Why? The Netherlands may win against Austria, but still, Austria has much better stats this years than the Netherlands. Most of their recent matches were ridiculously strong, e.g. including a 6:1 win over Turkey and a 2:0 win over Germany. Plus they also had a higher win against Poland than the Netherlands and tbh they also performed better against France than the Netherlands did. (They only lost due to an own goal that was, again, due to a massive referee mistake, but they had the only big chance of the match and more ball possession than France, while Netherlands had only 37%.) Netherlands is an amaaazing team and it's absolutely possible that they win against Austria, but you're obviosuly underestimating Austria

The handball was ridiculous - in an ideal world I think it is a handball but based on the general character of decisions, where far more blatant handballs are not given, it shouldn't have been classed as a foul in comparison
Don't forget about the 100% penalty we didn't get in the 10th minute of game 1. Doku through and defender lies on the ball with his arm and no penalty given, that was disgusting.

Germany only need a draw, Switzerland are through but could chase top, so I'll go 1-1 there. Hungary can't not win one game right? I'll go 3-1 Hungary but it could be a 4 or 5-2 cuz Hungary will be chasing that goal difference.
Albania will give all they've got and Spain are without rodri, but I just don't see Spain risking not getting top, could be another very high scoring one but I'll go 1-1. In fact, all teams other than Ukraine will go through with a draw which might make this a lot more boring than people expect. Hell, it can even go down to fair play record between Romania and Belgium if they match our result (W, D, L) but score one more goal (so a 2-1 instead of 1-0 etc) which can even be the decider between qualification or not if we both narrowly lose assuming that 3p on 0 GD will be enough. In general I think that these are probably the weirdest matches to predict (and even more so to pick a fantasy team for) as you don’t know how hard are the already qualified teams going to go for it (will they take a possible 3rd or 2nd? This can mess up many people s group stage predictions too), same for Poland at the opposite side of the spectrum and then you have all the teams scrapping to qualify that have proven they deserve a spot at the tournament. Then you have the ongoing 3rd place table knowledge influencing stuff which might be important for groups E and F especially as they will know what happened everywhere else by then. I don’t know but I just hope we qualify on Thursday. I don’t even care who we get in the RO16, we ve already defeated expectations if we go through, hell, we ve defeated them by the Ukraine win alone. Come on Romania!!🇷🇴 🇷🇴🇷🇴🇷🇴
Edit:Addendum to the group E talk, someone else pointed out to me a pretty weird way the tiebreakers work. So, normally H2H is first but it doesn’t apply in group E as everyone is tied or will be separated by points, right? Except that s not the case if both matches have a winner. In fact, if we win our match, Ukraine takes at least 3rd regardless because they beat Slovakia. If Ukraine and Slovakia win we will be 4th below Belgium but if Belgium wins we will be over Ukraine. Are you dizzy yet? I kinda am and I don’t have to follow the live matches too at this point…
What should be score to Ukraine to qualify?
@@kavvish7637 Depends. If you win you are obviously through, either 1st or second if we win too (because we beat you H2H and we d both be on 6p). If you draw you will be top 3 and likely through except if Romania vs Slovakia is a draw as well, otherwise you will be 4th and out (because H2H leads to a draw so GD is used and you have the worst one). However, with a loss you can still technically qualify if we beat Slovakia as you would be 3rd over them, however you would still only have 3p with a bad GD (minimum -3 if you lose by only one goal) which might not be enough to qualify as a 3rd place. We will know more about the 3rd place table by Wednesday but basically only a win qualifies you for sure, a draw requires that someone wins the Slovakia-Romania game as well and of course that 4p on -2 GD is enough for a 3rd place but it usually is, no team with 4 points has failed to make it through since the 24 team system was introduced. But if Slovakia and us draw you will be the first so you kinda have to go for the win imo

If Slovakia beats Romania then Ukraine has to draw against belgium
If Romania Slovakia match ends in draw then Ukraine has to win against belgium

@@kavvish7637 the thing is that not all 3rd places qualify, just 4 of the 6. We will know what exactly this means as the other matches play out but based on experience 3 points and around 0/-1 goal difference was the cutoff last time. So:
If Romania beats Slovakia you are right you will be at least 3rd even if you lose but 3 points and -3 or worse goal difference might not be enough as a 3rd place side because goal difference is the first tiebreaker on the overall 3rd place table where all the teams that finish 3rd in every group are compared.
If Slovakia wins you need the draw to be 3rd and that will most likely be enough for qualification as you would have 4 points.
If us and Slovakia draw the win is needed, yes as even a draw will still put you 4th.
I say you guys have to get a draw to secure 4 points either way to make sure but yes, getting 3rd is easier with Romania winning, doesn’t necessarily mean you are through. You might be helped by the current Scotland 🏴 vs Hungary 🇭🇺 game as if the draw there stays their 3rd place team will only have 2 points so that is one team you will for sure be above in the 3rd place table and you only need to be above another one to qualify.
Edit:Nope, Hungary scored late on to win so they are 3rd in group A with 3 points and -3 goal difference. If you lose you will at least be equal with them (if it s a one goal loss, if not they are on top of you), it then goes to goals scored (equal as it stands), number of wins (both 1), then fair play ranking based on cards shown to each teams players, the less the better (transfermarkt says you are 2 points/yellow cards better than Hungary there and one of the lowest overall at just 2 but idk if the values include today s games). Again, we will know more as the other groups are played as their 3rd spots matter too
