tones if popular youtubers didn't bring it up, but they will gladly put out packs with the minimum amount of effort despite no one asking for them.
As someone, who kinda grew up with Star Wars and loves the franchise (until the recent films sry) I honestly hate this pack idea like I think it will be just like Strangerville except with lightsabers. I mean this game is missing so much stuff as is so yay let's just add star wars to the mix. Like what about other things like werewolves and fairies never mind things so obvious like more diverse skin tones and customisation, which shouldn't even be a thing we have to ask for. But if people are happy with this pack then they have every right to be able to be excited.
Right I love the older movies! But where are cars, resorts, the kraken, pre teens, actually being able to attend a high school with your sims (not just buckingham high), better gameplay for children and babies, new futuristic worlds, poc skin tones, poc hair texture, house boats, more jobs and etc...like wtfff are they doing?!
The older movies are my childhood! I mean... force awakens was pretty enjoyable, but the last two sequels? Not as much. I absolutely refuse to watch last jedi ever again. While people are entitled to their own gameplay styles (I’ve always gone for that “family with a twist” vibe), I think this is just not the best game pack to throw out when we’re still missing so much stuff. That being said, I’m still curious to see what this game pack will involve, as we only have seen a trailer. I just hope people who do love this pack maintain their excitement despite negativity.

The problem for me is not if you like Star Wars or not. The problem is: how does this pack improve and/or add to the previous game content and depth of the game? It doesn’t. It feels like they are just meeting obligations.
Star wars does not fit into the game. Its a life simulation game about creating and interacting. The only thing that would work is like talking about star wars or maybe light sabers??? Like we're not gonna build star wars themed houses every other day???

This is awful, why couldn’t they have made a unique space/future world for the Sims and come up with original ideas, or bring in ideas from Into the Future? It looks like they took an already existing Star Wars game, and just changed it to the Sims graphics. It feels like it has nothing to do with the rest of the Sims universe. An into the future inspired pack would've KILLED ME DEAD. That was maybe my favourite Sims 3 pack when I was younger and I would love to play it again! Why did they do a collab with a franchise that not everyone cares about or even likes when they've already got a sci-fi ish pack from an old game that they could do so much with now?? (I mean the answer to that question is "money" but I can't imagine this pack will sell super well? This is the first pack that's a guaranteed non-buy for me)
But it’s true. The main demographic of Sims players are primarily young women very closely followed by members of the LGBTQ+ community. Although I’m a 21 yo straight man, I can’t deny that people like me or James turner are a minority demographic in terms of the Sims.

Nobody’s talking about how this seems like a big cash grab. We already had aliens from BUYING Get to Work and Star Wars costumes in CAS, why are they making us pay for this space related stuff again? That’s the real issue here, whether you like Star Wars or not this could have been a stuff pack and patch update (a new secret world you could travel to in the rocketship). The time and money for this could have gone into making those skin tones..
@@GoatRider166 What I meant by that was that EA promised to update the ashy patchy dark skintones in the game but then announced Stars Wars as if darker skinned simmers haven't been asking for the skintones to be fixed since the game came out in 2014.

If you genuinely don’t like this pack, DO NOT BUY IT. Don’t buy it for the sake of having all the packs. Don’t buy it just to dump on it. Just don’t. Let EA feel how light their pockets get. There are several core things we are still missing in this game, things we have asked for over and over...only for the them to release a game pack connected to an entirely different franchise? Personally, if I wanted to play a Star Wars game, I’d go play one. Not sims. It just comes off like they either don’t listen, or just don’t care. :(
as someone who's been a lifelong star wars fan, this just ain't it? as everyone is aware disney does like to milk things to near death to make as much money as possible and to me this pack just doesn't make sense to me. i get creating varied gameplay but this just seems to stick out like a sore thumb, as kayla said these items aren't gonna be transferable and it just doesn't seem to fit into the game at all?? i get that there are occults etc so the game isn't heaped in realism but i feel like there's a difference adding aliens or vampires or whatever and making them your own, compared to adding specific characters and species from a franchise into the game. ofc buying the pack is optional but not being funny, if i wanna play a star wars game, i'm gonna play an actual star wars game?

