I love MGH. I had my first kidney transplant there in 2002. It was my adaptive father who donated, and it lasted 19 wonderful years. I changed hospitals but I’m excited to come back to MGH for my evaluation.
    Words of advice:
    1. Always advocate for what you deserve. If you’re not happy with your hospital, you can get worked up at as many hospitals as you want. But MGH is great from my experience.
    2. You are the center of the healthcare team. This is your life and your body. Your opinion matters.
    3. Educate as many people as you can.
    4. Dialysis is depressing. Take care of yourself. Don’t be hard on yourself if you don’t accomplish everything. Be proud of the small accomplishments!
    Good luck and God bless

What a wonderful and helpful comment. Thank you so much for sharing your experience & wisdom. It's incredibly encouraging. My husband needs a kidney; has been on dialysis (both peritoneal & most recently doing in-center hemodialysis for past 4 years--7 1/2 years total between the two).
Tried another hospital. Big mistake on multiple levels. Completely grateful to now be working with MGH Kidney Transplant Team.✌🏼🫠🙌🏼
      PS Hope you're doing well.
