Tha fact with this big teams is that we mostly know how they play and their players. If Romania prepare the game well they could do a surprise.
No they aren't. Netherlands defence is worse than Belgium and their player aren't very strong compared to Belgium. The most dangerous are Gakpo and Xavi Simmons. If Romania can prevent these guys from playing their way, they have big chances. And also, attention must be paid to Weghorst, who will enter after 70th min probably.

I am from Romania, but I really don’t understand the disrespect of the Netherlands. Of course I want my team to advance, but I can’t be that crazy to put Romania above Netherlands as favorites to the qualification! Just because Netherlands lost one game vs Austria everyone suddenly start attacking them and say they are a weaker team. In my own opinion they play very good against Poland (they could have score at least 4-5 times more) and they made a tactical draw with France in order to both qualify. So they approach the game vs Austria already being qualified! Also I may suspect Netherlands wanted more to lose this game when they saw that spot 3 have a easier patch to the semifinals. Spot 2 they will have meet Turkey 🇹🇷. On paper more difficult team than Romania. So I think you will see the real Netherlands team vs Romania. I hope I am wrong and Romania can stop somehow the mechanical orange but the chances are like 30%. We have played against Belgium which is a very similar team to Netherlands in terms of quality and speed. And we lose badly to them, we had no chance in the first half. And the score should have been higher than 0-2 if we didn’t have an amazing goalkeeper (nita) who saved like 3-4 goals! Hope the best will go further!
There are two teams to look at very closely, Switzerland and Austria. Imo, the latest are going to make it to the semifinals and Switzerland will outplay Italy and be a really hard contender for England. So, Germany(locals), Portugal (poor level of their subs but France are being very dull, not to mention Belgium), Austria and Switzerland is my bet.
For me it's kinda sad that we will watch (probably) Spain vs Germany in the quarterfinals while it could be an excellent final because both teams have a perfect run in the whole tournament

Their only wins in qualifying came against Cyprus, they won both playoff games on penalties, and the win against Portugal was their first proper win of the whole tournament, they've played well but they really aren't that good, I wouldn't fancy them against any of the group winners

@@Vlad-yi6oo As far as I know, Romania lost to Belgium 2-0, so 1 goal wouldn't make the difference. For the penalty, they judged the second contact, but they should have judged the first, which was decisive. The referees in this tournament are the biggest tragedies ever.
@@apomalachel8787 with Belgium Romania could have penalty at 1-0 not at 2-0 and the game would have been changed. With Slovackia the first contact did not make the attacking player to fall only the second one in the box. This is how they judge fouls.
On the right tree pretty much everyone can get far because lets be honest the (on paper) strongest teams (Italy, Netherlands and England) did not impress anyone so far.
To be fair Italy did technically barely squeeze by Albania as that’s what the score line says, but Italy truthfully dominated that game. They completely disappeared against Spain but then played a lot better against Croatia. So we’ll see what version of Italy we get against Switzerland

My prediction for UEFA Euro 2024: *Round of 16 -- RO16* *Spain 3*-2 Georgia | it will be a close match due to both the teams playing eachother recently in the qualifiers group stage and i think this match will be similar to Leverkusen v Qarabag in the UEL RO16 when Leverkusen slammed Qarabag 5-1 but went on to later struggle to win against them on both legs being 2-2 and 3-2. I am Greek, my country didn't qualify so I don't really support anyone. I prefer the national teams that are indeed national, but that's it. From what I have seen Austria is the favourite to win the whole tournament. Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium and England have teams with good players, but the way they play make it seem that they just want the job to be done. At the other hand teams like Austria, Turkey, Roumania and Georgia gave everything they had making the games more exciting to watch. What I noticed this tournament must be the euro that pretty much anyone could win it. There is no one that seems to be the best team in Europe, unlike previous tournaments that always dominated by France Italy, Germany and Spain.

I think you will be wrong with your Romania Netherlands prediction. In my opinion Netherlands received the wake up call against Austria and with all their quality and still to come new players are ready now to defeat Romania.
Same as a Romanian I don't believe the team will even want to qualify for quarter finals. In their recent interviews they seem content to have reached round 16. Horrible mentality.

@@Tallborn5true! The original objective of Romania was to exit the groups. They have no real plans to go further as you can see from their statements in the last 2 days. It’s quite bad but on another side I think they realize Romania cannot match right now teams like Netherlands. Belgium is very similar to them and they just roll over us very easily. We can compete at the moment only with teams that are closer to us in terms of value but not with the teams from class A (France, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, England etc.) and is not bad. We have evolved a lot. I hope this will motivated them to approach the qualifications to the World Cup and try to go there. It will be amazing to return there and I think if we somehow manage that, we will for sure advance from the groups there too, maybe even pass the 16th, because Word Cup is generally easier than EURO.

