I like X6 more than X5 because X6 is better paced (as in no Alia interruptions), the part system is better handled, the armors are better, Zeros Z buster is useful and the soundtrack was fantastic.
X6 does have the better gameplay content for sure. Parts systems were so mch fun to use here, but it was still broken at the end of the day. Did not like much of the level design, and it was just okay in the end.
I noticed a bit of mistakes but something that bothered me is that you *can* damage high max without any armor, you just have to charge shot him then hit him with any special weapon (preferably metal anchor) to damage him
19:00 High Max IIRC was actually made from that piece of whatever (Zero?) that Gate found at the beginning of the game seen here: 11:27. Dynamo however survived X5 and is just there for no reason than that. High Max was really stupid, you have to Charge shot him, then use a special weapon as he's blinking, and it's a lot longer without the Ult Armor but still possible.
I think Mega Man X6 has a lot of potential. It has a lot of really good ideas, but the execution often falls really flat. However, I do like the game quite a lot. Having said that, I think liking the game requires changing the mindset and approach to playing the game from the previous MMX titles; not being comfortable or not agreeing with doing so is what probably stops players from being able to like at least something in it. You know what, that's completely fine, everybody's different. Once you get into the groove of making the gameplay go smoother, you'll find that it's actually considerably easier than MMX5, even. It's just that it can be really tedious, slow in progression for 100%'ing, and needing to turn your mind off from several stupid design decisions. That last thing, this game undoubtedly has a lot of. One point from the video, though. High Max doesn't only get damaged by the Ultimate Armor. He still requires that you have any one of the Maverick weapons, but he can be defeated without cheating. You have to fire a charged shot to stun him, then use a maverick weapon to inflict damage. The nightmare system definitely makes little sense in its execution. It's literally a cop-out excuse to explain away a whole bunch of whatever happens in the game. But I will say that, most importantly to the player, the stage-altering aspect of the nightmare system does actually follow a pattern/system; it's just not explained well at all in the game or its reference material (manual, etc.) and even still, is dumb in concept. Most people do not understand how it works; but when you do, it'll make the game go MUCH smoother. There's still a lot of other BS with the game to overlook or tolerate, though.
I didnt know about that with High Max but honestly? I'm not bothering to find out. Like this game just blew up in my face and it was fun to see it combust than actually play the game properly haha.
You can, in fact, damage Hi Max withouth the Nova Striker. You just have to stun him with the buster and use another weapon or the falcon armor air dash.
Brianycus, the reason why Zero keeps coming back is because he's a virus. He is a robot that was the carrier of the Zero Virus. Do you remember the warehouse where Zero was stored in, right before Sigma went inside, he remembered that Gamma's unit went in before Sigma. Notice the parts on the floor ? Those parts belong to Gamma and his men, Zero not only wiped out his platoon, but also Gamma at the same time. Good thing Sigma didn't go in first or otherwise, he won't be able to survive.😅
The fact that midway through Gate stage 2 they put in a jump that they clearly intend you to use air dash or double jump to circumnavigate is some truly atrocious level design. Definitely second the recommendation to just input a code and play as Black Armor Zero or something.
They had a PERFECT CHANCE to make Mega Man a "ninja" in the final stage using the Shadow Armor. The music was awesome. The Shadow Armor's sword and ninja stars were awesome. The Shadow Armor's ability to beat the bosses easily was awesome. And then they go and RUIN THE WHOLE FLOW with the "leap of faith" This entire game comes down to that one point. I also think they made a mistake making Sigma the final boss rather than the penultimate boss. GATE IS IN CHARGE HERE. Why is he playing second fiddle?

For Zero do the 3 sword combo then attack with one of the 8 special techniques to deal damage. You're welcome
And also I like using using a Zero bug in X6 it requires the guard shell when the guard shell and the Z-saber (only for zero) touches there's this oversight that it deals damage to every frame the saber touches the enemy with the guard shell on so every frame that it comes in contact it deals damage and the damage it's just incredible it melts rainy tutleloid
Oh same here. I played X6 as my first ever Mega Man game period and I enjoyed it as a kid because what else did you play back then that wasn't Sonic, Pokemon, or Mario? But now? It's alright.
Aside from what everyone has said about High Max idk if everyone has told you even Shadow can kill him, all you gotta do is hit him with the half moon of it's charged saber and then hit him again. Shadow can also kill second form sigma with 3 or 4 of those. It's by far my favorite armor of the game! It makes almost al of it feel way better to play for me(as long as ultimate buster is equipped).
@@Brianycus ye, I just played this morning and double checked(also a good excuse to play it again for me lmao) and every charged shot from shadow just stuns and deals damage immediately, the half moon area deals more than the saber. One of the reasons why X5 and X6 are the way they are is because Capcom assigned a team that had never worked on platformer games to do those 2 games. It explains the lack of sophistication and polish that X4 have. Also, why X6 retcons the ending of X5? Apparently, when Inafune found out that MegaMan X6 was in development, he told the team that the game had to be set on a post-apocalyptic world in order to connect to the Zero series which was set in a post-apocalypse world a hundred years in the future. Zero's ending in X6 feels like it was made explictly to tie in with the Zero series, meaning that the team at least knew how the Zero series' story begins.

