- The Evolution of Koenigsegg from 1996 to 2024.
The company was founded in 1994 in Sweden by Christian von Koenigsegg, with the intention of producing a "world-class" sports car. Many years of development and testing led to the CC8S, the company's first street-legal production car which was introduced in 2002.
In 2006, Koenigsegg began production of the CCX, which uses an engine created in-house specifically for the car. The goal was to develop a car homologated for use worldwide, particularly the United States whose strict regulations did not allow the import of earlier Koenigsegg models.
In March 2009, the CCXR was listed by Forbes as one of "the world's most beautiful cars".
In December 2010, the Agera won the BBC Top Gear Hypercar of the Year Award.
Apart from developing, manufacturing and selling the Koenigsegg line of sports cars, Koenigsegg is also involved in "green technology" development programmes beginning with the CCXR ("Flower Power") flex-fuel sports car and continuing through the present with the Jesko. Koenigsegg is also active in development programs of plug-in electric cars' systems and next-generation reciprocating engine technologies. Koenigsegg has also developed a camless piston engine which found its first application in the Gemera, which was introduced in 2020.
Koenigsegg develops and produces most of the main systems, subsystems and components needed for their cars in-house instead of relying on subcontractors.
In January 2019, Koenigsegg sold a 20% stake in the company to Swedish electric car manufacturer (Egstrand & Lundgren), National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), for US$171 million.
Koenigsegg has since then bought the stake back from NEVS and owns 100% of the company again.

Yeah no shit it uses Turbos instead of the naturally aspirated engine of the McLaren F1. But the F1 used ground effect and fan systems which make it special

Crazy how the one:1 is a track focused car and still can do 273mph
Jesko attack is track focused and goes 300 mph
Bugatti bolide is track-focused and goes 311 mph
The jesko attack is still road legal, and the jesko absolut goes 330 mph (estimated) but there are still going to be no tires that can withstand that speed
the fact that they can be compareable to Bugattis with RWD is beyond impressive.

awd doesn't necessarily make the car faster, it only really helps off launch, otherwise it's just heavier
Awd does very little to make a car faster. It instead helps the car launch and drive off-road.
Being rwd is an advantage compared to awd if you're looking for top speed

On February 28, 2005, the Koenigsegg CCR used a modified, Rotrex supercharged Ford Modular 4-valve DOHC 4.6L V8, which produced 806 hp (601 kW), to achieve a top speed of 241 mph (388 km/h). Claiming the world record and title of World's Fastest Production Car, that was previously held by the McLaren F1 of 240.1 mph (386.4 km/h) recorded on March 31, 1998.
Dauer 962 from 1993 had a top speed of 251,4 mph measured in 1998.
But let's give credit to the McLaren F1, it miraculously achieved 240 mph from just a 618 hp NATURALLY ASPIRATED V12. No other NA car comes even close. And every car faster than it uses turbocharged engines
In May 2003, there was a CCR in Texas caught doing 242mph, fastest speeding ticket ever recorded.

As much as I love the Agera r it’s top speed isn’t 275 mph. In theory it could hit 270 but in reality the fastest it’s ever gone is 260 mph however according to gtboard it’s limited to 250 mph😭.the jesko and the absolute haven’t been tested yet so the top speed is unknown til they do it

Just for some extra information: The Jesko Attack and Jesko absolute top speeds have not been tested, they are theoretical. as for the CC850, i dought that's even theoretical, sounds made up, it really does not have the specs to go that fast imo