But Netherlands are favorite, they have a better team overall. But accidents in football can happen. Bro did you even see portugal game? They played with b team. Literally only the goalkeeper and ronaldo started from the starting 11. The rest 9 players were the bench players. Also, and to let everyone play, we changed the tactics and played a 3 5 2 1 which we didn't did before. Was just a game for the young kids to touch the ball amd participate in the euros. Still we dominated the game 100%. The only problem was António Silva who gave two goals aways ( one giant defense error and then he made a fault that was a penalty ). So basically we dominated the game playing with the next gen and b team players. We were just unlucky our defender had 2 giant mistakes. They still shouldn't be losing against the lowest ranked team in the tournament, even with their B team. And, losing doesn't do a team's confidence any good. It, also, shows a lack of squad depth.

9:18 I’m Dutch and don’t feel confident going into the knockout stages. That Austria game especially was just atrocious (though I must also give credit to the Austrians). There have been decent moments, but overall… it’s not been great. I could definitely see a relative underdog beating us, but I’m of course hoping that won’t be the case.

Two things can happen for us. We either don't recover and Romania blow us out. Or we do recover and win it. I think we're gonna win because the match against Austria was one of our worst ever. It simply cannot become worse than that. Austria are much better than Romania and narrowly losing to them in your worst match means you can beat Romania.
even as a romanian, i think the netherlands are just better, it's an improvement for our national team to concede only 2 goals against Belgium, a side ranked 3rd in the world by fifa, and the thing that makes it better is that we had numerous chances to equalize. ive seen this recurring problem in our national team: we lack clinical finishes. yes, we did defeat ukraine 3-0, but against slovakia and belgium, kosovo and israel, we missed quite a few chances. another thing that we lack is a proper mindset, as we usually get scared of teams like the netherlands, we are just too "mortified" and we dont press them, thats the exact mistake we made against belgium. honestly, i think it's gonna be a 2-1 victory for the netherlands
As Romanian I agree! We lost with Belgium a team that is very similar to Netherlands. And they could have scored at least 5-6 times more if it wasn’t for our amazing goalkeeper! We have no chances against Netherlands. 2-0 or 3-1 Netherlands. Right now Romania is unable to play with teams from top 10. I saw it very clearly with Belgium.

Tbh France generally tends to score one goal and then just starts controlling the match without really caring too much about getting a higher score. It's Deschamps style of play, win with as minimal effort as possible to not waste any energy. So it's a pretty reasonable prediction.

Yes, we're much poorer and directionless without De Jong and Koopmeiners on the midfield, but there have been numerous times before we came back from a dire situation, showing resilience. I am from Romania, but I really don’t understand the disrespect of the Netherlands. Of course I want my team to advance, but I can’t be that crazy to put Romania above Netherlands as favorites to the qualification! Just because Netherlands lost one game vs Austria everyone suddenly start attacking them and say they are a weaker team. In my own opinion they play very good against Poland (they could have score at least 4-5 times more) and they made a tactical draw with France in order to both qualify. So they approach the game vs Austria already being qualified! Also I may suspect Netherlands wanted more to lose this game when they saw that spot 3 have a easier patch to the semifinals. My prediction for UEFA Euro 2024:
*Round of 16 -- RO16*
*Spain 3*-2 Georgia | it will be a close match due to both the teams playing eachother recently in the qualifiers group stage and i think this match will be similar to Leverkusen v Qarabag in the UEL RO16 when Leverkusen slammed Qarabag 5-1 but went on to later struggle to win against them on both legs being 2-2 and 3-2. I think in this case it will be similar with Georgia scoring first before Spain come back and win it, it will be closer than many think

Fenerbahce 6-1 Nordsjaelland. in the other match in the same Europa League group stage, fenerbahce won vs Nordsjaelland also by a 2-goal difference beating the danish team 3-1. I think the same will happen with Turkiye winning 4-2 or 3-2 but with the pattern i've stuck with a 2-goal difference. for all anyone knows it could just be a 2-0 win for turkiye. austria are also heavily overrated at the moment and with too much pressure they might just fall unexpectedly. austria also have never went to the quarter-finals of the euros and yes everything has a first(most of the time) but i dont see it happening in this euros but i could be wrong

I am Greek, my country didn't qualify so I don't really support anyone. I prefer the national teams that are indeed national, but that's it. From what I have seen Austria is the favourite to win the whole tournament. Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium and England have teams with good players, but the way they play make it seem that they just want the job to be done. At the other hand teams like Austria, Turkey, Roumania and Georgia gave everything they had making the games more exciting to watch. What I noticed this tournament must be the euro that pretty much anyone could win it. There is no one that seems to be the best team in Europe, unlike previous tournaments that always dominated by France Italy, Germany and Spain.