The reason why this annoys me is because there are so many Star Wars games, that are well made and fun and entertaining. Why would I choose to play a Sims based Star Wars game when I could play something that's actually fun and made to be a Star Wars game. The Sims isn't built to be Star Wars because it's a life simulation game, not a sci fi action adventure game

Like, I wouldn't mind this train wreck if the game wasn't lacking so many things that we've been asking for years now. Literally: improved skintones, deeper gameplay, improved babies, more family/generations gameplay, a bazillion of glitches, cars, open neighborhoods, deeper personalities and social gameplay, and just more content like vacation worlds, hobbies, more animals/farms and like millions of other ideas and things people have been requesting for so long. But they go with this. Like, the game is lacking so much and everyone is asking for so many other things and yet they keep ignoring us and give us this. You shouldn't be playing around with weird spin offs in such a niche specific area when the game is so lacking and has been for so long and people have been asking for it for so long. I'm done.

I am literally wearing a Star Wars shirt right now and I'm still SO disappointed with this trailer. Batuu, the planet we are (probably) going to visit in this pack, doesn't exist in the movies and was created with the sole purpose of being the set for the new Star Wars area on Disney, so this pack is literally just a (presumably) very expensive advertisement for a freaking theme park! I know there are probably some people who are really excited for this pack but I just think the gameplay won't be very good (this trailer didn't show us NOTHING) and it doesn't even feel like star wars for me. I honestly would have preferred if they had just given us a giant Darth Vader plush for our sims kids something.
Agreed! I hope they took opportunity to give us more colorways/ swatches for the stuff they already gave us. I would like (for example) Princess Leia's hair/ dress in other colors, that would increase play-abliity.
I was watching this with my boyfriend (who doesn’t even play the sims) in the room and even he thinks this is nothing but a cash grab. I want a geek pack. I would’ve loved this if it was a theme park and there were conventions and geek things to go in your builds. Then the random sims that are going to inevitably spawn with alien bits in the middle of Newcrest could just be cosplayers in there way to the Batuu Convention Centre. I’m personally not going to write it 100% off until I see the actual gameplay/buildbuy. Just because EL looked iffy from the trailer and then was okay. (Other than the balcony and the NAPs debacle)
I wish it was at least set on an actual planet. The idea of setting Galaxy's Edge on a planet that isn't in the movies makes sense, but it really feels like they're trying to shoehorn it into everything

Honestly Kayla, I don't think a lot of people will like this. I think for the people who really love starwars, they don't want to play a game in the format of the sims (no action just completing a list of tasks). And for the people who love the sims, this seems to be adding content that is unusable apart from this very specific context, at least strangerville had some cool furniture which you could use elsewhere. I don't think the sims game itself is really conducive with a storyline.
I actually bought the Sims 4 so I could use the Star Wars costumes to make Han and Luke kiss. Some Star Wars fans are like girls you know... I’m really excited for the builds that are going to come from the assets in this pack. Some simmers really like fantasy simming!

You mentioned EA partnering with Disney or something - I would've much preferred an amusement park game pack than star wars - perhaps a sim version of Disney called 'Simsney' where families can go, buy souvenirs, go on rides, etc. At least that would give children something else they can do, and then my sim family can finally go on vacation that isn't jungle or camping

if they arent already interested in the sims, some costumes and decorations for a game with a totally different gameplay wont make them change their mind. star wars fans who want the star wars experience will look for something like battlefront or the lego games. I'm a star wars fan and my brother also is but he isnt a simmer, and this pack didnt make him interested in the sims because the gameplay experience he seeks is totally different
YES. OMG. Imagine you could go to the store to buy furniture like in the Sims 2, and your sim would have to build it. And the quality/overall look of the furniture depended on your sim's handiness skill. YES WE NEED THIS.

