    Nice work. Great topic. The video part was most interesting to me :)
    Actually, I've been using personalized video emails with clients and they've been very effective because they put a human face to the communication, which is what it's all about.

    There is something special about hearing a voice. Whether it is in person or on a phone you can't get through reading words on a screen that's just my opinion. Because when you only text a person you only get words on a screen there's not much emotion there vs hearing a person's voice.

    The challenge for face to face video is remembering time zones and adjusting to meet at sane times.

    Thank you for the video, Alex! I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to talk with people you don't necessarily have anything in common with? I'm kind of struggling.

      Hi Devang. Thank you for your inquiry. I do not do any one-on-one coaching or tutoring or anything like, even online. Sorry about that. I just don't have the time to do it.

    What do you think of the Online College Degree? At some schools you have team work through web cams, Would you consider that a face to face?

    • @alexanderlyon
      @alexanderlyon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's a compromise. It's not the same as face-to-face school and I wouldn't call it that, personally. Webcams help and I do a lot of webcam stuff in my hybrid/online college classes. But, it's still not the same. Having said that, it is a very helpful solution for some students so I think we should all try to keep getting better at it, improving the technology, etc.

      @@alexanderlyon This is a really challenging question, online vs face-to-face. Most that have had the traditional face to face prefer it and believe it's better, we learn more and benefit more. But I struggle with knowing if this is TRUE, or is it my opinion? In the end i feel that it is always case by case. So far technology can't replace essential face-to-face skills. But AI is gettign better and the Hidden Mind recently had an episode about these robots or dolls, that are very human-like. So who knows?

    Alex, is online communication a "real" communication?

    • @alexanderlyon
      @alexanderlyon  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. Why not? It's mediated but it's still real.
