I get a sense that there are a lot of players in the Man City team that have checked out a bit. Unconsciously it's hard to keep going again and again, to be on all the time for so many years with such high standards your body/mind just grows naturally tired. There is only so long a person can be in a position that demands such high standards, constant excellent performances, the amount of games as well. Considering how far they go in competitions year after year, the amount of finals in those years, international football in which everyone in City is a starter for their home nations. It's a lot to ask to do more for as long as they did. Could turn it around but realistically some of these players won't be able for it and they will want to leave. Just feels like it's slowing down at City and there's a need to move some players along and freshen up the squad with hungry, fresh players.
Peps cycles usually go 3-4 years where he previously only signed such contracts he is now going beyond that to currently 10 so you could say something has to give within that much time and we’re seeing it
Pep is definitely being salty and defensive, as if he has something to prove. He's never been able to prove he can win things without spending the most money and having the best players. Thats just a fact. Im not a hater, I think hes outstanding, but there's things he hasn't proved.
If City go on a 16 game winning streak (not something that's likely but they have done it in the past) and Liverpool in the same period win 11, draw 4 and lose 1 (so not exactly a slump), the gap would be 0 points. That's why 11 points isn't a fortress. You're talking about a team that can suddenly click and then the wins just flow.
Pep needs to rebuild. Simple. Every side needs to. Liverpool fell apart when Hendo, Fabinho’s legs went and they needed to rebuild the midfield. Same with City - losing Rodri, aging of Walker, injuries to the likes of De Bruyne, Dias, Stones, losing Alvaraz. None of that helps city. I am hoping Liverpool can take advantage of this blip this season. But there’s 2/3rds of the season to go.
The reason why the hashtag guadiola out is not trending it's because he Is a proven champion. And this is confusing lots of people. But I still believe they will win the league. I will lose this belief I have in guadiola if a team in front of him is 15 points ahead and there are only 8 games remaining. And that team should be a team like Liverpool not arsenal, Chelsea or even my team United coz these teams can't go 8 games at the end of the season without dropping points.
Ferguson also faced declines time and time again. From 03 he spent 3 years without winning the league. Sadly, legendary player Ruud only won one because of this. Funny to think even Berba and Chicharito have more epl titles.
Too many players past their best and Pep didn’t strengthen when he should have last season. Maybe he wasn’t planning on staying and had a change of mind and its why City didn’t buy anyone. Feel sorry for Gundogen. He didn’t think he’d be playing 90 minutes every game. He was supposed to be cover for Rodri and play 15/20 minutes here and there.
Liverpool were like 11 points clear after Christmas and we still lost to City. Until the last kick of the season and we're a few points clear, I'm not celebrating anyone's decline.
Difference being city have games in hand and won them lol,you conveniently leave that out though, city are losing at least 3 more games with the way there playing,Liverpool ain’t losing 7 games, only Arsenal in it
There's something going on. There aren't currently 115 charges sitting in a courtroom. The media don't seem to mention it but can't that be in the minds of the players?
Pep has only built one team really, most of the players that won titles in his first 3 seasons were players from the Mancini era so Pep has yet to build a second team, not sure why Gary keeps on saying his built 2 teams.
There is No cause for alarm… winning lot of trophies back to back is not for every team… There are big clubs who have been rebuilding for over 10 years just to win a premier league trophy 🏆, they have changed coaches, laid off players, bring in new players for several seasons and still can’t win the league trophy… so City fans we should understand is not easy winning the premier league every season. At this moment our players look fatigue, depleted, no motivation, lacking confidence and mental toughness… plus the injury issues. Is normal for us to struggle these season. All winning clubs at certain stage goes through these crises and they fix it and bounce back. Trust In Pep, he has the track records… let’s just try to finish the season in good position even we don’t win any medals. There will be massive rebuilding next season in all departments. Most of the current players will have to move on elsewhere… sometimes playing for same club after won everything the motivation to win again with the same football club is not there… is normal in team sports. We win we lose we draw we are still CITIZENS. We shall bounce back stronger. Don’t doubt SIR PEP, he will turn things around. Is okay let the rival fans laugh at us, they have every right to laugh at us because for the past seasons we have been beating them back to back, we took away their happiness, they have been patiently waiting to see City go through crises, and now this is the time, now is time for them to also laugh at us. But our situation is not going to be like United struggling for years since Ferguson left, we shall be back very soon make my words, City is well structured with think tank brain backroom staffs and owners, they will fix this on field and technical issues very soon. AWB had Doku in his back pocket in the cup final. Haaland is still a huge threat but to often just a light blue shirt on the edge of the picture, are Stones and Grealish earning their place?
