As a business owner I am SHOCKED that so many people have paid for their EIN always do research before you pay someone to do something for you
I almost payed Legal zoom up to $200 for an operating agreement and an EIN. Fotunately I had talked to a small business advisor from SCORE, so I knew better.
@@starbugmechanic5236 same!!! I saw they offered EIN and was like "let me go look this up because I could have sworn you can get it for free". Plus their calculation for the state licensing fee wasn't adding up to me. My state also doesn't require an operating agreement so I'm making my own.
How do you get it free? Mine wants to charge me 275 through irs gov
But some of us enter business from different paths and we've seen the worst and would sometimes rather pay someone to do it right then to damage something that may end up costing more money to fun do what we screwed up but yeah I understand what you say

@@yvonnerod6276 I believe you need your LLC or other license # please someone reply if I am wrong.
@@Amatullah.574 you need a LLC first to apply for EIN. You can go to the government website and register with a username and password then check where it says business and click on LLC company, after you can do it step by step filling up all the questions, but you can check a TH-cam channel with the name ( LLC university ), he explains everything very clear and you can do it yourself, and you don’t need to pay to legal zoom or others company extra money.
So perfect! Helped me set up the EIN on the spot! and the flow helped me feel confident to do it on my own

Hey Destiny, first of all thank you for making this effortless... we need more people like you! With that being said when i filed for my EIN... i noticed that in the field where i am to put my LLC name... it does not lt me put a comma after the name to insert the LLC as it is in my articles (Ex. Name, LLC) so i was forced to put it as "Name LLC" ... will that be an issue?

Looks like you have to apply for your llc first. Because on the EIN application you have to state the name of your business just as it is on your license. That was in the video ✨️

Hi Destiny thank you for this information. I do have a question. I noticed that when they asked for the full LLC name you provided your own. My question is should I register my business name first as an LLC or Sole Proprietor?? Or does that even matter?

Hi, thanks for the detailed video! Do I need to get a business to obtain a EIN? If so, do I get the license before or after? I know you mentioned multiple hustles...do you have a separate EIN for each one? Would you carry any of your hustles/businesses under the LLC?

You will need to register your business before applying for an EIN number. Without a business, there is no need to apply for an EIN number . I hope this helps.

This helps! By the way, how long does it takes for you to get your EIN? I heard it takes up to 4 months under extreme cases.
Mine was auto-approved after applying and I was able to download the pdf right away to print it off.

You'll only select LLC if you have an LLC prior to getting your EIN. Otherwise you will choose sole proprietor
I currently have a sole proprietor, if I wanted to switch to LLC in the future will I need to register for a new Tax EIN?

EIN has been free forever. There is this company the posses as the IRS. If you not careful, they will get you. They get lots of folks. But EIN is free.
