      The opener has to be good. The middle can be weak. But the closer has to end strong, because the first and last is what people remember the most. Walking to the car, reciting jokes at the after spot... It's the closer. Definitely important for music, sports and comedy.

      I agree! Just give me a good show.
      Cuz here in ATL, that’s a $300 - $400 evening for my wife and I.
      Sitter = $50 (our niece sits)
      Tix = $100 - $200 for 2 tixs
      Parking = $10 - $30 depending on venue
      Adult Bevs = $60 for 4 cocktails
      Food = $60
      So yeah, forget the lineup order. Just give us a good show.
      Here are some comedians that have NEVER let us down while performing here in ATL:
      Sommore
      DL
      Corey Holcomb
      Earthquake
      Lavell Crawford
      Ashima Franklin
      Guy Torry
      Mario Torry
      TK Kirkland
      Bill Burr
      Chappelle
      Rock
      Steve Harvey’s ‘Retirement Tour’
      Vanessa Fraction
      Arnez J
      Bill Burr
      Aries Spears

    Ever since the Netflix situation, Monique's comedy routine has changed from her usual standup to adding personal grievances to the show. It reminds me of another celebrity a few years ago that was voted into the highest position in our country. Often this person would verbally, and over social media would type their personal tirades and problems out to folks. Over time, many voters got tired of the song and dance and I think many of Moniques fan base are starting to get tired of this version of her as well. People don't pay lots of money to hear her complaints about a contract dispute. And just for the record, how is it that she had more grace and humility towards black women who argued her over wearing bonnets outside the house than a misunderstanding with a black man over who closes the show? Go figure. Its all petty in comparison to real life issues going on in our country.

    What I find interesting is the double standard. Everyone said Will & Jada Smith needs to learn how to take a joke but DL doesn't have to? Yawl think that Comedians are exempt from jokes and insults? A Comedians entire career is based on telling jokes and insulting people. All is fair on the stage, right?

    Monique clearly had no comedy material that night in Detroit she decided to talk about a man and his family. Monique need to address her husband/manager and the promoter about the contract.

      Bob, her comedy is always on point. but DL tried to ambush her in full view , if i was her i would blast his ass in the open too. Y'all need to have guts and read contracts . zoom on what is printed tiny FIRST.

    From the SAT section... *Mo'Nique : DL Hughley :: Will Smith : Chris Rock* I understand Mo'Nique is frustrated, but I don't fully understand _why_ she is _still_ frustrated. If I paid for that show, I honestly don't know how I would have felt listening to all the hostility directed at DL when I paid to see her do stand-up. It's one thing to have a routine about a celebrity. It's another thing to have a routine about a celebrity _who is coming on stage after you._ Bottom line: The reason given to her why she wasn't getting Chappelle or Schumer money from Netflix was because she hadn't done any noteworthy stand-up in about 10 years. She was doing movies and her TV show, then she took a few years off, which brought us to the "Girl's Trip" controversy. If this is what she considers stand-up, she won't have to worry about Netflix or anybody else.

    That lady is a toxic co worker. Does nothing but burn bridges then blames others 4 the flames. Some may say I'm wrong, but I hope this is the last time the spotlight is put on her. So many others deserve what she clearly doesn't value.

      Great point. She doesn't deserve to be on a stage because she thinks it is all about her and not the people who paid to hear her tell jokes.

      Her toxic behavior comes from her brother raping her at the age of seven and after he raped her, he took her down the street and let two of his friends rape her again, so i understand where her distrust of men & always feeling victimized by them comes from but she needs to see a therapist for that. DL was actually a friend of hers; hopefully, the friendship isn't ruined but she about to work with 50 cent & may God help her if she screws him over

    I completely agree with Yamaneika! She’s just calling everybody out in the moment. Of course, if you just hush and take it, you won’t have conflicts. Everybody loves you when you are willing to take the mess. Not saying DL is wrong here. Pierre just hurt lol

    It has never been about her taking up for herself, its how she says it and goes about it. Its completely unprofessional! You cant talk to people any kind of way and expect to go unscathed. Also, it seems like alot of people have had bad experiences with Mo behind the scenes

    The tragedy is whether it is the infamous 'slap' or the disparaging comments made about others, there is more uproar over these encounters than the problems that have plagued the Black community. The widening racial health and wealth disparities rarely get specifically addressed with concrete perspectives and strategies that changed the quality of our lives. People in leadership roles do more to water down what we can gain when they dysfunctionally pursue initiatives under the umbrella of POC, people of color labels. It was hard to watch the current VP before the election say she would never do anything exclusively for Blacks. We are consistently bending over backward to help everyone else but ourselves. Being upset about what happens between a couple of Black people making a great deal of money does nothing to move the needle on issues critical to our well-being as families, businesses, and communities. Without more of us being more focused on quid pro quo type demands to elect new candidates and hold people in office accountable in order to be re-elected, we will gain less clout and continue to get less...

    I was happy for Monique that her career was taking off again, but no one wants to pay for listening to her grievances and gripes on stage. There’s a time and a place for everything and that wasn’t the place during her stand up. No one wants to hear all that noise.
