I'm a "Louisiana" boy of 77 years. My family pioneered in the area since the 1700's on my mothers side and in the Deep South since 1626 on my fathers. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

It is such a beautiful place. I want to go back and spend a little more time. Been a Louisiana transplant for 28 years now. Love it.

I was going to go there a few weekends ago. But we ended up going to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. I'll probably make it out there this spring.
Thanks for the look at the area. That etouffee looked pretty good!

Great to hear from you Shawn. We really enjoyed our visit to Avery Island. A lot more to do than I initially thought. The scenery was really amazing. The Buddha at Jungle Gardens is definitely really cool to see as it was made over 900 years ago. Not something you see often. There is a lot of history. The iconic oaks were absolutely beautiful with so many opportunities for photography.
