How to Export Images for Web in Lightroom you might ask? Well, let's talk about that!
Today we are talking about exporting JPEG files to host on your website or other social media sites! I see many photographers exporting files that are WAY TOO LARGE for their website. This can cause extremely long load times and even cause some people to click away from your website.
Today's video shows how to overcome that problem!

I am just curious.. How do you upload photos which are 2000 k to web? Wouldn't it be much better to decrease the size of the photos to speed up the website?

The update for lightroom has changed this method. Do you have a more up to date version or help for me?
Is this still the settings you would use in 2022?
I had to review it to make sure, but yes, these are still the settings I use! If I am exporting for IG however I will crop my horizontal images to a 16:9 aspect ration and I will export vertical images with a 4x5 crop.
what happen if the file has many pictures and is too big to email it, when I compress that file, I would lose quality?
Depending on what you need to do with the file, you have a few options. You can compress the file down slightly if the file you are emailing only needs to be shared online. Otherwise, I would sign up for a free account on Dropbox or Google Drive to upload your files to share. You have a larger space to upload and the recipient can just click a link you give them to download the files.

Yeah hopefully it will help a little! If social media had universal settings it would be so much better. Each one has different ratios and such that can hurt quality in their compression. One other tip not mentioned in the video is to google various proportions for the social media sites you are posting for to obtain the best possible quality and settings.
Often I have to export at 2MBs or under, so I will check the "limit File Size" and put it at 2,000K. The problem I have is that certain images in my export will give me an error message that basically says my file is too large to export at those settings. So annoying, because that's why I have those settings in the first place!!! Anyone know an easy solution to this? I do real estate photography so every image/set of images can and should retain the same export settings. Frustrating.
WEBP format? there is an addon for photoshop to save it as this format.

Are you trying to view each of them in a separate window within Lightroom or on your desktop? PC or MAC?

If I'm following correctly, you could group the stacks of photos in their own collections to organize them better for editing. You could also get a selection of those 6 photos and label them (by color, star rating, etc.) and when you have that particular selection, in the library module you can change the thumbnail size to view them larger.
If you're wanting their own windows to edit them kind of like you do in Photoshop, I'm not sure if there is a way to do that in Lightroom.

This is Lightroom CLASSIC CC, not Lightroom CC. The distinction when it comes to exporting photos is major. Currently I use Lightroom CC and have none of the customization options when it comes to exporting photos, it's simply a "save to" button and then choosing full size, small size, or custom. I hope that Adobe fixes the actual CC because the quality is quite bad with only these few export options.
Sorry about the rambling but it makes it INFINITELY harder to find actual help with CC when people dont use the correct distinction between Classic CC and CC.

I wish instead of doing two Lightrooms, adobe would just put the time and work into one solid software that would just include all features.
When I first made the upgrade it was super confusing for me, coming from the stand alone purchased software vs. the subscription based service I use now.
I had no clue between classic and cc for a bit.
I love adobe to death, but there are definitely some areas they could improve on ☺️

bro, pixels per inch are for printing, it does not have any effect on a digital picture
I explained that in the video. Monitors display at 72 ppi. Anything above that is just overkill for web and not needed.
@@ChadEveryday haven’t seen the vid, but from what I understand ppi doesn’t matter since you have a resolution and Resolution is setting a number of pixels

The only reason I mentioned it is because I see a lot of people setting their ppi to higher numbers like 240 or 300 ppi typically used in printing. I assume they think it yields a better resolution when it doesn’t. I just keep mine set on 72 unless I’m printing.
Technically the 72in ppi for monitors is a myth which I think was originally conceived by Apple.
I just wanted to share settings that would yield a quality looking image that wouldn’t kill load times in a personal website
Thanks mate! If I’m not mistaken mine was 72 by default. It’s been quite a few years since I first setup my Lightroom so not too sure. There’s so many thoughts on resolution it’s gets difficult sometimes haha. It’s kinda like a recipe, always little personal touches you can add
