The Garmin DriveSmart 65 bundle with bean bag mount, case and 12V port doubler I mentioned is here amzn.to/3TpnJdG (Amazon affiliated link) Also, this USB power cord *_will power the DS65 without the need for a Garmin charger_* amzn.to/3K1wEhY (Amazon affiliated link) I have tested this personally and it does work.
The 65 & the 65 w/Alexa have a couple differences. The Alexa version allows you to say "OK Garmin" "Walmart in Nashville" Or "Walmart in Chattanooga" where in the non Alexa you have to tap the screen to the near feature. The other difference is the non Alexa version will ask you if you want to add the location to the existing route. The Alexa Version just takes you there without asking if you want to add to the route. With the Alexa version will add to the route if you add the new location via the screen. I have multiple Garmin's and find the 65 Alexa my favorite over the 65 & 55.
The DriveSmart 65 or any Garmin nuvi, Garmin Drive or Garmin DriveSmart model using this free India map should work in India www.userbeam.de/osm/maps/asia/india/ You will need to enter GPS coordinates manually to find locations the Garmin can use. GPS coordinates information can be found using Google Maps. For example, to get to University of Rajasthan, entering coordinates N 26.88859 E 75.81384 with the India map loaded in a Garmin would lead me directly here maps.app.goo.gl/ExMF7NBXGDXoTjpf9 I would suggest getting a cheap used Garmin nuvi first to test GPS signal strength, and to test the free India map to see if it is good enough for what you need.
I am using the themes you created on my dezl and I find the colours are much better than the stock themes - maybe try and see if that improves the blue tint you are experiencing ? I share your frustration with the favourites icons - will give the poi workaround a try 👍
Changing themes only works in some areas. The text still "blares" to my eyes during night driving no matter how low the brightness setting due to the preset color temperature. This is the reason modern smartphones and tablets have a "blue light filter" or "night mode" setting where blue is decreased and red increased to specifically reduce eye strain during night viewing.

I just bought one today for 2 bucks at a thrift store!
I watched this video on my 75 inch tv and the Garmin looked like it was made for the BFG!
Does this work in india?
