That's great to hear. We spent a few hours at Club Bombala and enjoyed a long and informative chat with one of the locals there. We've only been riding less than 10 years, but have noticed how more and more people are starting to ride the area.
Nicely done as always. Unusual that it didn't involve dirt, not that there's anything wrong with that :) . I think I'll suggest this in reverse for our way home from Tassie next month. Cheers.
Tassie will be great - enjoy! I'd agree with the Buchan - Bombala bit. But suggest if you want to do some good roads on the way there in the Gippsland area, that's what our next video will feature. But there's so many other good roads in the area. And you can get a really great ride from the Spirit too. 👍
Nice, I noticed you were out and about in Vic at the moment, I missed you by a day or 2, was out there at McKillops Bridge and Bombala earlier this week. Love the Vids.
Traralgon is right on my doorstep. Grand Ridge Rd is one of my favourite routes. I can spend all day criss-crossing those mountain roads. In my opinion, South Gippsland has some of the best riding roads this side of Melbourne. I grew up in Healesville, so I am biased to claiming the Yarra Ranges takes the top spot
What great areas! We saw lots of bikes out on New Years Day riding the Gippsland and they would have all been Melbourne/Victorian riding groups. And we've also got to agree with you about the Yarra Ranges. Absolutely beautiful. 😀
I did the Bonang Road on Wednesday and found the same road conditions as you did. Just as a matter of interest if you wish to camp on the Bonang Road there is a great area to pull up stumps at Goongerah Camp Ground.
All sealed roads for a change and a section I am heading to in early February. Planning to go down the coast to Moruya for the first night, then stick to the coastal route to Pambula and across to Bombala (2nd Night). I like the way you went to Bruthen so I'll follow that route before moving up to Bright and ride all those wonderful roads I keep reading about around Omeo. Then home via Jindy and Canberra. Thanks for the tip.
When you get to Swifts Creek, hang a left at the Bakery onto the Cassilis Rd and follow it till you come back onto the Great Alpine Rd. Turn left and that will take you to Dinner Plain and Mt. Hotham, or turn right will take you into Omeo and the Omeo Hwy.
Ha! I didn"t realise i was catching this so soon after you put it up. I'm from Traralgon originally but I've been thinking about doing some pushbike touring in the Orbost area. Good to get a nice preview of the Orbost-Buchan rd. Have you ever gone from there to Nuniong?
Never been to Nunniong. Don't know what's there, but do know there's tonnes of roads and tracks in the area. We have a very high opinion of Traralgon as a place and it's location.
I love seeing Bombala area in these videos as it’s my home town and yep,we certainly do have some amazing riding roads at our disposal 😃

This is our new favourite road south. Wendy and I did it a couple of months ago. You can really get a rhythm up.
For sure - it is definitely getting more popular, but not as good as the Omeo Highway 😉.

The Strzelecki ranges are awesome riding and my home turf.
You're not wrong! We've done a bit there on other rides and did a bit more on this ride - featured in the next video. Great place to live. 👍

Thanks. We are always up for a chat. Met some very nice and interesting people on the trip. Bet you had a great ride!...

Excellent, we've never stopped there. Though don't think we'd ever camp on the Bonang 😀.

Excellent - comes out at the Oriental Claims. Looks like a nice ride. Thanks! 👍
@@chrisfromkatunga6245 Any reason for Cassilis rd instead of continuing on Great Alpine rd? Never been on either so I don't know
@@jeffarnie It’s more interesting and more scenic than than that section of the Great Alpine Rd.
Great vid. Looks like some awesome roads. I'm sure many, like myself, will use your vlogs to plan future rides to these locations. Ride safe.
Thanks - enjoy your riding!
I believe the old timber railway bridge at Orbost is being redeveloped as an extension of Gippsland Rail Trail.
Great vid. What are the Mitas like in the wet?
Thanks. I'd say we ride with caution - they're OK but we go easy on the throttle, it's not hard to spin the rear wheel.

@@rideday01 yeah; as you said. It gives good access to a lot of rides. I left there when I was 10 though.
Yes, we really have a high opinion of Traralgon as a place and location. 👍
How could you go to Buchan and not visit the caves?
Good point - I should have mentioned the Caves. Great if you haven't been before and planned the time 👍.
Quick Question: What camera are you using and how do you have it mounted?
It's a GoPro10. Usually mounted with a chin-mount but in this video it's on the left side engine bar using a really good Ali-Express mount kit.
