Right here in Dubai, a home rental fraud has left home owners and tenants, poorer by 30 million dirhams in total, which works out to over a massive 60 crore rupees...if i counted it correctly with my questionable math skills, that is!
Well, it so happened that Homeowners, who had signed contracts with one fraudulent company called 'Evernest Holiday Homes Rental LLC' have now come forward saying that not only have they lost tens of thousands of dirhams in annual rent income, but have also been denied access to their own homes.
The haalat of the tenants or the bhadutris, is not any better, as they had separate contracts with the fraud company
Now, they are living in constant fear of eviction. Many already had utility services disconnected.
But how did this badmash company spin such a big ghapla, involving the rich and mighty of Dubai, who had homes in posh places of the city?

Me my family almost fell in the trap of a builder and we were about to give him the booking amount, but his sudden change in behaviour made us rethink and investigate more. Ultimately got to know that the property was under litigation.

people need to understand, nothing comes cheap, applies every part of the world, if something's really cheap then there's something fishy.
Many bad things happen in Dubai.
This is not the first time. Exactly simialr scams have happened number of times in Dubaibin last decade or so.
This scam reminded me of Bipasha basus Paisa double scheme in Hera pheri 2 .. though this was a real estate matter..

Greed is main cause. Why did owners of apartment not realize that nobody pays 1000 dirham more than market price, so why was this agent paying 20,000 to 25,000 more.
Such people are fly by night operators, so owners under greed did not check if company operated over 5 years, a benchmark I use.
Same with tenants who under greed to save huge discount to pay full years advance rent. They should have known that anything sugar coated cheap offer could lead to trouble. They never check company history before paying.
In rental agreement, must ensure the rent cheque never to be paid in agent name but on the name of landlord whose title deeds must be checked on Online portal of land department, which shows a particular property owner.
Unfortunately scammers are everywhere and one should be careful globally.
I am sure one day interpol will catch the thieves.

@@kajalkhatri1034 if one cannot afford upscale property rental, then is it not prudent to find an abode in a place that is cheaper. How can you expect to get a pad in Bandra at Andheri rates. It does not mean Andheri houses are filthy or run down. Everywhere in the world, one has to pay for the eco system they want to live in, and trust me, even apart from rent, even general cost of living will be higher. A maintenance tech would charge me twice in a tower compared to a four storyed building in the same neighbourhood. That is called market value based on affordability. Welcome to free market economy

Restaurant in Taj Hotel will charge you 100 times for the same chai you order from a Udipi hotel. A movie actor gets paid several multiples than a factory manager with much lesser work load and even a humongous pampering. This is the real world and it is not going to conform to or even bother about your ethic ratings. I have lived in Bandra and know differential rental rates in Pali Hill or 8th Road or in band stand. They are not same. By the by, the rental returns in Mumbai is one of the lowest around 2 % to max 3%, as against 10% in Dubai, 7% in New York or 6% in Chennai

Since 2020 so many employees went off work.. Scam to the tune unimaginable.
What shocked me was that i was of the opinion that Scam or cheating and stuff like that in UAE is impossible with the amount of strictness and monitoring in every department that have..I really wonder how this happened and he managed to flee back to India claiming innocence..