This isn't a community pack... this is a financial gain pack. I doubt that this was even a direction the sims team wanted initially, however, as EA own the game rights to star wars it does make sense. This may not be a pack for simmers, but it may be something that gets people to buy the sims for star wars
Yea I LOVE Star Wars, have since I was a child. But I don’t think I want this. I’m torn because I do want to play it and see how it is but I feel l’ll regret buying it and there’s gonna be a bunch of random Star Wars characters walking around in my normal family gameplay.

the black sims community have been asking for better skintones longgggg before they ever started this pack. They ignored us until big sims youtubers like simsie and plumbella called them out and with all the racial issues “coming to light”.
When she said that STAR WARS was a sensible collaboration I started laughing because yes Masitio is a expensive fashion brand it works at least but STAR WARS doesn't because we're playing a SIMULATION GAME.
I feel like you've never played any of the previous Sims games. Weird and whacky are core components of the series. No one played Sims 1-3 for a real life simulation game. We played them for magic and pet careers and putting rollercoasters inside hotels. I think it's important they continue to cater to their long-term fans as well as the newer ones.

However, I like the fact that it suggests The Sims exists in a wider universe. We're never told what country the Sims is set in, but we've been able to visit real world China, France, and Egypt in the past. We also have our fictional vacation worlds in Sims 4. It's fascinating to me that Batuu could also exist in the Sims universe and now I'm wondering if the planet we play in is in Unknown territory. I just think it's cool. But I've always liked alternate reality and multiverse stuff - anything in space fascinates me. Personally would love a Sixam non-vacation world though.
NiaMariae OMG yes thank you!!! I remember when the Sims used to be even more whackier and quirky and I always like the packs that offer variety like that. I legit like all the Supernatural packs and weird alien addition so this is right down my alley. Every comment asking for more life simulation: better babies, more mundane stuff, ugh I just roll my eyes. They get that kind of mundane stuff every release. I want the Sims to be like the old games where weird stuff was always in it. Idk. That adds more variety to my gameplay. Not more realistic babies lol. I can’t remember the last time I went past a generation.

Why would EA release a game pack when the people who interact with the community (the Game Changers) KNOW simmers will be pissed? They're like "people are gonna hate it but I like it" which is absolutely fine but I think EA shouldn't be allowing this game pack knowing already that's not what people want.
They could be working on it..it would take awhile for htem to be abled to code and put all that stuff into the game..they hopefully are now listening..who knows how long they have been working on this starwars pack for

We need to show EA that we are not going to spend money on them if they treat us like this, completely ignoring us and pushing the important things like race equality, good game play, REAL babies, etc into the corner. We need to show EA that we are not their money bags for them to milk all they like. If you actually want this pack, go ahead but if you don't don't just buy it for the sake of it.

