honestly i don't think people realize how impressive this is. I'm fully bilingual, grew up speaking two languages natively, and there is just no way i can do a convincing accent of one language in the other, or vice versa. i speak both too fluently but also too separately, i guess? it's hard to articulate but i just can't try to plug one into the other like she does here.
Same here! It was not that easy. If I want to do this I would need to hear someone else doing it and copy that person's accent.
When you've been through most of your school years learning english with classmates who have that awful french accent, it's fairly easy to replicate it.

I don't quite agree, personally I am bilingual French/Italian thanks to my parents (Italian dad and Franco-Italian mom) and my years in Italy as a child .... and I take the Italian accent when I speak French, it's quite easy (the opposite less). We still have a language that is placed "above" the other. I dream in French, I speak more often in French. In short, it's not 50/50.

Little trick, like she said we don’t put emphasis on the same part of the word. So if you want to sound more french pronounce the first letter and last syllable more than the rest. I do the opposite when speaking English, I pronounce the middle of the word. Try the word comfort thst way.

I was lucky enough to take a French class with a fluent French speaking professor, so we were able to learn pronunciation pretty well. I'm pretty grateful for that.

Her demeanor suggests she was raised well; I am impressed by her in this video. I did not realize she was grown; I expected a young child, however I vaguely recall when Johnny was with Vanessa. I find speaking English uses more physical effort (mouth and throat) than French. French is very much in the front of the face, the tip of the tongue and front teeth whereas English feels more in the back of the mouth and throat which feels like it uses more muscles.

As a French speaking person it's natural to be able to do the accent, even when speaking another language. For foreigners it might be hard, but when it's your first language the sounds come naturally so there are no challenges.

One interesting thing I noticed how she said the r sound is unique to only French which she’s like 99.9% right. There’s a region in Puerto Rico where their Spanish has the same r sound (made in the back of the mouth) & makes you wonder if that specific area had French settlers at one point. Food for thought
Puerto Rico is right next to Hispaniola which was a French colony (i don't know for Dominican but there a lot of French in Haïtien Créole), and to be true we alors find this r in the Italian dialect of Lombardy because of their proximity to France.
In Portugal we pronounce the r sound exactly the same way as in France. Many centuries ago it was a lot more like the Spanish r sound but it has changed and now it is definitely very French.
I hope she does a lot more acting in movies. I think she would be very popular and do a excellent job.

@@priscillasauri7233 Not really anymore. He has a lot of English and french in it, as that's where they've predominantly lived. He has said Lily speaks both languages so fluently and that he doesn't understand how she can just switch. It's hard for him to speak English after having spoken French and the other way around. Some people are just really good with languages. My sister, for example, we're European, is 14 and never been in an English-speaking country yet she has a fluent American accent when speaking because of youtube and Netflix...
