The lyrics say: Bring the "mejwez" (a Middle Eastern instrument double-pipe, single-reed woodwind instrument) / ya Abboud (Oh Abboud, i.e. way of saying Abdallah in an effectionate way, Abboud being one of her permanent musicians), and let the dark eyed lady dance, and let the Shahroura as Sabbouha (meaning Sabah herself) sing and let the guns roar (meaning roar as a sign of happiness - Arabs shoot guns in happy occasions....).

Her name Sabah, which means the morning, and she likes a summer morning full of energy and life, while Fayrouz is like a sad and melancholy winter morning. In Lebanon, there is a constant comparison between Sabah and Fairuz, because they differ from each other, and the competition between them was great, and both of them achieved a very great success.

That's a part of her dress 😀..Sabah was famous for her beautiful dressing style , had always been so elegant and chic..Sabah had always been joyful and brings smile to your face spontaneously..Sabah started her career in Egypt in the 1940s, acted in many Egyptian movies and stayed there till the 1970s..then moved back to Lebanon..That's why we Egyptians love her alot and love her songs..BTW, Farid Al Atrash had composed many songs for her , he was her close friend and neighbour as well ..Good choice , Jay
    Have a nice day 😊

Sabah was considered not only a legendary voice but also a fashion icon....People all over the Arab world waited for her appearance on TV to see what she dressed on or what new trend she was going to set. Even in her 50s and 60s movies she looked gorgeous💜

Of course she is related to Egypt... Every famous singer or actor in the Arab world 🌍 is related to Egypt... She was a famous singer and actress in Egyptian movies.. Egypt is the land of opportunities of the artists especially during that time.. It's The Hollywood Of The East.

All non egyptian singers came to egypt in childhood in order to gain experience and fame as the artist Sabah, Warda Al-Jazaeryia, Faried Al-Atrash and his sister Asmahan, so that they appear in films and sing in these films alone or with the major Egyptian stars such as Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez, Muharram Fouad, Mohamed Fawzy, Shadia, Laila Murad, Fayza Ahmed, Najat Al Saghira and her sister artist Souad Hosni and others. That was more than a century ago. And we love all of them. All of us are Arab❤️

If you enjoyed Sabah, you will surely enjoy the singer SAMIRA TOUFiC (سميرة توفيق) in the bedouin genre as she was this freedom loving woman and with exquisite gypsy dresses. I suggest "Ya Ain Moulayyiteyn" (عالعين موليتين) for example. She was born in Syria and has Armenian roots like me. She is highly popular in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and the Gulf. ٍShe is fabulous as a live singer.

She was born in Lebanon and she is 100% Lebanese and I do know her family and she still lives in Lebanon. She chose to sing in a Bedouin accent to be different from the other famous Lebanese singers.