i own every pack. literally every single one. and ive bought them all myself,as a teenage girl who's always made minimum wage, usually at full price bc ive always bought them when they release cause idk it's like the ONE HOBBY that i have and i just like having them all. i felt like i was happy putting my money into this game bc ive just always loved it and held it close to heart. but i just,,,,,,,cant buy this im sorry. i know that they can focus on multiple things at once and fix multiple problems and do other stuff this n that but,,,,,,,,,high chairs in the game haven't worked since they came out,,,,,years ago. and skin tones have been awful,,,,,,for years. the sims4 is nice dont get me wrong and has progressed in some ways buts overall it is honestly such a downgrade when you look at features in past games and it just feels like they blatantly dont listen to us at this point and its fully just for profit. im just not excited anymore. not to be dramatic but i kinda feel taken advantage of yaknow,,,,, :/
I totally get what you mean. I'm also a young fan making minimum wage, and I stopped buying all the packs I think two and a half years ago. I love the game and was happy to support it, but reached a point at which I couldn't justify putting money into a game whose developers so blatantly ignore everything the players want. I had a marriage bug for two years straight because of a pack (even after their fix, wtf), and so many other issues. I felt like they were hell bent on never giving us the simplest things, I just couldn't and can't understand their choices. It's EASIER to have matching wood swatches, it isn't that hard to give us more control of the game, simple things like bunk beds would get so much positivity, so little effort for so much gain... I'm not saying that the game has to provide those, but it frustrated me so much that they withheld really basic, easy to make features, or even basic bug fixes. So with all that in mind I totally get where you're coming from, and I'm really sorry the game isn't living up to your expectations. I don't know if you use mods, but if you do/are willing to, I recommend mccommand center and UI cheats for more control over your game, and KawaiiStacie and LittleMsSam's mods for more gameplay options. I hope you can still enjoy the game, even without liking these packs!
I totally agree. I too am a teenager who has bought all of the DLC with her own money, and i feel so taken advantage of. I knowni don't *have* to have all the game packs, but the sims is such a big part of my life for so long that its worth buying the packs in all cases but this.

I've been playing the Sims for twenty years. I find that the majority of the players are adults like yourself and myself, and of all genders. I also think this pack, is an insult to the Sims community. We ask for more skin tones, disabilities, cars, school pack, babies not being furniture, more family values. Nah the sims is definitely primarily teens. Teens and past sims games players. I’d argue that nearly all of the new players to the sims are in the teen range, with the other majority being the people who grew up playing older sims games.
They are trying too hard to cater to younger players. You can’t do it and not disappoint the older players. They should have just had a separate sims game geared to younger players. There were signs they were ruining the game to appeal to younger audience. They started with toning down the way woo hoo looked and making out. Then they went with more cartoon like graphics then look at the items for nifty knitting, all pastels in build mode. and seriously? Knitting? We want exciting family play they are treating the older players like we are 8 years old!!
This pack just looks like a reskinned jungle adventure. I seriously cannot comprehend how you can find silver lining in such an obvious cash-grab. As someone already commented under the trailer for the pack "it's just sims doing the same things but dressed as star wars characters". Light sabers are more or less going to end up like the "magic duels" that were so hyped up. Oh wow can't wait to get moodlets in space.
Some objects are legit jungle adventure reskins in the game too so ughh. Not into it even a little bit. Do a shitty cashgrab cant even bother to make new assets.

I have a question: Why are we sticking around? EA isn't listening. Babies are boring, teens are boring, elders are boring. The high chairs don't work. People of any color have such bland skin swatches, and even furniture have unmatched wood swatches. We need so much more if this game is going to be what it has been advertised as. We have asked time and time again for these additions, yet they're not providing. When they do give us what we ask for, they take years to add in these basic features that we should have had in the first place. I thought the first story pack, Strangerville, was okay. It added good customizing items and good furniture items, like the laptop. It wasn't very replayable, but the military feature was something I would have immediately bought the pack for. It was just okay. A pack like this? It's so sad. This is so pathetic. We are begging for better features that everybody could use regularly and they give us a Star Wars pack. Why? Because they know both Star Wars and The Sims are their cash cows. They love milking them both. They're lazy. This huge corporation isn't going to spend time that they clearly have making The Sims 4 a better product for the community. They aren't going to make this unrelated DLC a separate Sims game for a Star Wars story. They're combining them and making nobody happy.
I wish they brought back the Sims 2 police so that your teen can get arrested for causing trouble. Ugh so many small things from Sims 2 I miss. But also why do we not have proper dancing together, slow dancing, and bands!!!

