PJ is a stone goddess idol, smiling shyly, sneering almost, nearly motionless. Her body is molten under cold black leather. She puts the crowd in a trance. Her guitar chatters alien proclamations. Her worshippers are blessed under noise and mist.
IMO Man-Size (sextet) is the best version of this song! It's what made me fall in love with PJ Harvey's music. I'm now on an endless journey to find another song (even from her) that sounds like the same style and as good.
Whats up with the cameraman barely showing PJ? We get it the crowd is huge, we know she can pull 10s of thousands of people but she looked hot in that look and this is her concert.. glad they showed the drummer though.
Fantastique, comme Siouxsie Sioux, elle a le pouvoir de nous envoûter avec un seul mot par sa puissance et présence vocale. Wa … Wa … Wa … Waaa aaa aaa ter. Stupéfiant!
It was illegal in those days to show the lead singer for longer than three seconds per song. Fortunately, the law changed just in time for the start of the second song, Water.
I do not think it's coincidence that the camera man not focus PJ, it's something I found quiet a lot, when se does something "raw" or "dirty" in the majority of her videos the camera just disappears of her. I believe it's because the sexism of that time that people do not like a woman doing rock but idk I hope not sound crazy but I really believe it is. Tired of footages of her being doing amazing eclipsed by the weird camera moves
@@deadbeatjack2307 I put them up and don’t know if anyone got anything out of them, all I know is people just keep playing “Hardly Wait” and “Man-Size” completely wrong and uploading videos of it to TH-cam 🥴 Unfortunately most PJH fans nowadays don’t seem to even care about her heavy rock stuff. The ones who do just ignored my videos, so it’s like what’s the point?
One of the greatest live artists ever, it’s 2023 and she still sounds beyond amazing
You’re not wrong,untouchable!!!!
Agreed. It’s 2024 and she’s still amazing
The year is 2037...
She is still FUCKING AWESEOME.
currently making progressive death/black metal meets ABBA...
We are lucky.
I LOVE PJ.
She was only 23 here...what a talent!
This is great! I wish the whole show was released on video or TH-cam. This is high quality but it’s too short!
What a truly exceptional performance....the whole band nailed this 100%.
She encapsulated an era for me looking back

Raw and powerful!
OMG! Just how GORGEOUS is that! DIVINE!
My God, the young people in that audience are now in their 50s or more.
She looks so badass in this but it’s too bad the camera kept avoiding her after the intro
Im so glad to discover her
yes

Watching her on acid In The Park 1992 was awesome (Finsbury Park 6 June 1992 )
Blimey Polly, Love You

@2:34 - I think he tripped and couldn't get up.

Saw her at Lollapalooza 96 opening for Soundgarden.

Lead singer to everything else ratio: 1:10 respectively. Wasn’t P.J. Harvey supposed to be in this clip?
Ditto!

I know, I was thinking the same thing. they show more of the audience than anyone actually relevant in the clip
Yes
Camera needs to not ever leave PJ
Soo much denim!
HELP what is with this recording
PJ: (sings a super cool screechy high note)
cameraman: "okay, let's cut right to that sleeping man in the corner"
Do you have the recording of the song "Ecstasy" of PJ Harvey from that day? I would be really pleased if you could upload it. Thank you very much!
Did she really perform Ecstasy? Can't find it anywhere.
I thought Ecstasy was written later close to the recording of Rid of Me though
Disappointingly little camera focus on PJ.
спасибо за раритет!
Was it year 1992 ?
Man-size was released in 1993 with Rid of me 🤔
Yes, she performed Man-Size, Missed, Dry, Me Jane prior to the release of Rid of Me.
you just look like celia my sister