It’s quite bad but on another side I think they realize Romania cannot match right now teams like Netherlands. Belgium is very similar to them and they just roll over us very easily. We can compete at the moment only with teams that are closer to us in terms of value but not with the teams from class A (France, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, England etc.) and is not bad. We have evolved a lot. I hope this will motivated them to approach the qualifications to the World Cup and try to go there. It will be amazing to return there and I think if we somehow manage that, we will for sure advance from the groups there too, maybe even pass the 16th, because Word Cup is generally easier than EURO.

These two relatively disappointing sides will have to step up their game. I think a 1-0 is in the air. And it’s pretty even as to which team could claim it. But I’m going for the relative upset of Belgium advancing. France would fall again in the round of 16. I do think it’s possible for France in particular to start getting their act together and look strong again and be considered a favourite again. It’s a tough game to call.

As a Dutchman, we must not underestimate Romania. They’ve impressively topped the group. And against Ukraine especially, they were good. And the Netherlands have had rough patches, to say the least. Especially against Austria (horrendous performance). I wouldn’t be surprised if Romania score pretty early on and we get frustrated. But I do feel like Weghorst magic might be in the air, taking it to extra time, where we score a second. It won’t be convincing, though.

I’m predicting at least one match to be a goal fest. It might be this one. Both sides have scored a lot. Both sides have conceded in every match day thus far. Austria have topped the group (which I begrudgingly admire [they were so much better than us]). Even their 1-0 loss against France was a really good showing overall. And Turkey have been fun to watch, if you gloss over the Portugal game for a second. Both teams seem to play really passionately. I just think Austria are better and more consistent. They’ll advance.

I’m going for the same prediction as you. Peak Southgate ball. They’ll score. And be unimpressive throughout the game, but they won’t give Slovakia enough leeway. I could possibly see England having to chase after a small deficit after an early Slovakia goal, like Belgium had to. Or maybe it’ll get 2-0 for England even. I’m not expecting any major surge in their drive to attack, though.

This will be a close and exciting one. I just think this isn’t 2021 Italy anymore. And they won’t have what it takes to maintain their crown. In no match have they really convinced me, apart from Donnarumma. And Switzerland have been really solid. And they might beat a stronger side on paper again in the Euros round of 16. Maybe it’s going to extra time. Maybe even penalties. In the latter case, Donnarumma Vs Sommer would be a cool GK showdown. I just think Switzerland have been more convincing (but they do generally have lower expectations than Italy).

Bro did you even see portugal game? They played with b team. Literally only the goalkeeper and ronaldo started from the starting 11. The rest 9 players were the bench players. Also, and to let everyone play, we changed the tactics and played a 3 5 2 1 which we didn't did before. Was just a game for the young kids to touch the ball amd participate in the euros. Still we dominated the game 100%. The only problem was António Silva who gave two goals aways ( one giant defense error and then he made a fault that was a penalty ). So basically we dominated the game playing with the next gen and b team players. We were just unlucky our defender had 2 giant mistakes. If we were to play our starting 11 georgia would get demolished

Two things can happen for us. We either don't recover and Romania blow us out. Or we do recover and win it. I think we're gonna win because the match against Austria was one of our worst ever. It simply cannot become worse than that. Austria are much better than Romania and narrowly losing to them in your worst match means you can beat Romania.
even as a romanian, i think the netherlands are just better, it's an improvement for our national team to concede only 2 goals against Belgium, a side ranked 3rd in the world by fifa, and the thing that makes it better is that we had numerous chances to equalize. ive seen this recurring problem in our national team: we lack clinical finishes. yes, we did defeat ukraine 3-0, but against slovakia and belgium, kosovo and israel, we missed quite a few chances. another thing that we lack is a proper mindset, as we usually get scared of teams like the netherlands, we are just too "mortified" and we dont press them, thats the exact mistake we made against belgium. honestly, i think it's gonna be a 2-1 victory for the netherlands

Tbh France generally tends to score one goal and then just starts controlling the match without really caring too much about getting a higher score. It's Deschamps style of play, win with as minimal effort as possible to not waste any energy. So it's a pretty reasonable prediction.

Good, good... The Netherlands does best when it starts being underestimated, anyways. Yes, we're much poorer and directionless without De Jong and Koopmeiners on the midfield, but there have been numerous times before we came back from a dire situation, showing resilience. People now say we're cocky, but the players seemed to have come to terms with their underperformance, showing humility and respect for the opponent. If anything, I've seen nothing but hubris on the side that would want to see us lose.
