A part 2 would be great as a lot of information about the black goo were released months ago. The engineer who died in the first scene of the movie didn't drink the black goo but rather the blood of their lord. The black goo we see later in the movie was the result of the engineers trying to recreate it.

Heracles96 in early versions of thé script. Basically the engineer race grew advanced but became sterile. One day they found a parasite which infect one of them and this infected engineer gives life to an entity (this explains all of the murals in Prometheus). So there is a way to create life for them, by drinking the blood of this creature (opening scène of Prometheus, by the way you will notice the goo is gold-ish). But the blood is in limited quantity, and they tried to synthesize it, but they only managed to do the black goo, which has NOT the same effect, at all!
@@Grifffool Grifffool Im gonna go out on a limb and say a good portion of what happened with the black goo was purely symbolic and wish fulfillment. For instance them recreating the black goo without the existence of the black goo, which is a fundamental contradiction.
As for the goo being gold and that being the one that gave them life. Well I havent seen that scene. But there are a couple ways I think of this.
One the black goo is the black goo, no other kind. Could have been lighting but if it wasnt which I must assume it wasnt as gold is a hard thing to confuse reflective light for, then it wasnt the real black goo. Or it was and it was onpy behaving in a way to appease the natives, lowering their guard in order to get them to ingest it.
As for the Engineers getting do advanced that they couldnt give birth sounds insane. To me they were obsessed with perfection and lost the ability to reproduce with constant alterations to their body chemically, physiologically in an attempt to be perfect.
The goo being an intelligent entity took advantage of the situation.
They didnt recreate the black goo, the black goo simply revealed its true nature when it had grown in quantity sufficiently. With enough black goo mass, hives for xenomorphs and other black creatures could be produced.

Can you do the movie trilogy "The Cube". I remember it was an awesome and original horror film, yet It could use an explanation. Also the first film at least is on Netflix.
Oh yeah! I love the Cube trilogy. If you do the Cube trilogy, FilmComicsExplained, can you also do an accurate timeline of the movies? I'm curious if the third (prequel) movie is really the prequel that happened before the first movie or it was a separate Cube altogether. The Cube trilogy is one of the few most realistically horrifying Government conspiracy theory horror movies to date too.
Are you talking about “Cube” or “The Cube?” Cube was the one with all the traps in the huge constantly moving rooms.

I thought the best part was the lesson on how to run away from falling spaceships.
David, and the other synthetics, quickly became my favorite aspect of the movies. We can only assume there are more than just David and Walter. It's just so interesting, David is the perfect counter to the black goo, being inorganic. That gives him dominion over it like no one else can, I hope we get much more of David's story, as it seems he is now the main villain.

it is real, the black goo has the ability to clone any life form... just as in the movie and believe to be intelligent by itself, there was even a fight there among some countries to get it back then, we dont know who has it now. But it does exists, this movies are made to make the people more... "open" to thsi things

Idk if anybody else know the alternate version of Prometheus however, in the alternate Version of the Fifield attack scene he looked much more Xenomorph like and is much more resilent. I prefer that Version.

2:14 I think it's important to note as well that David didn't do this without Charlie's permission. David asks him how far he'd go to discover the truth, and Charlie couldn't have realized just how far David meant when responding that he'd do whatever it takes. Now, do I think that David would've just given him the uncontaminated glass and walked away to try to infect Elizabeth, the captain, or Vickers if Holloway had said literally anything else? Maybe. I don't think so, but we'll probably never know. I like to think it gave David a feeling of poetic vindication, thinking "Well, you asked for it."

That chemical number in the Science Direct Pharmacology guide puts the, "Black Goo," in the, "extremely dangerous polymorph," subcategory lol on Earth it's classified as a, "polymorph." Defining; "In a strict sense, polymorphs have to retain the same chemical composition and therefore, solvates or substrates within a solvent with poor solubility at low or high temperature yields pharmaceutically relevant polymorphs."
It's almost as if the film's creators knew their shit when it came to the established terrestrial chemistry around which the, "Black Goo," substance was based.

Thanks for the video. I honestly loved this addition to the franchise. People hated this when it came out, but I love how it explores all the what if involved in the Xenomorphs.
Great movie but I hated how the aliens were almost designed by an android.
I wanted (or thought of them as ancient) and deadly. Or how maybe the engineers used the black goo or took it from the alien species.
Like a royal jelly or bi product from the aliens. They took it an used it as a bio weapon from the aliens natural lethality.
@@jammin1881 honestly that would have been way, way better than the David creation of the xenomorph. Like there was so much cool stuff they had on those murals in prometheus in the black goo room that it they should have gone with that.

I can’t stand the idea that the alien species was a test tube creation. I wanted the black goo to be something the aliens produced as how the engineers abused it or mutated it to seed / destroy life.
Even the beginning in Prometheus and the engineers waking up to slaughter everyone was a bit backward. Or the Rock dumb scientist goading a space snake.
I would have love to have had some input into the films. I have some cool ideas that would have dwarfed the Android creating the alien species.

What is not clear is why some times black goo is transforming, and sometimes it kills straight way?
Two things! The Black Goo was not a weapon and at the beginning of Prometheus that's not Black Goo, if you look at it closely it's actually kinda golden in look. Later it was explained that the race of engineers had a long time ago lost their ability to reproduce. That is until one of their kind found a creature and from that creature blood his own blood became different. He became known as the Chosen. And through his blood the race of engineers could seed worlds with life like we see at the beginning of the movie. But when the Chosen died, the amount of blood left was all the Engineers had to try and seed enough worlds to see if in one of them a new variation of their species would evolve that could fix their genetic defect of not being able to procreate.
All of their attempts failed but one! Earth! And while they came to Earth they realized that the humans species although similar genetically it was a species that was too aggressive. So they tried to guide humanity.
Their last attempt was none other than Jesus Christ. Yeah, that's right! They took a young boy to one of their worlds and taught him about many things. And then sent him back to see how humanity would react. Christ final fate made the Engineers give up on humanity.
But at the time the Engineers no longer had enough of the Chosen blood to seed more worlds, so they took what little they had and tried to recreate it using their technology.
That's where the Black Goo came from! It was a mutated imperfect variation of the blood of the Chosen. The Chosen was the one depicted in that huge head where the Black Goo vases were. And the image of the Deacon in a cross like shape that was to represent the creature that gave the Chosen his blood unique capabilities.
The Black Goo was in essence a form of biological nanotechnology and it was programmable. That's how David tweaked it to create the Neomorphs and the Xenomorphs.
So the story is way more complex than most people know really because all of this material is not in the movies. Some of it is in the extra scenes of Covenant Bluray and the story of the Chosen is in another source.
So basically what could've been two awesome movies ended up ruining everything really because Riddley Scott chose to take the best parts out of the movies.

Somewhat . It also ruins a lot of the alien myths and drama.
I wanted the aliens to be ANCIENT and a dangerous threat in the alien universe.
I was hoping the black goo was a product of the actual aliens and similar to the queens royal jelly. A product found by the engineers and modified to create or exterminate life.