You can avoid them, but at the same time, this game never made any real sense to begin with. X6 is fun and exists for the sake of having a final entry for the PS1 before diving into the S2. It's not bad, but extremely jank when compared to the previous games.
From my understanding, the moment X3's ending regarding X's destiny of one day needing to destroy Zero to X's ending in X4 leading to him one day, himself becoming a Maverick and wishing for him to be destroyed by Zero, it's apparent Inafune planned to end the X series at X5 to do the Zero series. But, we all know how that went, can't have the precious blue bomber be an antagonist! X6 feels like the Star Wars Episode 7 of the X series, it has no plan and takes from the other games it's from. ISOC is very much another Serges, and both are hinted to be Dr. Wily in AI form due to their blatant hatred of X (the creation of Dr. Light) and non-stop praises of Zero's perfection (since he's Dr. Wily's greatest creation). ISOC and High-Max investigating the Nightmare Phenomenon is already just a rip off of Bass (Forte) and Treble's ruse of investigating and trying to apprehend Dr. Wily when he's the creation of Wily in Mega Man 7, and Zero "hiding himself to repair himself" still makes no sense till this day. The game is also just unfairly unfair with your "rewards" don't even feel like rewards. I honestly am curious of how the franchise would have differed IF Capcom never made X6 behind Inafune's back and the Zero series along with other projects would have been. Regardless, great video dude, consider me a subscriber.
This game just feels weird man. Like story-wise, this game could've existed without Zero and then the next game could've been about learning about Zero's existence, and with the help of Axl, they locate Zero. Something like that would've been a GREAT plot for Mega Man X7
@@Brianycus Okay, THAT would have been such a better plot, especially with how much of a fanboy Axl is for Zero in X7. But, we can't all have nice things, now can we?

However, it at least feels nice to play since the game at least doesn't feel sluggish like X7 and some X5 stages. Also, tbh X6 is the most replayable in the franchise since there are so many options in the way you play the game, including the DNA Parts, many armors, Nightmare effects, actually useful weapons, etc. Do these make X6 a good game? No. However, I think that X6 is a fun experience overall, and although being flawed, is a decent game and doesn't deserve all the hate people give it
I like X6 and the reasons are what you just said negatively but I like it because it's hard and in an unfair way but I don't also use the Ultimate armor and Black Zero cheat (only if I need something to pass the time and play X6) but in terms of gameplay I like it better than X5 because X5 is more like a waiting game and X6 is a run and gun platformer but unfair

@@Brianycus or you are the exception. Works both ways. X6 has a 65 percent rating on metacritic which makes sense. It's an average score for an average game. Far away from a dumpster fire. In fact, it seems like you are in the minority statistically lol
Nope. You can literally ask anyone and they'll say the same things I've said. Any TH-cam comment will say more or less an idea of what I just said.
Again, X6 isn't bad, hell the dumpster fire comment is for title description and exaggeration. You can play the game and enjoy for what it is, but don't expect it to be good. The Metacritic score is 65 for a reason because it still has the foundation of the X4-X5 formula but it falters a LOT in game design and gameplay.
You're in the minority statistics lmao.
Still better the x7.
Yupp
I have come here to say one thing
X4 SUCKS
X5 SUCKS
X6 IS PEAK
YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
I can't. But the comments will
I love the X series X6 sucks balls for alot reasons.. don't try to 100% This game you'll throw the controller across the room. If you haven't already 😂
Now I want to 100% this game
@@Brianycus that'll be a great review 😂
Jokes on you! I got the second half of the Megaman x legacy collection! I have 100% precent that game about three or more time than I can count!
@@JV-nm1fyyou probably put it on rookie mode😂
I almost 100% X6. But does having all the reploids rescued affect getting 100%?
WEAK. Imo x6 > x5.
Fair lmao
You have yet to experience X7
Oh buddy I tried it and I know what I'm about to experience soon.