This pack feels so forced. EA probably got a huge payout from Disney to make this- a glorified advertisement for their amusement park. NO ONE asked for a Stars pack. At all. That wasn't even a whisper in the running for most requested by the community. How can they continue to ignore us and justify it? Why give us a game pack that will be viable for one play through and then discarded? Why do we have to be a fan of x franchise in order to enjoy a gamepack for a LIFE SIMULATION game. Living in a “bubble of positivity” is definitely not always a good thing. Us criticizing the decision to do this pack should not be viewed as “negative” when the alleged “target audience” DID NOT ask for this! The community ranked this the LEAST wanted content to be added to their games and here we are, getting something that majority is against. Criticism is what helps make people/a company better when constructive, which I feel, is rightfully needed. With that being said, I’m trying to see the positive and be nice about it, even as someone who does not care for the Star Wars franchise at ALL, but this really is annoying that they would do this and probably not expect backlash. PS: No, everyone does not love Star Wars. It’s popular, sure, but definitely not something everyone loves.

In all honesty you can just leave it. I don’t understand this constant criticism for ‘realistic gameplay’ because you don’t have too buy the packs. Like another comment said, we’ve had mermaids, ghosts, vampires, witches, aliens in the game forever
My problem with this pack is that it looks to be lacking originally and being customisable. It seems lazy too. At least in stangerville, the storyline had room to be fleshed out. It is just star wars, but in the sims. There is no creativity. It would have worked better as a star wars inspired pack, or even better, a pack inspired by futuristic science fiction. This pack just feels like recycled content.
I agree. I love Star Wars, I grew up with it. However, I don’t think a full on pack taking place in Star Wars works for The Sims. It would’ve been better if they kept that space theme, but only used inspiration for maybe alien species and spaceships from Star Wars. Strangerville had an interesting story and was very unique. With a Star Wars pack there’s less creative freedom sadly. But I do also think this had to do more with EA than the sims team itself.
To be honest, if they, say, expanded the acting career path and added star wars costumes and stuff, maybe then it'd feel like it makes sense. This seems a shameless plug in for galaxy's edge (the new Disney star wars Park thing), because the park also depicts batuu. The worst part of it all is that no one cares about batuu, not even star wars fans would care about this pack.

This is the first Sims 4 pack that is a 100% non-buy for me. In every single other pack (except My First Pet Stuff lol) there's SOMETHING that interests me enough for me to get it, but as someone who hasn't seen Star Wars and probably will never see Star Wars because I don't like that genre, this feels kind of unnecessarily alienating?? I can already tell that there's gonna be a massive chunk of Sims 4 players that just don't buy this. Look I like Star Wars, however, this is another example of EA blatantly ignoring what it's community is asking for in an attempt to siphon more money out of people. There is very little crossover between fans of the Sims and fans of Star Wars and they've gone out of their way to announce this at Gamescom where all the "real" gamers go and frame the Sims in a way that's appealing for an audience that it doesn't have. It's depressing. Another example of EA selling to the highest bidder and ignoring its regular consumers and fan base in the process

As someone, who kinda grew up with Star Wars and loves the franchise (until the recent films sry) I honestly hate this pack idea like I think it will be just like Strangerville except with lightsabers. I mean this game is missing so much stuff as is so yay let's just add star wars to the mix. Like what about other things like werewolves and fairies never mind things so obvious like more diverse skin tones and customisation, which shouldn't even be a thing we have to ask for. But if people are happy with this pack then they have every right to be able to be excited.
Right I love the older movies! But where are cars, resorts, the kraken, pre teens, actually being able to attend a high school with your sims (not just buckingham high), better gameplay for children and babies, new futuristic worlds, poc skin tones, poc hair texture, house boats, more jobs and etc...like wtfff are they doing?!
The older movies are my childhood! I mean... force awakens was pretty enjoyable, but the last two sequels? Not as much. I absolutely refuse to watch last jedi ever again. While people are entitled to their own gameplay styles (I’ve always gone for that “family with a twist” vibe), I think this is just not the best game pack to throw out when we’re still missing so much stuff. That being said, I’m still curious to see what this game pack will involve, as we only have seen a trailer. I just hope people who do love this pack maintain their excitement despite negativity.

