I'll go for 18" not only because it's more comfortable but also if you frequently travel through potholes or uneven parts of roads you'll improve longevity for your rims.
In the states, there is always construction on the motorways where they sometime switch you into a reversed lane. It was great to see you test the driver assist in a common scenario and hard to believe that Volvo didn’t think of that.
Transparency note: Autogefühl videos are independent and free from editorial influence on opinion and rating. But since manufacturers enable us to do the reviews in the first place, for legal reasons this video is marked as _advertisement_.
I don't get the hate against the 2-click gear selector; you can knock against it once by accident, and it will have no real consequences. And knock twice against it in a row by accident isn't an accident. So that's another way of protecting the gearbox and the car.
Nice review but a bit of confusion there. XC40 is on Merc GLA segment, not GLC. And the XC60 is on GLC segment, not GLE as mentioned. Those big R-design wheels seem horrible for comfort by the way :)
I also tested one XC60 T6 with 22 inch wheels and air suspension and the feeling was that there was no suspension at all!! And the consumption was out of this world, driving around 100km/h I was not able to do lower than 14,4l/100km! Very disappointed. Cancel the purchasing and opt for the B5 Momentum pro with 19 inch wheels. expect a much better ride and consumption
I am amazef that a company like Volvo bought the BD of extra large wheels. They servr no real purpose other then making money for the rims and tyres companies.
Regarding the topic of 180km/h limit in Volvos... I absolutely agree with your view. I own a new gen Volvo and I never drove it faster than 140 km/h, even in Germany. If you think about stoping safe, it is difficult to enjoy high speeds on public roads. It's all about enjoying the trip for me.
I think having this much HP but not being able to go faster is kind of strange. My 2020 A Class is limited to 219 and I'm already feeling disappointed. I won't do those speeds when their's that much traffic but sometimes I like to go fast and I'm glad I'm able to do it.
@@MABFR01 Exactly, as I mentioned above, it is personal. One side note, though - gearing is crucial for speed and acceleration. Power is naturally important, but you can have 1000 hp and still not be able to go over 200 km/h if the gearing is short. Nowadays, gearing is also dictated by emission standards, so it's almost impossible to make everyone happy :)
I only want the Polestar versions to have the option. They gave them track suspension, and being floggable is kind of the whole point of the Polestar variants. I actually don't think the 180 km/h limiter has anything at all to do with safety, I think it's actually an attempt to herd performance junkies interested in Volvo over to Polestar proper. But I don't want a Polestar, not until they are built somewhere else and have a proper sedan instead of a cross-over posing as one.
Taking delivery of the same model without the Pro What’s the MPG if driven sensibly on a warmish day? I know it has power but I am just wondering if 30mpg is achievable
Autogefühl 21 inch R-design. But i dont live in Germany so it may also depend on the roads where i drive. But my 19 inch winter tires gives much more comfort i noticed so i agree with you Thomas that people should chose 19 inch if they want the best comfy ride 👍🏼

Get the V60 Cross Country with city weave. It’s a nicer driving car yet still elevates you a bit, with the raised suspension. True the interior volume height is less, but you won’t miss it. The V60 also returns better fuel economy.
I had one of these as a loaner from the dealer the last two days. The steering horrible - when coasting, there is a glitch in the steering that causes it to abruptly have resistance.
Nice detailed review Thomas! Thank you! We have many Volvo’s in the family, so little new here for 2020. My mother-in-law has the ‘19 XC60 Inscription; it’s a very good and attractive vehicle, but I’m personally not a fan of upright SUV seating. Our former ‘16 XC60 used to give me foot cramps. I much prefer our V90’s driving experience, though they are understandably less airy, with the very sloped windshield and roof, yet are still roomy. My wife’s V90 Cross Country is a great all around go anywhere do anything car, compared to my sportier but less practical V90 R-Design. I would also recommend to your viewers the V60 Cross Country with this mild hybrid T5 or regular T5 over this XC60. I think you’ll find it as the perfect all-around premium family wagon! Oh, and you said the XC40 is in very close competition with this XC60? For sure in passenger accommodations, but let me stress one very important differentiator here: the XC40 is not as safe. It does not perform as well as the XC60 (nor any other Volvo) in the strict US IIHS “Small Frontal Overlap” crash test. The XC40 does not react to the barrier by deflecting G-forces away from the vehicle like all other Volvo’s, it absorbs a very hard impact at the firewall, with the brunt of a full head-on collision, not unlike Audi and Mercedes (and most other brands). We drive Volvo’s for optimum protection of our family.
The Pilot -Assist does not work in construction sites. It works only when you have clear white lanes. That is my experience. A MB GLC can handle this also in the construction site - as soon as the lanes )yellow or white) have been good enough it works. Regarding the Air-Suspension I noticed, that in many situations the XC60 is a bit more sensitve then the MB GLC. BUt in most cases the Airmatic from the GLC acts better Thanks and regards, Frank

In an earlier V60 review, you said the steering was not very precise, aha I thought, maybe he's a bit, not purposly, but unconsciously biased towards the german cars. But after renting the V60 for a week I realised that it was me ( because I'm Swedish) that was biased😆. The steering is really artificial. A dealbraker for me, of an otherwise very good car.
