- With the public release of the Automation Ellisbury Update, we’re starting another playthrough of the campaign mode. This time around, the theme is diametrically opposed to the nature of our HQ country - we’re building Kei Cars in Gasmea, where anything below 3L capacity is considered a small engine! Is this a viable niche? Will we be the only company not struggling with emissions? We shall find out in this series!

as soon as you started the 550 version, in my mind I heard Robot Cantina yelling "BIG BLOCK!" (awesome youtuber that powers cars with engines NOT designed for that task)
It is a massive engine compared to what we used before, absolutely! :D Cheers

Having twin turboed a tiny boxer 4 this update, i can say right now that's effectively not worth doing unless you're running a CVT as you'll ever escape that super steep power curve.
And since CVTs aren't rated well for sportiness in general it's... more fun than valuable
Twin turbo will work very poorly for these engine capacities, yes :) single turbo will always be better for that!

Funny thing about investing so much in those carbs is that at some point they'll get replaced by MPFI and all that quality will go straight out the window.
Yes indeed! xD In the late 70s most likely... at some point the switch needs to be flicked.
Would be neat if the game was expanded to how some manufacturers basically just make the chassis and use other people's engine, Trans, and driveline. Would also be cool to see if there is a way to make it that if you did design the best engines or any other components that they could be licensed by other manufacturers.
What we did plan to make eventually is an engine market where you can get engines and sell your engines to other manufacturers :) not sure if that'll make it in, but we've certainly thought about it!

@@JKCullens No, Automation will remain set in the years 1940-2020 :) earlier makes things really weird in terms of tech.
@@KillrobPlays boat anchor engines and chain driven cars would provide be hard to program with bicycle tires.
I saw the engineering time for the turbo and my first thought is throw money at it lol.
Is 3 cylinder MFI really that expensive? Might have been worthwhile anyway.
Hmm well, true. It is not super expensive, but the engineering time still is a bit rough :P considering how early we get MPFI and how low reliability MFI is, I don't think it's worth it.
Something just feels so unnatural having these Kei engines having a degree of actual power.
Haha yeah, but they are struggling... I don't think we'll really be that limited once we have working turbos :)
If you keep pressing "copy to all" in marketing, the yoy growth will keep going up. Is that real growth or just a visual? If that is real, I need to prepare auto-clicker :D
Haha not sure what you mean! It just copies the marketing settings to all countries, thus making it cost more or less in total. What is shown in the demographics should not change for any region where these settings already apply.

Very nice series but you just aren't aggressive enough with the funding sliders... sitting on 1.2 billion yet you only spent tens of millions on your engine projects!! cmon even the whole mid cycle Berry refresh still leaves you with over half a billion left over! so much money is being taken from you and wasted on pointless things like Gasmean public services or infastructure!! You need to look like you're constantly on the edge of default to the taxmen while simultaneously looking stable as ever for your creditors! Min-max!!!!!!!
While that is all true, I'd rather spend my time focused on the engineering aspects of this challenge :) There is no need to min max if you have a cushion this comfortable. It's not a try-hard run, as the 10x difficulty multi also would suggest.
