- Lightning stones is a nickname for Septarian. Septarian nodules can be found in different parts of the world but these are from Michigan, United States. Big thanks to my pal Dutch who was kind enough to send these amazing minerals over for us to enjoy! Septarian stones have calcite veins running through them and some even react to UV light. I cut these on my 10" Hi Tech Diamond saw and polished them on my 8" Cabking (REZ wheels). I had a blast working on this project and I hope you enjoyed watching! Thanks!

🤣 as soon as I saw you I thought, “ what on earth did he do to his face?” The end has me in tears 😂 and that lightening stone that lit up pink had my gast flabbered !
Your "new look" gave me flashbacks of the 70s! 😂
😂 right on
@@AgateDad 😂😂😂
That’s a more appropriate response than mine. It gave me “blue oyster bar” instead 😂
I watch about twenty lapidary platforms, and you have the best shop by far.
Thanks!!
Ditto !❤
To a European eye they look like aerial views of little villages with winding streets that crisscross each other. Charming!
Love it!
I thought the same thing. Particularly the one light gray stone. So unusual!
What a beautiful picture. 😊
Exactly what they made me think of, too - could visualize all the little hedgerows of an English countryside, too!
You are hilarious Taylor. You always seem to come with something that is funny as well as providing great content for we rockaholics. Thanks.

Your production value is constantly going up! Keep up the good work 🥰
Thanks so much!
Thank you for once again letting us join you on a fascinating trip into Lapidary land! So fun!
Looks like you need to start planning the next display shelf. 😊 With these new additions, you're running out of space. Beautiful thunderstones
Ah man! The handlebar jokes!
Lightning stones are awesome. 😎
Yes they are!

