Santianna was such a meanie. It's almost like Tex went up to protect them. Tex didn't seem to mind sharing a pasture with her while she was laying on the eggs.
I think Tex knew that you needed to get the babies and Joan and he was trying to back out the barn for you but he kept looking at you like "Mom, a little help here. I don't have a backup camera like Dad"

OMG I just about had a heart attack along with you Jami both times Santiana approached and the whole time Tex was under the barn roof. They are so tiny and that big horn swiping across Joan was so scary. Journey was definitely looking down upon these guys and helping to protect them. I love their names from Our Gang. Hope one has a feather that sticks up on his head like Alfalfa and maybe one will be a bit bushier around the head for Buckwheat. Darla fits her and Spanky will need a beanie. Lol. have you considered getting a small chicken coop just to keep moms and their chicks separate from the rest of the animals until the chicks are a bit bigger? You could also transfer broody ducks or chickens there while they are trying to hatch, to be sure you can protect and feed them? It might help you get some peace of mind and stress less on their safety?
I want to look at it and think, Santianna was showing Joan what Jami wanted was for Joan to move, so Santianna was helping Joan move. Then Gracie and Tex were wondering why Jami was scolding Santianna for helping Joan. However, was it Santianna being territorial? Was it Santianna being curious about the chicks? One has to wonder what was Santianna's motive?

I didn't scream when Santiana did her thing to Joan, but I bet me sucking air in took the paint off the walls. At one point one of the babies was peeking out from Momma's wing, that was so sweet. Always good and heartwarming to see LE and Lester being so tender with the feather babies that are so delicate. Santiana needs time out!!

I love the names., The Little Rascal are my favorite. It was scary but I think Santiana was just marking her territory. So glad Joan or the babies were not hurt, nice rescue you guys.

I didn't scream when Santiana did her thing to Joan, but I bet me sucking air in took the paint off the walls. At one point one of the babies was peeking out from Momma's wing, that was so sweet. Always good and heartwarming to see LE and Lester being so tender with the feather babies that are so delicate. Santiana needs time out!!

That was the scariest thing. I did not realize I was holding my breath until you got Joan and babies into the nursery. I can't believe Santana did that to Joan. Joan is a good Mother.

Oh my goodness. That was scary. Thank goodness you were out there Jami, to rescue them. I don't know if Santiana was being mean or if she was just trying to tell them to get out of the way. Either way it was scary. I'm just glad that everyone made it to the nursery safe and sound. Jami, God put you in the right place at the right time. You are an angel.