Star wars does not fit into the game. Its a life simulation game about creating and interacting. The only thing that would work is like talking about star wars or maybe light sabers??? Like we're not gonna build star wars themed houses every other day???

An into the future inspired pack would've KILLED ME DEAD. That was maybe my favourite Sims 3 pack when I was younger and I would love to play it again! Why did they do a collab with a franchise that not everyone cares about or even likes when they've already got a sci-fi ish pack from an old game that they could do so much with now?? (I mean the answer to that question is "money" but I can't imagine this pack will sell super well? This is the first pack that's a guaranteed non-buy for me)

Nobody’s talking about how this seems like a big cash grab. We already had aliens from BUYING Get to Work and Star Wars costumes in CAS, why are they making us pay for this space related stuff again? That’s the real issue here, whether you like Star Wars or not this could have been a stuff pack and patch update (a new secret world you could travel to in the rocketship). as someone who's been a lifelong star wars fan, this just ain't it? as everyone is aware disney does like to milk things to near death to make as much money as possible and to me this pack just doesn't make sense to me. i get creating varied gameplay but this just seems to stick out like a sore thumb, as kayla said these items aren't gonna be transferable and it just doesn't seem to fit into the game at all?? i get that there are occults etc so the game isn't heaped in realism but i feel like there's a difference adding aliens or vampires or whatever and making them your own, compared to adding specific characters and species from a franchise into the game. ofc buying the pack is optional but not being funny, if i wanna play a star wars game, i'm gonna play an actual star wars game?

Like, I wouldn't mind this train wreck if the game wasn't lacking so many things that we've been asking for years now. Literally: improved skintones, deeper gameplay, improved babies, more family/generations gameplay, a bazillion of glitches, cars, open neighborhoods, deeper personalities and social gameplay, and just more content like vacation worlds, hobbies, more animals/farms and like millions of other ideas and things people have been requesting for so long. But they go with this. Like, the game is lacking so much and everyone is asking for so many other things and yet they keep ignoring us and give us this. You shouldn't be playing around with weird spin offs in such a niche specific area when the game is so lacking and has been for so long and people have been asking for it for so long. I'm done.

I am literally wearing a Star Wars shirt right now and I'm still SO disappointed with this trailer. Batuu, the planet we are (probably) going to visit in this pack, doesn't exist in the movies and was created with the sole purpose of being the set for the new Star Wars area on Disney, so this pack is literally just a (presumably) very expensive advertisement for a freaking theme park! I know there are probably some people who are really excited for this pack but I just think the gameplay won't be very good (this trailer didn't show us NOTHING) and it doesn't even feel like star wars for me. I honestly would have preferred if they had just given us a giant Darth Vader plush for our sims kids something.

I want a geek pack. I would’ve loved this if it was a theme park and there were conventions and geek things to go in your builds. Then the random sims that are going to inevitably spawn with alien bits in the middle of Newcrest could just be cosplayers in there way to the Batuu Convention Centre.

Honestly Kayla, I don't think a lot of people will like this. I think for the people who really love starwars, they don't want to play a game in the format of the sims (no action just completing a list of tasks). And for the people who love the sims, this seems to be adding content that is unusable apart from this very specific context, at least strangerville had some cool furniture which you could use elsewhere. I don't think the sims game itself is really conducive with a storyline.

This isn't a community pack... this is a financial gain pack. I doubt that this was even a direction the sims team wanted initially, however, as EA own the game rights to star wars it does make sense. This may not be a pack for simmers, but it may be something that gets people to buy the sims for star wars

I feel like you've never played any of the previous Sims games. Weird and whacky are core components of the series. No one played Sims 1-3 for a real life simulation game. We played them for magic and pet careers and putting rollercoasters inside hotels. I think it's important they continue to cater to their long-term fans as well as the newer ones.