Same!
Your so much fun to watch Taylor!! Those lightning stones are so awesome!! Love your videos.
And the uv light showing the pink and blue just blows me away! BEAUTIFUL
Ya!!! Brotha!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Love lightning stones!!
Great showmanship! Your shop is looking great❤
Beautiful work! I just collected a few of these rocks today in Fennville, MI and polished my first ever lightening stone on my 8 in Cabking. Turned out great. I understand what you mean about how fun they are to polish due to ther softness.
Bringing that hulkamania vibe to the lapidary arts!! About time ❤
Hey buddy. I really appreciate you getting this video out. I woke to it and I was motivated to get out to cut my lightning stones. I did smaller ones but they sure are fun.
Also thanks for the education. I don't know these rocks. I'm from the PNW on the West Coast. I just happen to buy a mystery bucket of rocks from Michigan and now working with them.
Always enjoy your vids 👍
2:33 is nice!
These lightning stones are beautiful cut and polished!
Absolutely!
Oh my goodness you are so much fun so silly I just love it! Wish I could have seen your wife’s face when she saw yours! lol😂 I thought you were rocking the new look! But anyways loved those lightening stones! They were very beautiful polished! Always so much fun watching your videos. Thank you for being you! 😁
My one son & his wife go rock hunting up farther then we are in Michigan and they go across the bridge. They picked up some lightening rocks but, not that big! The slices are so pretty.
The"HANDLE IT" right when we see your handle bar mustache was great timing lol
Honestly you rock it.
Edit: lol i just got to the end...womp womp 😅 🤣
OMGOODNESS, the UV light on that Septarian glowing pink, blew my mind!! 😮😮
That black light effect was amazing!!!! My nephews and I love watching your videos when they get home from school. They have created quite a collection of rocks on my porch.
I get to go hounding tomorrow and I’m so excited! Those are sweet stones!
Good luck!
10:25 is my favorite!
What an amazing video, Taylor. Besides the great cutting and lightning, the UV light show amazed me. Thanks for teaching us about Michigan septarian lightning stones in all your related videos. And thanks for getting muddy, buddy😊
Another really cool video! I really liked that one with the glowing pink calcite! That was almost as kickass as that moustache you were rocking! Should've kept it!
😂
Nagyon jól néznek ki.
🤣...love the shaving of only half of your mustache...would have been great to see your wife's face when she saw you 🤣🤣🤣
😂
I wonder why it showed up pink?
I liked the mustache😎
Thanks!
Too cool
Your having to much fun 😂great video!
Hi, Taylor! The stones are great. Though not so great as your moustaches.😅👍
Beautiful stones, beautiful cuts, and beautiful polish. Well done sir!
I love your sense of humor! I won't let my husband shave his mustache cause our grandkids would be scared of him if he did! Those lightning stones are so cool! Nice job on them! 😊
Omg that stash idk. Kinda has a pro wrestler from the 90s vibe. I don't want to like it but you're pulling it off! Lol love your vids bro keep up the awesome work
You just keep getting better!! I love it!!
Oh man, wish you did the UV light at the end to show all of them. The ones you did show were cool.
❤🎉😊I love lightning stones. I at first thought don't cut the big stone Boy I was wrong. Calcite has a fascinating pattern. Glow in the dark. awesome and it's pink.
Very beautiful and stunning lighting rocks. Hope you have a wonderful bless day and weekend. Thank you for sharing your video
The 3rd last piece you cut. When you open the stone & hold the two pieces together there is an animal face there, like a dog or wolf.
I absolutely cannot 'handle' it.
🤣🤣🤣
I bet it is nice to have your table at the right Hight.
Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!
I always panic when I see people throw down the rocks, and then I remember ... they're ROCKS 😭
Thanks from a septuagenarian for the septarian adventure. Will humidity affect the mud portion of these nodules? Do you give them some protective coating to help preserve them?
Rocking your new look and rocking your rocks, too. 🎉 Awesome video! ✨️
Can't wait to see the reveal of the double cut😊
It’s crazy
We a family of rock hounds can you tell me about your Lapis equipment❤
Marvelous
Gorgeous!!!
I love septarian! I have a rather large one that is cut in half. It's full of gold crystals. It's soooo beautiful. It's the only one I have with crystals in it. The rest are normal 😂
You definitely sound like you're enjoying yourself playing with your rocks.
It’s pretty fun!
Nice looking stones and way to stretch that 10" saw!! Did you hit those stones with all three wavelengths of UV, 254, 365, and 395? Those wavelengths get different reactions out of minerals. It's quite interesting.
Dude! Nice rocks AND nice stache!
😅😅😅 Gorgeous pieces ❤
Good morning everyone! Can't wait to see the results of these cuts!❤
Those were some great rocks🎉
Just think about it, when this rock was created it was created with you opening it in mind.
Absolutely ❤️
The ones with empty spots look like tangled roots.
🤩🤩😍😍 Ooooo! 😮 that's a very interesting stone you have there. 😮😍😍🤩🤩
Oh yes!
That las piece you showed almost looked like bat wings when you put them side by side.
The first stone you cut looks like a turtle shell.
the first one looked like a turtle shell inside I like that even though the rest was good too but for some reason I am drawn to the first one
Your 3rd cut is going to be wild polished!
Looks like petrified ant tunnels.
Soooo awesome!!!!
Glad you think so!
Those are truly beautiful
5:55 looks like a kidney dissection with renal artery and renal vena cave. Awesome 👏🏼
Your Collection........may we see your collection in a future episode?
Probably!
WOW ,what magnificent lightening Rocks ,nice big ones and dont they polish beautifully,Im in Australia and cant wait to get out to a beach to find awesome rocks . Loved watching your channel
Wow, never saw one of those before. Cool!!
I got the perfect one from you a couple of years ago! Calcite covered on both sides!❤
Glad you liked it!!
I thought your Hulk Hogan Stash was awesome. LOL!
I grew up in Minnesota. Winter is coming. You should at least get to cover your face with hair for the winter. 😂
It’ll grow back 😂
5:56 looks like a scarab beetle, crazy cool
They are abundant here. Ice job.
Nice!!
What is the best place in Michigan to find lightning stones?
Actually, really digging the 70s facial hair😂! Also, Septarian is one of my faves!
This video is wonderful.
That was fun !
So cool and pretty!
Great. Now another rock I have to hunt for. 😢
So, you don't use the canvas pad with 50,000 mesh diamond paste at the end of your machine to buff after final polish?
Nope! Just 3000
Fantastic ❤❤❤
I did not see you prep (spank) all of those stones like u said to do initially
😂
calcite reacts better with shortwave u.v
Reacted pretty sweet with a few pieces!
Beautiful! I have a big Septarian egg. Some of the thicker veins look like they have yellow quartz? And they are UV reactive. I’ve never known much about it, but it’s so cool!
I don't know if this would work on a lightning stone, but where I live, our rocks "grow a calcitey limestone crust on them, and if you hit it with a UV light, it reacts as usual, BUT, if you shut the UV light off, it glows green for just a few seconds in the pitch black! But usually I dump acid on that stuff so I can see the outside of the rock I brought home 😂
Hi Taylor. Do you put any of these in one of your stores?
Have you ever cut flower stones from Vancouver Island?
I couldn't 'handle' the high 'bar'...
Curious what your wife thinks about it 😁
How do I find your store and what is the long white sharpening tool you use to sharpen your blades. One more question: How long do the blades usually last cutting rocks?
You have 2 cab kings. What is your second one? I assume you have 6 different wheels in it?
Ones just smaller
♥
Noooo 😱 don't shave your beautiful tash off Taylor ❤
🤣 I had no choice
You are too funny. Stones are beautiful
