Beverly Hills Chihuahua is a 2008 American family comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the first in the Beverly Hills Chihuahua series. It is directed by Raja Gosnell and was released on October 3, 2008. The films stars Piper Perabo, Jamie Lee Curtis and Manolo Cardona as the human leads and Drew Barrymore, George Lopez and Andy Garcia in voice-over roles.

I remember one episode was about the Deadly Sins with my friends and laughed so hard when the Elephant Seal was known as the most greedy of animals. I laughed because I was comparing them to the Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist which added to the humor.

Reality Subtext (from TV Tropes): There exists a theory that the only reason this movie was successful, both financially and with audiences, was the fact that it's theatrical run coincided with the 2008 economic recession, and that audiences at the time just wanted to see a silly, feel-good movie to take their minds off of it.

Okay so Dog fights. In dog fights they have something called a "Bait Dog" this is an animal to be torn to pieces to make the other dogs mad or "blood thirsty"

For Chole in the dog fight: they use small dogs as ‘bait dogs’. The bigger dogs are taught to kill any other dog, so the little ones are used as an easy kill to keep their ‘attack’ up. There’s cases everywhere of people’s dogs getting kidnapped just to be literally ripped apart

Small explanation, although I’m sure the critic knows. They picked up Chloe and threw her into the dog fights because she’s a bait dog, a dog small and weak that’s used as fodder as an opening example in most dog fighting rinks. It’s to give El Diablo the taste of bloodshed and get ready to kill the next dog after her.

Can you please take a look at ROAR starring Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith, which is famous for 70 people getting injured while working with big cats. I know I've suggested this so many times, but the plot and story is just abysmal and I'd love to see you review it!

I know i saw this in theaters when i was a kid.... but all this time i remembered George Lopez’s character being the main character... how did i completely forget about chloe? This movie really is as forgettable as they set up in the beginning 🤣
The dog's losing his sense of smell would be psychosomatic, and is your brain's way of a coping mechanism after enduring heavy emotional/mental trauma. There was a King of the Hill episode where Hank lost his sight temporarily due to seeing his mom in an uncomfortable way.
I was eight when this movie came out and even I thought it was stupid.
I knew it was stupid and inauthentic as a 10 year old.

Nathaniel Foga I did. This is the superior film of the trilogy.
I used to be obsessed with this movie franchise when I was younger although I was obsessed with any movie with dogs, it always annoyed me when I was smaller that small dogs were always a protagonist and the big dogs were always the antagonists

I remember watching the trailer to this movie in theatres and when it was done, I actually shouted, "What the hell did I just watch?!"
I saw the trailer before Prince Caspian. And I was like "so, that was a thing..."

Lesson Met With the Lion King, they were trying to make it something it was not, which caused him to hate it so much.
He said in his Disneycember review of Lion King that National Geographic animals show more emotion.

Every time I saw Jamie Lee Curtis on screen, I half expected Michael Myers to show up in the background.
This is one of these kinds of movies and movies like these gets forgotten fast and it barely made a dent on my memory. I never watched it but I saw teasers of it and a box cover.

@@kimifw58 weren't they supposed to just copyright the title "Day of the dead" or something so that other movies won't have the same name? That's why its called Coco because it was originally titled Day of the Dead or something. But copyrighting a word especially on a holiday name from a different country still sucks
Jesus, I remember watching this in theaters when it came out. There where 2 girls sitting next to me that kept saying "oh no" everytime the dog got captured, or when the evil dog made a move. They where like 12. It was truly something.
Also, I'm a little upset you didn't talk about that stupid scene where the dog throws away her only boot off the train because some brat said that it's weird to wear boots when her city isn't filthy. That was legit the only part I remember from this movie, aside from the dog getting snatched and the girls going "oh no".

I find this movie incredibly unforgettable. I mean, at some point I remember every movie I've seen, even the most elusive ones. Stuart Little, Kelly's Heroes, Cat's & Dogs, The Road to El Dorado, The Great Mouse Detective, The Andromeda Effect, We're Back A Dinosaur's Tale, and just about every movie you forgot or never saw. But this movie, even if I am reminded of its existence the day before, the next day it goes one ear out the other. Beverly Hills Chihuahua has 0% memorabilia and replay value. I rest my case.