However, I like the fact that it suggests The Sims exists in a wider universe. We're never told what country the Sims is set in, but we've been able to visit real world China, France, and Egypt in the past. We also have our fictional vacation worlds in Sims 4. It's fascinating to me that Batuu could also exist in the Sims universe and now I'm wondering if the planet we play in is in Unknown territory. I just think it's cool. But I've always liked alternate reality and multiverse stuff - anything in space fascinates me. Personally would love a Sixam non-vacation world though.
NiaMariae OMG yes thank you!!! I remember when the Sims used to be even more whackier and quirky and I always like the packs that offer variety like that. I legit like all the Supernatural packs and weird alien addition so this is right down my alley. Every comment asking for more life simulation: better babies, more mundane stuff, ugh I just roll my eyes. They get that kind of mundane stuff every release. I want the Sims to be like the old games where weird stuff was always in it. Idk. That adds more variety to my gameplay. Not more realistic babies lol. Why would EA release a game pack when the people who interact with the community (the Game Changers) KNOW simmers will be pissed? They're like "people are gonna hate it but I like it" which is absolutely fine but I think EA shouldn't be allowing this game pack knowing already that's not what people want.

This is how all the simmers should feel. People should just be positive. The point of having all these packs is so you can build your own game with things that you like.
i own every pack. literally every single one. and ive bought them all myself,as a teenage girl who's always made minimum wage, usually at full price bc ive always bought them when they release cause idk it's like the ONE HOBBY that i have and i just like having them all. i felt like i was happy putting my money into this game bc ive just always loved it and held it close to heart. but i just,,,,,,,cant buy this im sorry. i know that they can focus on multiple things at once and fix multiple problems and do other stuff this n that but,,,,,,,,,high chairs in the game haven't worked since they came out,,,,,years ago. and skin tones have been awful,,,,,,for years. the sims4 is nice dont get me wrong and has progressed in some ways buts overall it is honestly such a downgrade when you look at features in past games and it just feels like they blatantly dont listen to us at this point and its fully just for profit. im just not excited anymore. not to be dramatic but i kinda feel taken advantage of yaknow,,,,, :/
I totally get what you mean. I'm also a young fan making minimum wage, and I stopped buying all the packs I think two and a half years ago. I love the game and was happy to support it, but reached a point at which I couldn't justify putting money into a game whose developers so blatantly ignore everything the players want. I had a marriage bug for two years straight because of a pack (even after their fix, wtf), and so many other issues. I felt like they were hell bent on never giving us the simplest things, I just couldn't and can't understand their choices. It's EASIER to have matching wood swatches, it isn't that hard to give us more control of the game, simple things like bunk beds would get so much positivity, so little effort for so much gain... I'm not saying that the game has to provide those, but it frustrated me so much that they withheld really basic, easy to make features, or even basic bug fixes. So with all that in mind I totally get where you're coming from, and I'm really sorry the game isn't living up to your expectations. I don't know if you use mods, but if you do/are willing to, I recommend mccommand center and UI cheats for more control over your game, and KawaiiStacie and LittleMsSam's mods for more gameplay options. I hope you can still enjoy the game, even without liking these packs!
I totally agree. I too am a teenager who has bought all of the DLC with her own money, and i feel so taken advantage of. I knowni don't *have* to have all the game packs, but the sims is such a big part of my life for so long that its worth buying the packs in all cases but this.

Firstly, I'm 26 years old. I've been playing the Sims for twenty years. I find that the majority of the players are adults like yourself and myself, and of all genders.
I also think this pack, is an insult to the Sims community. We ask for more skin tones, disabilities, cars, school pack, babies not being furniture, more family values.
If we wanted to play a star wars game, as would buy a star wars game.

