I once bought a 916 V6 GTV for a tad over 3k then spent another 4k getting it ready to drive to Italy for Alfa’s centenary in 2010. If it’s your car, enjoy it & to hell with the cost. Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks!

In advance I admit to fitting a custom made Remus exhaust system from Austria to my 156 V6, which was ten years old at the time. It gave me the ‘James May Fizz’…

Doesn’t look like the anti roll bars have been upgraded (at least in the rear) which is one of the best upgrades you can do to a 156 to reduce lift off oversteer. The underside of the car is shocking with the amount of welding it’s had.

To remove the rear manifold just undo the rear engine mount and remove it, then undo the top stabiliser mount and jack the engine to tilt it to the front. The manifold then comes out on the top with a bit of a wiggle.

Im from Poland and mechanics there say that the renovation of this gearbox is very hard and expensive (lack of the parts they say) The point is they say that i should buy just a used one in good condition from other 2.0 TS, do you know do the gearboxes from other TS fit to this particular engine in my spider>?

Problem with getting into 4th gear a common problem. Normally due to swarf buildup in the gearbox. Get the garage to remove the gearbox end casing and clear out the metal swarf buildup. Go onto the alfaworkshop website in UK they have instructions on how to do this.