StaticShorty thats what confuses me the most. they already did an outer space thing? it’s clearly different, but at the same time it’s frustrating bc this isn’t something completely new that the game is lacking entirely. we already have similar things, so it’s pretty disappointing and feels lazy and like they don’t listen to their buyers. i’m absolutely not buying this even if it’s redeeming in any way when we can look into it more. i too often get sucked in by BB or CAS.
Nah the sims is definitely primarily teens. Teens and past sims games players. I’d argue that nearly all of the new players to the sims are in the teen range, with the other majority being the people who grew up playing older sims games.
They are trying too hard to cater to younger players. You can’t do it and not disappoint the older players.
They should have just had a separate sims game geared to younger players. There were signs they were ruining the game to appeal to younger audience. They started with toning down the way woo hoo looked and making out. Then they went with more cartoon like graphics then look at the items for nifty knitting, all pastels in build mode. and seriously? Knitting? We want exciting family play they are treating the older players like we are 8 years old!!

This pack just looks like a reskinned jungle adventure. I seriously cannot comprehend how you can find silver lining in such an obvious cash-grab. As someone already commented under the trailer for the pack "it's just sims doing the same things but dressed as star wars characters". Light sabers are more or less going to end up like the "magic duels" that were so hyped up. Oh wow can't wait to get moodlets in space.
Some objects are legit jungle adventure reskins in the game too so ughh. Not into it even a little bit. Do a shitty cashgrab cant even bother to make new assets.

EA isn't listening. Babies are boring, teens are boring, elders are boring. The high chairs don't work. People of any color have such bland skin swatches, and even furniture have unmatched wood swatches. We need so much more if this game is going to be what it has been advertised as. We have asked time and time again for these additions, yet they're not providing. When they do give us what we ask for, they take years to add in these basic features that we should have had in the first place. I thought the first story pack, Strangerville, was okay. It added good customizing items and good furniture items, like the laptop. It wasn't very replayable, but the military feature was something I would have immediately bought the pack for. It was just okay. A pack like this? It's so sad. This is so pathetic. We are begging for better features that everybody could use regularly and they give us a Star Wars pack. Why? Because they know both Star Wars and The Sims are their cash cows. They love milking them both. They're lazy. This huge corporation isn't going to spend time that they clearly have making The Sims 4 a better product for the community. They aren't going to make this unrelated DLC a separate Sims game for a Star Wars story. They're combining them and making nobody happy.

If their target audience is teenage girls, then they should know majority of teenage girls do not give two shits about Star Wars. I have seen the first 6 Star Wars, they’re cool and stuff but so over done now. That being said I probs will purchase the pack solely for the new items rather than the gameplay. But it’s about time they start working on what’s already in the game and give us cars, better makeup options, better hair, more family stuff would be great!!

This pack feels so forced. EA probably got a huge payout from Disney to make this- a glorified advertisement for their amusement park. NO ONE asked for a Stars pack. At all. That wasn't even a whisper in the running for most requested by the community. How can they continue to ignore us and justify it? Why give us a game pack that will be viable for one play through and then discarded? Why do we have to be a fan of x franchise in order to enjoy a gamepack for a LIFE SIMULATION game. Non- fans of Star Wars have literally been robbed of a game pack. Thanks, EA.

So I feel a bit sad that of all the things they could do when collaborating with Disney . . . they choose something that I just don't feel like it belongs in the Sims 4 world. Living in a “bubble of positivity” is definitely not always a good thing. Us criticizing the decision to do this pack should not be viewed as “negative” when the alleged “target audience” DID NOT ask for this!
The community ranked this the LEAST wanted content to be added to their games and here we are, getting something that majority is against. Criticism is what helps make people/a company better when constructive, which I feel, is rightfully needed.
With that being said, I’m trying to see the positive and be nice about it, even as someone who does not care for the Star Wars franchise at ALL, but this really is annoying that they would do this and probably not expect backlash.
PS: No, everyone does not love Star Wars. It’s popular, sure, but definitely not something everyone loves.
